The Girl with the Gray Eyes #3

The Master of the Switch

Rate this book
*The spellbinding conclusion of The Girl with the Gray Eyes.

I’ve escaped one monster, but the real monster, Bill, is still at large.

My enigmatic alpha leader, Tanis, is distant. My playful alpha, Garren, more so. Then there is my sweet beta, Red, giving me mixed signals. One moment attentive and caring, then the next, cruel.
And none of them are touching me in the way I crave, as all of them struggle with the parameters of sharing.

Bill’s warmongering becomes ever more aggressive in his quest to destroy Tanis. The risks he’s prepared to take are extreme.

The Armageddon switch could destroy all technology and civilization as we know it. If he finds it, Bill’s desire for revenge might just be enough for him to use it.

Content advisory for trilogy: Extremely dark, graphic content, MM, mind-games and manipulation, SA, violence, and gore. Heroes in this book range from sweet to pitch black.

I loved this final installment of The Girl with the Gray Eyes trilogy. As we were warned from the beginning, this isn’t truly a romance, yet the culmination of multiple plot threads leads up to an ending that has Hannah safely in the arms of her mates. So, let us call that a HEA and imagine them living in their version of peace and harmony (as much as Lord Tanis will ever be peaceful). It isn’t an easy journey. This book has some dark and painful paths that must first be traveled.

There were so many twists in this last book, some that were hinted at in book two, some that were absolutely a shock to the system in book three. I was unable to predict where the story would lead. Just when I expected one thing to happen, I’d be thrown for a loop.

By the end, I almost felt bad for the villain, Bill. Sure, he is probably the worst person in the world and most definitely evil, but I could see the reasoning behind his actions. He could almost be redeemed, but I love my MMCs with a dark side and might be biased toward giving any villain a redemption cycle. You might feel otherwise.

The steam has substantially increased in this final book. Throughout the trilogy, we went from a slow to a fast burn. In the Master of the Switch, Hannah is no longer the naïve omega from book one (and even book two). She is a s3xual being who has needs that must be met. She experiences her first heat cycle, is mated, and gives in to her alphas’ demands. In this book, there is MM content.

I loved the entire trilogy. I said before in a previous review how the books were giving me Robert Jordan vibes, and that holds true – If you grew up reading those types of books, and you are looking for a romance that has a multifaceted plotline with some smut in a futuristic omegaverse setting, this series is for you.

This was one of the best series I've ever read. Yes, it was a reverse harem but it wasn't the focus at all. The story, the plot was and what a story it was. Now, I have to see what else this author has written because jesus the plot was thick.

Nonstop action…

I loved this trilogy. So much happens in this last book. It’s so fast paced with so many moving parts that I had to read it twice! The last 25% of the book was nonstop full speed ahead. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride and then just dropped over an edge, there was no slowing down to see the sites or where the dust settled after everything was done.

There were things that I would have liked to have seen before the end though.
Also think Bill got off too easily. He deserved to suffer a bit more. Maybe keep bringing him back with the medical scanner and starting all over again.
I was really hoping for a Coco and Javid reunion. There was lots of discussions about their connection and I really wanted to see it on page. I thought for sure Theo was going to be added to Hannah’s harem. His attention towards Tanis and Hannah brought a lot of tension to the story at times.

Really the only thing I wanted more of was of their future as an epilogue instead of it being about Joshua. I wanted to see where they all ended up maybe like 10yrs later after everything. How the world was rebuilt and functioning. There was also lots of talk about breeding and Tanis having his junk fixed, Red too, so to see if they did have kids in the future would have been a nice close. I feel like there was a missed opportunity there.

Overall this whole trilogy is 5/5 ⭐️’s. It sucked me in and I couldn’t wait for the next one in the series to be released so I could find out what was going to happen next. This will definitely be one series I will read over and over again!

such a promising book fell short!

Spoiler alert!!!!!

Ok where to start first, I just finished the book and I was so frustrated and speechless at the end, the way she finished the book with so many lose ends that now I’m struggling to put my point across. Firstly too many side characters took too much of the story to not then know what happens to them at the end, Richard, Jon, Javid, coco, kein to name a few, I could do without their pov but if you want to tell us their story then finish their story don’t leave it hanging. Bills ending was anti climactic. I still don’t know the real catalyst in the ruining of their friendship and at the end for him to just give up like that was so out of character. The outliers, Sirius, how rymorians build their society back; nothing about any of these. I was expecting maybe tanis working toward a society with all three rymorians, outliers and shadowlanders working together. I was so looking forward to reading when coco met javid again and her navigating through her relationship with javid, Jon and Nate. Ella with pope and her husband ughhhh so many questions. With the amount of lose ends in the story it’s fair to say she should’ve come out with a fourth book. I absolutely loved her pray series and some of her other books hence the reason I jumped on this blindly without reading any reviews otherwise I dare say I wouldn’t have started this, It had such potential. Anyways 2 stars and purely for scenes between Hannah, tanis, garren and red.

