Mayank Mittal wrote The Art of Building Great Products. He postulates that It is necessary to have a brilliant concept. The Art of Building Great Products demonstrates how to test and put it into practice. The book explains the justification, implementation, and application of this concept. It entails developing the discipline of condensing a picture onto one piece of paper and assessing that idea by staff members and, most importantly, customers. Mittal does an excellent job turning a conceptual discussion into a concrete implementation strategy by including a specific, if somewhat fanciful, idea sheet. The Art of Building Great Products' true goal is to advocate for a development process that happens in steps. This idea fits well with Lean, a business method emphasising customer value and production efficiency. As a result, the book's central message is timely and relevant. There is an important lesson to be learnt from this, and readers who work in any capacity on creating software—or any other product, for that matter—should benefit from the book.
The book packs a lot of information into just over three hundred pages. There are significant lessons to be learnt from this, and readers who work in any capacity on the production of software—or any other product, for that matter—should benefit from the book. The information is presented and written straightforwardly. Mayank Mittal offers crucial insights into procedures that business owners might not be familiar with. The book provides frank guidance to managing businesses through technological changes, acknowledging that adaptive success necessitates growing acclimated to high levels of unpredictability. The author discusses digital transformation and says there must be a shift toward providing quality service and value to all stakeholders. It also makes the case that businesses need methodical innovators who are willing to take calculated risks and carry out their plans, even when there is still a lot that is unknown about the future.
The Art of Building Great Products is a thoughtful book about keeping up with and suggesting adaptive approaches to current business trends. Overall, this is a good manual with detailed instructional design methods and processes and suitable documentation that will be helpful to those new to instructional design and training development.
The Art of Building Great Products delves into a specific aspect of developing and running a business. The focus of the book is on Product Management, or how to develop and build a product that customers want (rather than need). The author goes into detail about various types of products, including digital products (i.e. Snapchat filters, or even the website itself can be considered a product). The author also discusses various ways to study market trends and different techniques to coming up with, implementing, and studying usage of new features for your product. This book and its focus on product management might be well suited for someone who is already knowledgeable about business, for whom this aspect of business might be something that will be the turning point or the final ingredient for them to make their business successful. There is some discussion about business philosophies such as scrum or agile, written in a way that assumes the reader is already familiar with these concepts.
There is a lot of good information in this book, from tips and advice about education and majors that would be suited for someone just starting out who wants to be a Product Manager, as well as tips for someone already in the business field who wants to transition into Product Management. The author even breaks down different specific positions related to product management, e.g. Technical Product Manager, Customer Product Manager, Analytical Product Manager, etc. The author also recommends that a Product Manager be at least somewhat familiar with the tech aspect of product development. Not to the point of writing code, but at least to be able to communicate effectively with the tech staff. This information is all very helpful for someone wanting to become a Product Manager. There are even non-Product Manager business tips, such as how to make sure you get the credit you deserve for the work that you've done, or examples of free tools available to study customer trends and data, or how to choose and manage a great team to work with..
This book covers most all aspects of business from a product management standpoint, and per the author is intended to be kept as a guide to be referred back to as your business progresses from stage to stage.
This book is all about the world of product management, whether the product is virtual or tangible (can be held in your hand).
The product manager does not have to be an expert in each part of the process, like coding and marketing, but he or she must be familiar with them. If your product is being sold to the public, analyze your website traffic. Are people clicking on your site, then quickly leaving? Are people looking around your site, but not buying?
If you want to add features to an already existing product, talk to your present customers. Do it in person, and not just through online surveys. Are they interested in the new features? Instead of trying to add many new features all at once, add just a couple of new features. Make the new product as bug-free as possible. If your present customers like the new features, then add a few more.
If you are a start-up and this is a new product, know your market. Who is your target audience? Who are your competitors? How big is the overall market? At all times, frequently test and evaluate your product. Fix any problems (or start over) sooner, rather than later. Does "a great idea" actually turn into "a great product?"
Product management, on any scale, can seem big and confusing. This book does a very good job of reducing the confusion. It is very much worth reading.

As a BD guy who wrote the book Navigate to the Lighthouse: A Silicon Valley Guide to Executing Global Deals, I loved learning about product management. This book should be in every entrepreneurs arsenal and they should read it after the Lean Startup.
The book focuses on the how to find product market fit, how to test for it, and then how to execute against it. The structure Ans writing style made it for a very easy read to pick up and put down and refer back to. He also provides documents and illustrations that are very helpful — especially for a novice like me.
His examples are mostly from big companies. I hoped he could add more startup stories or more unique/ esoteric products. But those were fine.
He outlines in details the tactics and team needed to make great products. It makes it a good reference to follow.
Super appreciate the author for writing this and sharing it.
As Mayank Mittal states, this book is for every product person, whether you are a newbie, like myself, or a seasoned product manager. As a product manager, Mayank has a lot of experience pitching start up ideas. The first important point is forming your strategy and deciding what to build, which is discussed in detail to help you along your journey. Like going on a road trip, it’s important to know where you’re going. Another great point is to solve some sort of problem with your product and decide which solution has potential. Through the 4 steps, I was able to learn some ways to get my ideas started and funded. I’m looking forward to getting started. Definitely check this book out if you have some product ideas.

With the market saturated with a lot of available products and services to choose from it is quite hard for some people like me to find a way into the market. What better way than to create a need. This book was written to inspire product managers and creators to bulk better products and find a suited placement for their products as well. It starts from coming up with the idea of the products and matching it to your personal values, which gives the product credibility.
