She’s not searching for a mate, just a place to feel safe… Sophie came to Zerconia under false pretences. She doesn’t want a mate. She has crap judgement in men. And really, what does she need a man for? Mind-blowing orgasms? She’ll buy a vibrator. Someone to take care of any creepy-crawlies? She’ll get a really good bug spray. The feeling of protection and safety that comes from being held in a man’s strong arms? Okay, that might be a bit harder to find, but Sophie has never known that sort of protection before anyway. Her father abandoned her as a child, and her last boyfriend was an asshole who used her for sex. Nope, she doesn’t need a man. Even sexy, gorgeous, oh-so-serious Toriq with his huge muscles and his careful, quiet nature. All right, so she needed someone to fantasize about while she made use of that vibrator. And he was every fantasy come to life. Toriq lives in the shadow of his father’s memory. He keeps a distance from most people, especially tiny human females, knowing they must fear his size. But staying away from Sophie is more difficult than he anticipated. Particularly when she finds herself in trouble. Protecting the tiny blonde female suddenly becomes his top priority. Even if that means protecting her from himself.
Best selling author, Sadie wanted to blend her love of writing, Sci-Fi (why did they cancel Firefly - sobs) and sexy, dominant males. So obviously I like the series because I’m at the 8th or whatever book. But some things do irritate me and I keep reading in part to see if it’ll change.
I don’t know how long you’d have to stay on an alien planet before you’d start calling other women “human females” instead of…women. For me it’d be a looong time. Just saying.
When we meet Boris in the second or third book, he had a useless arm. In this installment and the last one where’s he’s mentioned, he only has one arm. Continuity?
“I know our mating was unexpected and maybe not what either of us expected.”
Really.
What I keep waiting for is a woman who isn’t described as tiny. Because I’m picturing seven feet tall aliens with dolls. Anyone is going to look small next to a 7’ guy. Are these women normal size or do they come up to his waist. Because that’s really going to mess with what I’m picturing in my head. Also, aliens can be super strong without the women being height challenged. Can’t they?
This wrapped up a bit soon but they’re on the fluffier side of deep. Can’t really expect more there. I hope the next one has a taller, stronger, less ridiculous heroine. But I expect it’ll be the bitchy sister and the grumpy healer next.
Although I really like the Zerconian Warriors, they are starting to get formulaic. Sophie is such a sweet heroine and I loved the hero. But I am having trouble with the short stories. Because they are so short, there is no time for an extended storyline as we had with Dex and Zoey.
Every time I get invested in a couple, there is a dangerous situation for the heroine, she gets rescued and.. the end. I feel a bit robbed every time!
I would rather have some full length stories than a lot of novellas with a new couple every time. Sadie Carter is really talented, but she is limiting herself to a fast formula and I consider quitting the series.
>I am an independent reviewer. This is the 11th book in the Zerconian Warriors series and ends in an HEA. Toriq is the largest Zerconian warrior in the bunch. For once a Zerconian has self-esteem issues. Toriq’s father was abusive, so Toriq feels he may become abusive as well. As everyone seems to fear him, Toriq feels like he must deserve to be feared. Sophis is a pregnant human running from a powerful abusive man. As Toriq realizes that Sophie is his mate, he immediately accepts the child, but stays cold towards Sophie in a misguided attempt to protect her from himself.
>Out of all 11 books in this series, this book is by far the most romantic. Sophie actually has to show her acceptance and love to Toriq. The evil ex causes Toriq to show his protective side. There is a lot of humor with the new doctor’s cold bedside manner and his attraction to Sophie’s prickly sister.
> This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this novel 5 stars. I love these characters and this story especially.
Sophie has come to Zerconia to escape problems on earth with her ex. Oh yeah, she is also pregnant. No one knows about the baby except her sister Saffron. When she is accused of being a spy and evidence is found, she has to tell everyone about the pregnancy. Torque believes that Sophie is his mate. When he finally touches her and she blacks out, it is confirmed. He tries to protects her from all of the stress happening from the accusation. Torque and Sophie go thru a lot of growing pains because of communication issues. But when she is in danger he is right by her side. There were a few questions that didn't get answered. I know this is an ongoing saga so not everything will be answered yet. I hope the few questions that I thought should have been answered at the end will be addressed in the next book, especially about Sophie's ex. Overall it was a pretty good read. I will continue to read this series as long as the author keeps writing them.
