I recieved an advance copy of this book and i have to say i loved it. i love the play on words, Green Witch Mean Time as Greenwich Mean Time. this book has a great plot and characters. i was totally involved in the story from the first page. i love the familly whose surname is Green all have names that are shades of green. i enjoyed how the murder clues are spread out. The different undercurrents running through this story keep the reader involved and anxious to keep reading. i honestly can not wait for the next book in this series. i make this review on my own and am in no way obligated to do this. i personnally would give this book 10 stars. it is a great halloween season read. Do yourself a favor and read this book
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced mystery. As I read, I could feel the chaos in Jade's home life and I could also vividly see each scene as described in the book. I suspect Jade, her cousin Scarlett and I would have been friends when I was their age. The other characters were equally fun. I was kept guessing up to the end! "Green Witch Mean Time" will put you into the Halloween spirit!!!
This is the fourth book by Cherry Northcutt that I have read, and I enjoyed each one. The book is a complete departure from the author’s previous efforts, and includes a touch real magic. The story moves along quickly with short chapters (the author calls them episodes). In many cases there are plot twists near the end of each episode that tempt the reader to continue on into the next one. Jade, the heroine, is a teenage witch who finds a murder victim at the end of the first episode. As the story proceeds, the number of potential suspects increases until the climactic scene when the murderer is revealed. The book also includes several side plots, including some teen romance, a few magic potions, and even a witch’s broom. Green Witch Mean Time is a fun read.
LOVED the book! Fresh and engaging. The narrative and dialog were both well done. The names of characters and places made one think about the locality of the author. Silly and funny. A perfect escape for these soon to be fall evenings! Don’t miss this one.
Looking for a pleasant read to enjoy anytime then this fits the bill. A little bit of magic and some interesting characters I am hoping will return in future adventures. Nice amount of mystery and items to keep you wondering what is coming next.
Jade Green is taking a gap year, selling her potions at the local farmer market, hoping to save enough for a trip to Europe. Her cousin Scarlett asks her to attend her first performance as a magician sidekick, but the guy is murdered before the show. Not just that! His common law wife turns out to be Scarlett's aunt, one she never knew to have. Scarlett's father had a beef with the deceased and the police are keeping an eye on him. Scarlett is sure the murderer is her aunt, while Jade isn't so sure. Scarlett asks her to find who's the culprit. And beside this, she has all normal teenagers' problems, her first crush is a bit of a womanizer, her best friend has just told her he's in love with her, she's not getting on too well with her sister, her Mom's pressuring her to enlist at University and forget about her trip to Europe...
An interesting read, even if I'm well outside the intended target. the murder is well thought out and the denouement comes off natural, nothing too contrived or unexpectedly out of the blue, which is what often happens in fantasy mysteries.
Cherry has done it again! She has once again created relatable and likeable characters in this latest book. The pace of the book is great with a nice mix of murder, magic, and a little young romance. I found myself wanting to know who was the murderer, but even more caring about the main characters and their relationships. Her heroine, Jade, is surrounded by a wonderful cast of family and friends. There is a nice balance in the story between the aspects of Jade trying to solve the murder, Jade dealing with the realities of family and their secret use of magic, and Jade experiencing becoming a young independent adult. I look forward to reading Jade's next adventure!
This fun fall read just flew by- on a broomstick! With an engaging and easy to read writing style we’ve come to expect from Cherry Northcutt, this new cozy with a sprinkling of magic was thoroughly enjoyable. There’s been a murder at the Oak Woods Farmers Market, and it’s up to teenage witch Jade Green and her quirky family and friends to unravel the mystery. With plot twists, romance, and family drama to stir the pot, the mystery is carefully crafted to keep you guessing who the murderer is and wanting to know what comes next. Grab your latte and cozy up!
Jade Green is a witch who is taking a year off before starting college. Her family has witches and non witches. Jade makes and sells potions which have some small magic. There is a murder at the Farmers Market, and Jade finds the body. Lots of family drama ensues and Jade hopes to find the murderer. The story is cute with some teenage type drama. A fun, quick read.
