**Part two of The Girl with the Gray Eyes trilogy. Slow burn with a Cliffhanger ending.
An omega living in a beta world, fate sent me to a land where all the alphas live.
I want Garren, the playful alpha and brave warrior who effortlessly rocks my world. I also want Tanis, the serious alpha who kisses me and claims me with words, only to send me back to Garren.
But Shadowland isn’t my home. One day, I must leave this place and the men who live here behind. When fate rips me away, will a beta male ever be enough?
Then Marcus returns and throws everything into a spin. I don’t trust him, and I’m not the only one.
As it turns out, I was wrong about the beta. And right about Marcus.
Returning to Rymor isn’t a choice anymore. We’re all trapped out here, and someone wants us dead.

In a secret garden hidden behind a wall of shrubs and trees amid a tiny English village, you'll find L.V. Lane's writing den, where she crafts spicy adventures...Magical and mythical creatures, wolf shifters, and alphas of every flavor give our sweet, sometimes willful omegas and heroines a guaranteed HEA. Absolutely breathtakingly good. Like, 0 complaints. The way the plot twists are delivered. The way the astonishing amount of pov just thickens the story. Just amazing. We have no idea how the story will go especially how it ended.
P.s. not me seeing fisting in a book for the first time...
This is the second book in this trilogy and let me say WOW each book delves more into each character and the workings of the Shadowlands. There are so many wonderful characters and their POV’s work so well with this story. I keep turning each page wondering what will happen next and who is the good guy and who is not. Let me say edge of your seat all the way to the end!
Recap, Hannah is still navigating her life in the hostile shadowlands while also learning what it is to be an omega. She is drawn to Garren who is a possessive alpha that tries to tame her. However, when you throw a beta named Red into the mix, BOOM RH time.
Wait there is more, there is another alpha named Tanis who is their leader and would like nothing more than to lay claim to Hannah, but holds back because there is so much danger and uncertainty. However when their passion finally ignites, wow off the charts in every way. The only problem is what will happen when Garren finds out that his brother wants to stake claim? I bet all hell will break loose.
On the flip side let’s not forget Bill who is still trying to take everyone down in the Shadowlands by any means necessary. That also includes his nemesis Tanis. I so can’t wait for Tanis to take him out. That will be one showdown!
In closing, there are so many other amazing characters in this book we are finally learning and caring more about; I.e., Theo, Nate, Dan, Coco and Ella. So much more to learn in the next book and I definitely can’t wait for my next fix on this wild ride.
I literally cannot say this loud enough, Liv's world building and character development in this series is INSANE!
We get multiple POVs again in this installment like we did in book 1 and I can tell you now, there isn't a single character that Liv hasn't nailed, and I love them all (yes, Liv, them ALL 👀)
We pick up exactly where book 2 left off, this book is faster paced and SO MUCH is happening, there's so many things left to unveil, this series will have you on the edge of your seat trying to guess how it's going to unfold.
Honestly this has shot up as one of my favourite series EVER 😍🖤
I know I haven't given you much to go off, but go in blind, hang on tight, and enjoy the ride 🖤
Very little of the above warnings occur graphically, except for sex, killing during battles, and some torture, so I found it manageable. I'm loving this series, but am still a little puzzled about how it fits in with the previous series, The Predictive and Variant. In my review of book 1, I said it's not necessary to read those. But having read them gives a little bit more fleshing out of the world building in this book, itself quite descriptive. That series was just as compelling, but with much less sex and no Omegaverse.
Warrior in the Shadows beginning repeats a little of the ending scene of book 1 where we saw the obvious attraction between Tanis and Hannah — but they didn't so much as kiss until the end. This détente between them continues. While Hannah came into her Omega traits in the first book when she began to enjoy them in her relationship with Bill Bremmer and began a sexual relationship with Garren, in this book she actively embraces them with Garren, Tanis' half brother, and later Red.
Tanis tasked Garren to watch over Hannah as they travel through Shadowlands on the way to his fortress, Thale. He's aware of their blossoming sexual relationship. Although it actively annoys him since he's very attracted to Hannah, he permits it. He is very familiar with the needs and ways of Omegas, having been a temporary third in other Alpha/Omega relationships. He only warns Garren not to knot her and risk bringing her into heat in the midst of war. Omega heat creates an Alpha/Omega bond. Garren being Garren doesn't listen.