All Sophie has ever wanted was to be safe after her last boyfriend was cheating on her because she wasn’t wife material but she will be the mistress instead so after over hearing a conversation but a murder plot she flees for her life and with the help of her sister Saffron they escape onto a spaceship heading for zerconia but is intercepted and taken by an evil alien race but where all saved. Now on zerconia she and her sister just want to live there life’s safe and at peace and neither of them are looking for mates but Sophie has noticed Toriq hanging around and is quite taken with him and has some really good dreams about him but he never gets close enough to do anything he always keeps his distance and for a huge man that’s nor easy, Toriq try’s to stay away from Sophie but he can’t.
Sophie comes to Zerconia not looking for a Mate but she is there for protection. She is a little sweet blonde with a Big Secret. Toriq is a Big Fierce Warrior. He thinks Sophie is scared of him. He is a Gentle Giant and he just wants to protect her ( Swoon ) . She thinks she is not worthy of him. He thinks she is so special. They are each others Mates & I loved it. They fell in love & I did too !!! I don't want to give too much away but these books just keep getting better and better. This is My Favorite Sci Fi Romance Series. It is So Sexy and Funny and Exciting. I can't wait for the next one.
I hope that this is not the last in this series, want to see if there will be another warrior gets his mate, so much fun watching them try to order the earth ladies around and have to try and understand the earth sang and our saying that they just don't get the meaning of and it drives them crazy love this series. For me it's a 10 Stars.
It was okay, if you have been reading the series you will want to read this one too. There was some funny bits, mostly concerning cultural differences esp language but on the whole it wasn't a huge plot line, which was okay but maybe more could have been made of certain issues, it seemed a bit of a quick read.
Wow!! Another great addition to the Zerconian Warriors series. At book number 11 this series is still going strong and I love the appearance of characters from previous books. It's like one big happy family!! Can't wait for next book which I really hope will be Saffron and Moroco's story. I just know it will be hilarious!!!😜
Oh man I love Toriq, he's such a darling darling Male. Highly recommend this story for anyone who loves a big, cuddly, slightly silent, and wonderfully loving Giant Male, who does absolutely anything to make his lady happy.
Sophie and Saffron are back. Rich is in fine attitude. He is hiding something. As usual. Gloria is hiding something. Fails to communicate with his mate. Almost looses her to a bad guy. Awesome.
Toriq and Sophie was a great story. The patience and love Toriq has for Sophie was just incredible. He would have protected her even if they had not been fated mates.
Very good . I enjoyed seeing Maxwell finally getting what he deserved. It looks like Sophie isn't the only one to find her mate. Looking forward to the next installment.
Alien Commander (Zerconian Warrior #11) – Toriq and Sophie
He’s an oversized male desperate not to repeat the mistake of his father. She’s a survivor who has escaped an abusive past.
I know what I want for my birthday and it’s over 6 ft tall, has eyes that change colour and is adorably arrogant. That’s right sign me up for a Zerconian warrior of my very own. I love those guys and I devoured all the currently released books, including the novellas, in under a week. I confess, I was a little addicted.
But there was a lot to love about this series, Sadie Carter has done a fantastic job at not only writing a troop of sexy alien warrior, but she given us a whole bunch of feisty, hilarious heroines as well. I enjoyed watching the friendship develop between the women almost as much as the romances.
As I mentioned I read these book in quick succession, which meant that I quickly worked out the formula that each of the books follow. This did make each instalment predictable, however, that obviously didn’t stop me from jumping from one book to another. This was a light-hearted and fun series to read and although you known what’s going to happen that doesn’t take away the enjoyment I took from reading each warrior fall for his human woman.
This series covers a lot of troupes/character types as well, so if you like a plain Jane, grumpy heroes, warrior women, enemies to lovers stories than this series is bound to fulfil your wishes. Personally, I really enjoy plain Jane and grumpy hero stories so those were my favourite books in the series.
