Charlotte has never stepped foot outside her Texas farmhouse, afraid of the post-apocalyptic world beyond her front door. When a handsome wolf shifter offers to escort her to safety, she reluctantly takes him up on the offer—but what will happen when she goes into heat and he realizes she’s his fated mate?
Originally part of the Wolves & Warriors Anthology, this is the prequel novella to Fated Mates of the Riftwolves: A New Omegaverse Series!

There’s a lot going on. Angels, aliens, dystopia, post apocalyptic, cyborgs, lycans, experimented on humans, plus.. ultimately it was a decent story, it’s just not for me.
This was a fab prequel for the series and it really had wonderful world building and great characters. Set in a post apocalyptic world, Charlotte and Elijah meet and travel together. He scents she is his mate but she seems to be going into heat on their journey and humans can't do that... Told in dual POV, this world is full of danger, secrets, twists, suspense, humour, violence and steamy romance. There is a fun combo of tropes in this story and they meshed together so well. Fated mates, omegaverse, shifter romance, alien romance...all the fun stuff to make this a page turner ;D
Something with this one just didn't hit quite right for me. I didn't love it, but didn't dislike it either. This is also part of the Wolves & Warriors Anthology.
🔥 “Pretty girls shouldn’t roam the woods at night. Or something big and scary might eat them.” ~~~ Charlotte has spent her life living with her grandparents, away from the dangerous outside world. I loved that, despite being so sheltered, she’s so brave and strong. And I really loved her sassy and determined side. She might appear timid and naive, but there is so much fire in her and I loved her so much!
Elijah is one dangerous male, who I couldn’t help but absolutely adore! He’s been Blessed by the Heavenly Host, but deemed defective since he couldn’t fully transform and doesn’t work well with a pack. Nevertheless, Elijah’s so confident, charming, strong and fiercely protective. Oh, and that delicious possessiveness! What a magnificent male!
I loved everything that happened between Charlotte and Elijah. After her grandparents disappear, Charlotte heads to the underground black market to seek passage from Dallas to Austin. There she meets Elijah, who’s determined to escape the Angels who are ramping up Blessings and mobilizing people for their celestial war. From the moment they met, their attraction was undeniable but Charlotte was determined to have nothing to do with the cocky male. Oh, I loved their banters and Elijah’s constant teasing. Even more, I loved him for being patient, respecting her wishes and being so fiercely protective of her. Those two were so perfect for each other and when they finally gave in to their undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot and filled with all the knotty goodness! But Charlotte might be more than everyone thinks she is. And Elijah is keeping dangerous secrets. Will their love be strong enough to prevail?
In addition, the worldbuilding was phenomenal! I always love how Chloe manages to bend genres and the spectacular mix of sci-fi, paranormal and omegaverse romance will satisfy even the most demanding reader. Even more, the alien angels, the danger and the suspense will keep you glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, Saved by the Lycanthrope is a spectacular story filled with danger, action, violence, secrets, twists, suspense, scorching hot romance and marvellous characters!
Saved by the Lycanthrope is a road romance—but this is a dystopian paranormal, so we’re not talking about a leisurely road trip! Charlotte has been living completely hidden in the ruins of Dallas with her grandparents—so hidden that she’s hasn’t left her house since she was a small child. If Charlotte has been sheltered, Elijah is the opposite. A wolf shifter who can’t shift, he’s been living on his own for years. When Charlotte leaves her home after her grandparents don’t return from a trip, she’s lucky to run into Elijah, who’s willing to escort her to the safe town her grandparents told her of.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, though not as much as the first two books Parker published in this world (although Saved by the Lycanthrope is chronologically first in the series). I struggled a bit with Charlotte’s character. She’s never left her grandparents’ house but she’s not only OK being outside, but making a journey of many miles? I would expect a fair amount of confusion, naivete, fear, and ignorance from someone who’s only interacted with a couple of people, and Charlotte came across as way too savvy for that.
I really loved Elijah. There are layers to his character that Parker only slowly reveals, and I enjoyed discovering more about him with every page. Together Charlotte and Elijah make a great couple, balancing one another well, and their sensual pull towards one another was irresistible.
At the end, there’s a situation at a shifter compound (not trying to spoil here) where some characters who aren’t fond of shifters were not only allowed to know about the compound but also to leave it. That’s such a security risk that I wondered why the alpha of the compound allowed it.
But Saved by the Lycanthrope was an exciting book, and I loved learning more about the world of the Riftwolves. Parker is an author who creates fascinating characters, and I for one can’t wait to see what she does next with a dystopian paranormal saga that’s right up my alley.
I’ve been itching to get back to this world after inhaling & adoring Reyes & Tilda’s story but I knew I would want to binge them, so I’ve been saving them for when I would have time to do so. The world is every bit as enchanting and intriguing as I remember. I think the whole alien angel Heavenly Host / Convergence / Post-apocalypse Texas with ABO werewolves is a LOT going on but it just *works*. It’s near impossible to put down because it’s so gripping and I am ready to dive into Grant’s story — and would be if it weren’t so late lol.