Tanis is the son of a Shadowlands warlord and a Rymiorian geneticist who grew up and lived in Rymoria. Due to his mother's genetic manipulation, he didn't come into his full Alpha physical and behavioral traits or know he had an Alpha father until he fell out with his former best friend, Bill, and had to exile himself to Shadowland. With no access to Rymorian genetic manipulation, he manifested as an alpha and after 10 years there, had been their leader for five of them. As a Rymorian, he had voluntarily had himself made reversibly sterile, but has no access to Rymorian technology to reverse it. He doesn't want to have sex with Hannah for danger of bringing her into heat and then having only Garren impregnate her. That's where his jealousy and possessiveness manifests. Otherwise he's pretty laissez faire about Hannah and Garren's relationship.
Hannah is an ask forgiveness not permission person. And she doesn't ask her sexual partner Garren when her nurturing friendship with Red, a Rymorian field scientist who has spent a lot of time in Shadowlands, becomes sexual.
Meanwhile we're seeing almost completely the machinations, treachery, and violence of Bill Bremer behind his benevolent persona. As Chancellor of Rymoria, he keeps this hidden from the Council of 12 and everyone else, but he kills people to keep his secrets (he blacks out) or has them killed, and has a sexually abusive but consensual relationship with another Rymorian woman. He deliberately sent Hannah, his lover, on a Shadowlands mission fully expecting her to be killed and is not happy when he finds out she is still alive. For almost 10 years, Tanis has evaded his many assassination attempts. Bill is focused on manipulating the Council of 12 into approving a war with Shadowlanders who the Rymorians think is the clear and present danger. And he wants control of Rymor, Shadowlands, and Jaru.
Hannah, living among the Shadowlanders, learns that contrary to Rymorian propaganda, Alphas are not a savage civilization. They're well organized and led by Tanis, who controls five fortresses and thousands of troops led by his subordinate leaders — including his brother Garren and his birth father, Javid. Shadowlands, with none of the technology that completely supports Rymor, is a well-organized, military but horse-driven society constantly at war, defending itself from mindlessly violent Jaru attacks.
There is constant action happening, interspersed with sex with Garren and later Red. At the end, we begin to see hints of another group called Outliers, and that is when the previous series begins to have more relevance.
The constant action, many hidden machinations, Bill's plotting, and complex relationships make this book intensely fascinating. And it's left that in the next book, your questions will be answered.
Unfortunately the full connection with the previous series won't be revealed until the very LAST chapter of the third book. I found this very frustrating. But that didn't keep me from rereading both series for clues.
Highly recommended.

This entire series (The Girl With The Grey Eyes) is the best thing I've read from L.V. Lane to date and she's (I'm assuming gender. My bad, I guess, but if a man wrote this series, he has a serious understanding of what women secretly want in a man and I sincerely hope he exercises that knowledge with his significant other.) a one click author for me. Adventure, terror, action, omegaverse, seriously 🔥🔥🔥 scenes and not only did the author answer all the mysteries of the series in the final book, she made illusions to a somewhat new mystery regarding the color of Hannah's eyes. I'm hoping for future books in the universe she created because of that.
The entire series is a series of contrasts. Medieval living next door to an advanced technological society and an indigenous people living next to colonizing invaders. Of course, there's the obvious differences between alphas, betas and omegas living in one society and only betas and omegas in the other using their technology to separate themselves from the "savages." And then, there's the corruption of government taking advantage of the labor of the poverty stricken. Honestly, there's so much going on in this series, I was absolutely thunder struck when the final page turned and all my questions were answered. It was almost painful returning to reality.
If you're looking for a 3 book series that you'll absolutely resent putting down to be a responsible member of society and a scorching hot omegaverse reverse harem with alphas and a beta you'll want to clone and lock in your bedroom, this is it. It's definitely 18+ and has two scenes that are MFMM with all the heroes being intimate with the FMC and two of the heroes being intimate with each other but only during intimacy with the FMC. MM isn't really my thing but it's really well done and not distracting from the story at all.
Warning: The series main antagonist isn't completely evil but isn't a good person at all. In some instances, I felt true pity for him but he's a very dark grey character morally and the FMC is naively intimate with him and then is subjected to some DubCon sexual situations with him in the first book of the series. It all plays a part in the grand scheme of the story though, so if you can get through it, it's definitely worth it.