WHAT. A. RIDE. This is the epic conclusion of the Girl with the Grey Eyes trilogy and in one word: Brilliant.
There were so many loose threads to tie together, so many characters with their own arcs, and L.V Lane managed to capture them all in this stunning conclusion.
Although there is definitely room for future stories - the daughter of the Jaru leader, and some of the Shadowlanders - this was the perfect way to end Hannah's story. Or at least her story for now.
As with the other books, this was told from multiple POVs, keeping the reader well informed of the decisions as they are made, and why they are made. Reading this actually reminded me of watching an episode of 24.... high stakes, high adrenaline and action packed.
I loved the relationship development between Hannah and her mates, and how each found his footing within the relationship, but I also loved that the story wasn't just centered around the romance. There was political intrigue, murder, mayhem, spies and even a space ship or two.
All in all a wonderful read, and highly recommended.

This is a very high action part of the series. There are places in this book where it switches between four or five different people and situations points of view. With the switch there is The master, Ailey, Hannah, Elise, Bill, Garren, Tanis, Red, Nate, Theo, Richard, Dan, to be honest I doubt I got all the names right. But Tanis and Garren's dad and Tanis' mom and Jon and Nate really should have met in this story... Like it would have been fun. I still kinda had a question or two at the end when Tanis is talking to the Master... Is Theo uhm More than a friend to Tanis? Is Hannah and her sister of the grey eyed Master's race? But anyways this was an epic end with lots of battle scenes and excitement. What about Ailey's daughter the half Shadowlander half Jura alpha female she was held by the gangs in the cage fighting pit... Certainly there are many possibilities for more stories...

WOW! What a fantastic and epic conclusion to what has been an amazing trilogy! This last part of the story blasts out of the gate, goes 100 miles and hour, and doesn’t stop until the end. It was dark, depraved, violent, emotional and so very deliciously steamy that I could not put it down. I caught myself turning the pages quickly because I needed all the answers, and I needed them now!

The imagery and world building was so creative and imaginative that it once again sucked me right into the story. It kept me riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anxiety over what was going to happen and hoping that Bill got the ending he definitely deserved!!

A fantastic, adrenaline packed and gripping story from start to finish, with fantastic characters and a storyline that we won’t soon forget.

The bittersweet ending to the trilogy! I'm so sad to say goodbye to these characters and I hope it isn't forever because this world that Liv has created is honestly one of my favourites!

Full of action that will have you biting your nails (seriously Liv you owe me a manicure 👀😂)

We jump back in where book 2 left off with multiple POVs, the loose ends are all tied up nicely with bows on top... Okay that may be a stretch but I don't wanna post spoilers 👀😂

Hannah, Tanis, Red, Garren and all the side characters will forever hold a special place in my heart and I know I will think of them often 🖤

Honestly I can't rate this series high enough, make yourself a cuppa, grab the biscuits and tissues, and dive right in for the ride of your life 😍

WOW, this is the conclusion to this way out dystopian, Omegaverse and edge of your seat page turning trilogy; and that leaves my fingers twitching because there were so many more fantastic characters still yet to explore and I wanted so much more of Tanis, Garren, Red and Hannah’s story.

The one character I had mixed feelings for was Bill. After finding out his back story, and the fact he was once Tanis’ best friend, had made me sad for what might have been.

In closing, if you want a fantastic series that keeps you deep in another world, and guessing what will happen next, then this is the series for you.

Way to hit it out of the park, yet again, L.V. Lane!

Loved, loved, loved every book in this series. More like this please!

I absolutely loved this series. I am sad this was the end of the series. I find myself hoping that L.V. Lane will write more stories set in this world. I would love to know so much more about it and all the characters that we got to know in this story. I would love to get a peek into Hannah, Tanis, Garren, and Red's future. I would love to see her fat, sassy, and happy surrounded with a brood of children.

I find myself kind of disappointed in Bill's ending. He got off way to easy for how evil he was. I hope we get a spinoff book/series that details how the people that escaped his clutches are recovering. I really need to know how Ella gets on after everything she has been thru. I also wouldn't mind learning more about Theo, and Nate. I love those two guys.

I'm gonna miss this world. I kind of find myself wishing that it would have ended a little differently. But I'm not sure how it could have and still be the great story that it was. There was some amazing world building in this story. And the characters were some of the best. I found myself wishing that I lived in this world. Even with the way things ended.. I still would love to be able to live there. This story is going to stay with me for a very long time.

This was the final in the trilogy. I absolutely loved this series that LV Lane wrote. It was so good. Others were some twists and turns I don’t expect and the characters did have to take a journey that wasn’t easy for them. But I loved the way everything came together and the different POVs that the books switched off from.