Elijah & Charlotte’s story is shorter being the prequel but it’s still full of feelings and info that helps connect a few pieces that I was missing from only having read Reyes’ book so far. I loved Elijah’s cocky attitude but complete adamancy on consent & knowing what’s going on, those traits are a bit at odds but it makes him a much more appealing love interest. Charlotte was naive but she was so ready to learn even if it meant being wrong, which is rare. Their chemistry was great too, and even if they came together pretty quickly due to the ABO dynamic, it didn’t feel like instalove. I loved all the alien wolfy bits & the sadder things too, it felt… like they earned their HEA. It wasn’t given to them despite the fated mates aspect. I like that!
Awesome world building, humanity has been subdued by “Angels” who are most likely aliens. They’ve subjected humanity to experimentation, of course causing hate and wars and crusades between the “blessed” and those still wholly human. Charolette was always kept hidden by her grandparents, to keep her safe from the clutches of the Angles who would experiment on her. One day when they don’t return from a supply run she sets out to find help. Elijah is quickly attracted to her, she fascinated him and they’re heading in the same direction. Even though she tries to discourage his attention she can’t help but fall for him after he saves her life twice, despite her distrust of what he is, she begins to trust him. After a few days Elijah realizes she is his mate, but with her sheltered upbringing he worries she will hate him when he reveals the past he is ashamed of. At the same time he is beginning to realize that Charlotte isn’t what she thinks she is, she is part wolf too, but doesn’t know it. But before he can come clean about his secrets and hers, they are apprehended by a pack that turns out to be her very own family that her grandparents tried to hide from her.
Charlotte and Elijah’s story is an exciting fast-paced paranormal fated mates romance novella brimming with action, danger, twists and turns, secrets, slow-burn romance, and steamy scenes. At 23-years-old, Charlotte has been hidden away in an underground bunker her entire life with her grandparents. Her Gran and Pa don’t return one day and she is forced to move above ground or starve. The world has become a very dangerous place since the Convergence decades ago. Along her journey, Charlotte meets a stunningly handsome lycanthrope named Elijah. He saves her (more than once) and the pull between them is irresistible. Surprise! They are mates and Elijah becomes fiercely protective of his girl.
This story was a fun read that blends together many different tropes. I loved that it was an omegaverse with non-human born shifters, lycans, aliens, and fated mates. I really enjoyed this story and am excited that there will be more books in the series!
I enjoyed the story 'Saved by the Lycanthrope' by Chloe Parker. It was set in post-apocalyptic times. A young woman who has lived a sheltered life living in isolation with her grandmother and grandfather sets out to find them when they do not return home after going to get supplies. They had told her what to do if something happened to them. As she is starting off on her journey, she is befriended a man who is traveling that way too. He, being a Lycanthrope can smell her scent because he has an acute sense of smell. To him she smells like a field of wildflowers, and he finds it very seductive. She is wary of him at first but as they make their way through Texas, she is protected by him several times when they face danger. He knows right away that they have a special bond together and he knows she feels something for him too. It is a good romantic adventure with likeable characters.
The world has never been the same since the celestial war. Charlotte’s grandparents left for a short trip and never returned. She has never left the house as they were afraid that she would be taken. She was also told what to do in such an eventuality and she goes in search of the resistance, but instead she finds Elijah. Elijah is a wolf and is about to leave Dallas when he see’s Charlotte. She intrigues him and cannot help feel protective of her. Both Charlotte and Elijah grow closer amid fearing for their safety and trying to stay alive on their journey to safety. This is a good start to the series and is a book that sets a good steamy romance amid the apocalyptic landscape. This is definitely worth a read.
In this post-apocalyptic world, Angels rule and their Blessings may be anything but. Angels or aliens, Blessings or experiments, either way in this world nothing is how it use to be.
With Blessings turning people into werewolves and those weres being used as hunting dogs. Paths cross when one such person is tired of being used to hunt down others and another trying to seek safety and family. These two, though strangers, have a growing bond that even they can't deny.
It has action and a fiery chemistry that ignites the story. I just wish there was more interaction with the Angels to get a better sense of the nebulous characters.
The story is written in the post apocalyptic era. Charlotte is left alone when her grandparents and taken away. She starts out from Dallas and ends up meeting Elijah. Elijah knows that Charlotte is his fated mate but they get a chance to get to know each other. There was action, twits, danger, great storyline, and the romance between the two was pretty steamy. The story was fast paced and enjoyable that kept me engrossed till the very end. Does Charlotte and Elijah get their HEA? Read and find out if Charlotte finds her grandparents.