We enter the second book with Hannah still in station fifty-four after turning the power to the wall back on. She wants to return home but it’s no longer an option. When Tanis enters the station after the battle with the Jaru, he finds her holding a weapon and demanding to go back home. He flat out tells her she is coming to Thale, his fortress, along with the rest of her team.
Garren is being defiant towards Tanis when it comes to Hannah. Tanis wants him to stop knotting her so he doesn’t bring on her heat as a new omega. Tanis is trying to keep his distance from Hannah but he wants her but if he takes her he won’t share her.
Through the travels to Thale, Marcus returns out of the blue and sets everyone’s inner alarms off. They find out his true colors too late.
When Thanis sends Garren to investigate the group that Marcus was with Hannah gets cozy with Red, a beta who is in love with her. She has needs as an omega and he eases those even though he can’t knot her. When Garren returns, he’s not quite happy with this new development but surprises us with his actions.
Their travels finally leads them to Thale and the shadowlanders must unite to prepare for the war.
Bill has been busy and has moved forward with sending troops out to the shadowlands. He is determined to bring Hannah and Thanis into custody.
So much happens in this 2nd book and it’s all leading to the final showdown between Bill and Thanis. They used to be friends but now are sworn enemies.
I have absolutely enjoyed this series so far! The world building and characters bring this story to life. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!
This series is absolutely mind blowingly amazing! It has grabbed my interest from the first book and hasn't let go since. I waited on pins and needles for this book. I needed to know what was gonna happen with Hannah, and all the other characters I have come to love in this series.
This book picks up right where the first left off at. It takes you on one heck of a ride from the get go. And it does not let go, or leave you disappointed one little step of the way. I found myself on the edge of my seat flipping the pages as fast as I could to find out what was gonna happen next!
So many interesting things developed in this book. Some surprising, and some not so much. The not so surprising was continuing to learn just how ruthless, and evil Bill is. The surprising... well I will leave you to find that out on your own when you read this book! I will not spoil it for anybody.
I find myself trying to think what else I can include in this review without spoiling it... and I am at a loss. Other then do yourself a favor and get this series! Now! You will be swept away in this fabulous world that L.V. Lane has created!
I do have a question though... Outliers 👀👀👀 This is an interesting development... and I must know more! Oh and L.V. Lane.. if you read this... just so you know... I still want to live in this world!
Book 2 in the epic fantasy/sci-fi world of The Girl with the Grey Eyes, The Warrior in the Shadows builds on the layers of political intrigue and male posturing started in the first. It reads less like a romance and more like a Robert Jordan-style fantasy with a bit of ABO dynamics thrown in, and I am 100% on board. I am loving this plot-heavy-style romance.
LV Lane has woven so many interconnected plotlines into one overarching plot, told through multiple POVs – those of the primary characters as well as secondary and tertiary characters. The world-building is even more extensive in this second book, and we see additional dimensions of many players.
The steam level is higher in this story, with Hannah becoming more in tune with her omega biology and giving in to her body’s needs. However, she still stumbles a bit while she tries to temper the impulses with her strict upbringing behind the wall. There is no nesting, mating bites, or heat scenes, but there are plenty of knots and slick. This remains a slow-build, why-choose romance, as Hannah adds to the men in her circle.
Like an onion, this book is layers upon layers of storylines. It ends on a cliffhanger, the HEA promised in the trilogy's third and final book. It cannot get here fast enough.
By bringing readers the second book of the Girl With the Grey Eyes series, Miss Lane brings the reader ever closer to the world of Hannah and her lovers. We get a glimpse of how life is back in the Shadowlands after Hannah has restored power to Station Fifty-four. In days since Tanis and his forces have fought off a Jaru attack. Hannah has been involved with the Alpha Garren, Much to Tanis’ chagrin. Often getting her close to her Omega heat. Tanis is keeping her on a tight leash, even not letting Hannah go back to her Rymor home. On the other side, Bill is not letting the citizens of Rymor know that the Station is up and running. He has even declared Hannah dead. Dan Gilmore, Hannah’s counterpart in Rymor, knows the truth. He has taken counsel with Richard, a spiritualist of some power within the city.Dan’s creations Nate and Theo hatch a plan to get Tanis to Rymor to answer for Shadowland’s supposed crimes against Rymor. Crimes that Bill uses to start a war with the Shadowlands. War that Tanis has all the armies of the Shadowlands banded together to defend against. Does Hannah choose between Garren or Tanis? Does Bill get his war or Tanis?
I absolutely love LV Lane’s books they are so good and I can never get enough. I always look forward to the next one coming out. I swear my jaw dropped during this book. This is book 2 of the book and it dives more into each character. There are so many different POVs that it works so well with the story. This book had me hooked from the beginning of it.
I really love the FMC Hannah. She is learning to navigate who she is as an omega. I really love the characters that she is really starting to like. Garden is a possessive alpha that wants to take her, and she is drawn to him. Then you have the beta Red who I just love. I love the passion between Tanis and he doesn’t hold back.
I really can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book. There is so much passion and chemistry between all the characters I love it. LV Lane has kept me interested and I am really excited for the next book!
This story picks up where the first in the series ended. Hannah has turned the power back on to the wall and she has no idea what is going to happen next. Throughout the book Bill and Tanis plan a war. Bill continues to manipulate all of those around him and Tanis tries to figure out what is best for everyone. This story is written from multiple POV, there are a lot of characters in the story and almost everyone has their own chapter at some point. L.V. is a great world builder and manages to keep each person's perspective straight. I have a hard time keeping up with who some of the minor charters are and their roles but I'm sucked into the idea of what is going to happen next. This story again ends on a cliffhanger. If you have not read the first book in the series, you need to start there.
What a WILD RIDE! This is the stunning continuation of Hannah's foray into the Shadowlands. As with the first book, we get multiple POVs from a number of different characters, some good, some bad, and some neutral. Although how long these characters will stay neutral in this tumultous world, is anyone's guess. Hannah gets to know herself a little better in this book, and what it means to be an omega in this harsh world. She gets tougher and stronger with every trial, and I can't wait to see where she ends up. New relationships develop on a number of fronts, old ones are tested and danger grows near for every single person in this book. L.V Lane taks you on a wild journey filled with deceit and corruption, lies and truths, and SCORCHING passions. I can't freaking WAIT for the next book.
I could not put this book down, I was so engrossed with the storyline. The plot, the world building and the depth of the characters really shows even more in the 2nd book of the series. I just fell more and more in love with it 🖤
We pick up where book 1 left off. This book dives further into the world of Shadowland and everything that surrounds it. The darkness gets darker, the characters get more ruthless and the gore gets a lot more gorier 🤪
I honestly don’t know how to explain my reaction other than I LOVED EVERY SINGLE WORD!!
My emotions where over the place and Liv got quite a few messages from me as I was reading as I needed to talk to someone about everything that was happening, especially a certain part where I was like 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Quite a bit more spice in this book but honestly the spice is a little extra on a fabulous storyline. I love the characters then others I was to unalive but that’s how the story makes you feel…. And if a story makes me hate someone that much then it’s been written extremely well 🖤🖤
This is a multi pov book and the amount of pov can be overwhelming at the start but then you need it all to figure out what’s happening at different points 😍
This second installment of The Girl With the Grey Eyes will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author does a fantastic job of sucking us into the conflicts happening between Rymor and Shadowland. This backdrop let's us follow so many characters, tough alphas, an omega on a journey of discovery, a caring beta, the Jaru warriors, and of course the evil Bill. Ms. Lane never fails to give us great world building, steamy alpha/omega scenes, twists and turns, and a few surprises. I couldn't read this story fast enough. I look forward to the final book in the series which I hope will provide a HEA.
Part two is just as great as part one, we’re following the scientists in the Shadowlands, watching things develop between Hannah and the alphas, oh, and a fancy beta. Bill is still being a total jerk, he’s got some sort of messed up sense of entitlement and delusions of grandeur. It seems like these people just can’t catch a break.
If you haven’t read the first one, you might want to get to it, the second one is even better and if I know LV lane at all, I know that she’s gonna blow your freaking mind. Stay tuned for part three.
There is the story of an Omega and her finding her mates, but this story is really so much more! It feels like an epic fantasy tale almost to me. There is so much going on in the background and it is all addicting to read! I love that the books are so long because of all the things going on in the backgrounds and also because you get to see more of the Shadowlands. You also get to find out more about what Bill is doing in this one. It is almost like going down the rabbit hole! I really can't wait to find out where everything ends up! I'm so excited for the next one!
L.V. Lane has an exceptional ability to take you to another world and suck you in. Like the first book in the series, I was hooked on the story from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. This book has lots of plot twists and heat to keep you reaching more.