This romance had really vivid world building and characterization. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, and there was plenty of action and danger to keep the stakes high and the pacing quick. I love the fact that this whole series is a really smooth mashup of sci-fi, paranormal, and post-apocalyptic romance. It is different than any other series that I have read before, and the author went all in and succeeded with the creative world building. I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed it much more than the previous book in this series.

Buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a deliciously dark story 😊. It is a wonderful combination of paranormal romance, alien romance, and omegaverse. By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

I love this book about Charlotte (a.k.a. Sunshine) and Elijah. It gave a good insight into how Charlotte was kept in the dark about a lot of what was going on around her. When her grandparents disappeared, she was forced to go and look for them. I like how Elijah came to the rescue and decided to find out more about her. What was interesting was that she was not afraid of Elijah when he went into protective mode to save her. Overall, I can't wait to read more about how they became what they are now. I am sure that anyone that enjoy reading about fated mates will enjoy reading this book.
The world building is stunning, and really drew me in. The characters were amazing, and I enjoyed the supporting characters as well, though Gran and Pa really pissed me off. There is a fated mates aspect to the story, but even with that, Charlotte and Elijah are allowed to get to know each other and overcome some of their problems before things get steamy. Definitely looking forward to reading more in this universe.

What a shock to her system, normally Charlotte stays inside, but she is forced to go out into the world when her Grandparents don't return from their supplies run. While she is out she meets Elijah, who just feels the need to protect her (and wants to claim her). I enjoyed Elijah and Charlotte's story, the secrets that come out, and I like the twists/danger of the story and steam between them.

These two are just all kinds of compelling. Their lives are all about secrets and lies and it is so great that they found each other. I liked that we spent so much time with them getting to know each other, and maybe themselves.

Not my favorite "werewolf” book but it took a really unique spin on it. I liked it a lot and Eli is adorable. Charlotte got on my nerves a little but it’s just because I can’t identify with with her. Overall good book.

Charlotte has been sheltered, protected from the post-apocalyptic world. Elijah is a bad boy with a dark past who just happens to turn into a wolf. This story is a wonderful prequel, setting up this series marvellously, with vivid imagery and an introduction to a complex world. A great start to this series.

A thrilling, action packed story with lots of steam. Charlotte and Elijah were very likeable in this great adventure. Twists, turns and secrets are revealed.

Charlotte has lived a sheltered life, but still has so much sass and strength. Her and Elijah are great together. They have so much passion and chemistry between them. I enjoyed their dialogue. The world building is descriptive and made it easier to get lost in the story.
I loved reading this fascinating story of the adventures of Charlotte and Elijah as they interact. There is plenty of action, adventure and steamy chemistry in this post-apocalypse world. A very entertaining story. This is my honest opinion.
I liked it, the plot or storyline had some merit, but the thing, at least for me, when authors are overly descriptive and use a lot of pages for intern monologues, it's because they don't thrust the reader to understand what they just wrote...
The first book in a series ( I made the mistake of reading book 3) However there was solid background for me to reference the catastrophic Armageddon that has led to this strange new world. And I was left confused