Despite his flaws, there is something about Tanis that fascinates me. Hannah continues to grow into self as a strong, tough woman despite her omega status. Together, they are explosive. But I will never discount Garren and Red either. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I love this story. It’s complicated and the different POV’s keeps you on your toes so you can piece the story together and keep it flowing. Our heroine Hannah is caught up in her feelings between two alphas and a beta but with nothing consistent. The antagonism between the leader of the Rymors and the Outlanders is reaching a breaking point and now what looks like the originals from the planet are about to come into play. A must read if you like to challenge yourself, not a soft read.
Good grief Bill is a HUGE *&%*&!!! I am only saying what we all know is true. Hannah sure knows or knew how to pick'em. This epic tale keeps getting more intriguing with all the twists and turns of life in the Shadowlands and Rymor, so many amazing characters and so much spying and espionage and who is just out for whom and who is out to save the innocent from a war? I do have a smile on my face with the way things are playing out and now I am going to call out Ms. Lane - Nameless, REALLY! My heart can't take these types of surprises.
This science fiction novel has a fantasy-esque feel and setting. The plot is exciting and action packed. The bad guy is truly evil. There are a LOT of spicy scenes, and I enjoyed it even though it is not at all romantic. The writing is gripping and immersive and the world building is vivid and fascinating. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases.
I received a free copy of this book, and I am voluntarily writing this review.
This is the second book in this fantasy series. It picks right up from the last one so you don’t feel like you missed a thing. Hannah is definitely learning more about her omega needs in this one. There are so many points of views and so many characters I felt like I struggled a little to keep up. The guys all have that alpha-hole thing going on which I love. There’s a lot happening in this book and if you enjoyed the first one, you’ll love this one.
I am obsessed with this book series. I love Omega books and this series is one of my favorite. The twist and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down. I personally am in love with Tanis and can't wait to see how this ends. But I also don't want it to ever end lol. I recommend this book because I don't believe anybody could be disappointed.
Their back. All the characters you've loved, and hated from Book one are back in book 2. Hannah is still trying to get used to and come to grips with what happened in the last book. Tanis and Garren are alpha males. Red is our beta male. There's a lot of other supporting characters are evil mastermind Bill. And Hannah' sister Ella who silently watches and waits. In the shadowland heroes stop Bill in time? Or is it gonna take over the world?
I am enjoying this series, it has a very detailed and complex story line and is definitely not a quick read. The world bui!ding is fantastic and the characters are very diverse and interesting. I do find myself having to stop and take breaks, giving my brain a rest due to the intensity of the plot and the vastness of characters and pov's. I am thoroughly invested in the story though and am looking forward to the next book.
This is a fast moving story you won’t what to put down. Hannah journeys into the Shadowlands to fix a critical power station. During her journey Hannah will try to control her omega side surrounded by alphas and betas. Each one of her loves are different bring something different to her. Can she pick just one? There is lots of loving coming Hannah’s way! I recommend this book to omegaverse lovers. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
WOW!!! This story keeps getting better and better as it progresses.
We start off exactly where book 2 left off, but this part of the story picks up a whole hell of a lot and literally kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. There is so much that happens in this part that I needed to hang on tightly to my kindle and try to calm my racing heart down. It was gripping, thrilling, extremely entertaining and explosively sexy.
Everything now is all leading up to what is sure to be one hell of an explosive conclusion, which I can’t wait for.
The multiple povs have grown on me a little, at least for certain characters. I like Nate and Theo, Dan, Hannah, Tanis. I could honestly do without Red. Coco, Ella, and Garren are ok. I’m a diehard Tanis-Hannah shipper. I’m still trying to connect with Hannah. Obviously I can’t stand Bill. This is definitely not a romance, that’s for sure and it’s been a slow burn. The series has definitely captivated me though, that’s for sure.

I like the type of stories L.V. Lane writes they have adventures and build interesting settings with complex storyline. This part has more of a polygamous relationship develop for the leading lady, but some very sad parts too... I think the loss of Edward and what happens with her sister are the most sad... The ending brings in another element which is a little confusing, but perhaps the grey eyes is a clue to the Master.
Enjoyed it, tho the multiple storylines was wearing on me a bit, simply because some felt too boring. Mostly enjoyed the main one with Hannah and Tanis. Also for some reason did not enjoy the addition of a beta into the mix, sorry Red but you just felt like an old man with a beer belly. Overall same level of penmanship as the first book, tho less pain and less dark, so in some ways this was an easier read.