I really loved the FMC and her men. They went through a lot, but it was so worth the read. I loved the MMCs and their personalities, I felt it for so well with Hannah. And the steam sure was good. I liked that it didn’t overpower the story and was just enough.

Overall, good series! And I can’t wait to see what else LV Lane writes. Her books are so good and I always enjoy each and every one of them!

Gray eyes, war, love...

This is an awesome read! Hannah’s adventure continues. She finds several mates, each different but an integral part in their relationships. Tanis is a force to recon with. Garren is of the mind first up first mate and then there’s Red our beta who balances everything out. This book is a 5 alarm hot romance with explicit love scenes and tender loving. Will they survive the war. Who will find the master switch and will they use it. And Molly is back! I’m hoping she has her own story. There are many triggers in this book so if you are soft hearted this is not the book for you. I loved it.

This is the fabulous conclusion, and I couldn't imagine it ending any other way. I really loved the entire trilogy, and the epic, fantastical feel to the whole thing. The fast-pace never let up, and my attention stayed glued to the pages, and I really had a hard time putting it down the closer it got to the end. There were so many twists and turns, and while I know this isn't a romance and there's no HEA, I can't help picturing that happening in my head. If you love complex stories with many parts and characters, and you like your stories dark and intense, then this is one you won't want to miss. I know it's one that I'll read over and over again.

I inhaled this book, I opened it and gobbled it right up. I couldn't stop reading, I just loved this story/series and that it was about a setting and not just one person. Sure, Hannah was a common link to everyone, but she was not the story; her situation was a circumstance of Bill and his douchness (Yes, I made that word up). These characters are so well written you either love or hate them and can't help but get emotionally involved with what happens to them and their world.
This book wrapped up everything beautifully and just reminds the reader why we follow L.V. Lane and her dark, delicious and adventurous mind.

This trilogy is so incredibly epic!! I could barely put this book down! And the story was so addicting! Definitely not a short book by any means, but has so much story and so much going on! I recommend this book and this series for sure!!

I loved the world building so much and the characters are so in depth and amazing! I loved the ending! And there were things I didn't see coming that happened. So definitely some twists for me. I was almost sad when it ended because I loved the characters so much!

Epic and thrilling.

Honestly I’ve never read anything bad from LV Lane. This is absolutely epic on a whole other level than her other series, all her books are amazing but this was seriously thrilling. I absolutely could not put it down. I loved that it was multi POV and that included people other than those included in the romance. I loved seeing that outside perspective and getting a different view on the events that happened in the story.

But also, Tanis, Garren and Red… such an unlikely group but it absolutely worked.

I’m empty

This was more than I expected and yet what was delivered was at times gut wrenching. The hea Liv promised was there but at what cost? Garden, Red and Tanis were so much and Hannah handled them all. Her sister Ella paid a high price for her loyalty but when backed into a corner fought. The world building and destruction makes my mind boggle that this writer can write something of this magnitude. I loved this series and would love another book describing the aftermath and the relationship between our quad. Am I greedy for wanting more? Yes

To describe this series.. GAME OF THRONES X 100 & ON CRACK!!

One of my most favourite authors! I LOVED the sex scenes they were explosive! The 5 stars was for the love scenes. BUT too many characters, too many plots, far too much back and forth between insignificant characters! I actually had to go back and read parts over and over to even follow the storyline. Next book please take all those fabulous scenes in the ENTIRE series and put into one book..... IT WILL BE A BEST SELLER!!

Too much filler

The second book just needed to be longer. There was way too much extraneous filler in this one. Additionally, the holes and “resolutions” to certain situations leave way too much to be desired. And the epilogue was severely lacking. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars was because of the plot line. The plot line was interesting and engaging from the first to the last book. It’s too bad the author added a bunch of unnecessary fluff and screwed the pooch on the ending and epilogue.

Best trilogy ever!!

I was hooked from the first book. But it just continued to get better. It had me on the edge of my seat sometimes I was laughing so hard I was crying. Other times I was shaking with anger or fear. The majority of the time I was so turned on I was jealous of Hannah. I'm really sorry to see the books and because I enjoyed them so much I swear it's the best ever.

Hmmm

That was an interesting ending! I loved this series! I loved the world-building, a/b/o, alien, dark topics, twists/turns, etc. There were still a couple questions left by the end unanswered that I suppose were left open on purpose in case you decided to write more in the future.

If you’re looking for a book series with a well-thought out plot with a bit of romance added in, pick it up!

This is an incredible conclusion to The Girl with The Gray Eyes trilogy, a dystopian omegaverse. It keeps the fast paced that had started in the first book. The story is still non-stop with a lot of moving pieces with a lot of characters having their own story arcs. There were a lot of loose ends to tie up and this last book really delivered. This really picked up some heat in this book and sparks were flying! I highly recommend this series!

Great wrap up to the Girl with the Gray Eyes trilogy. Although I can’t call it a happily ever after, it was great to see the story lines come together. Hannah definitely grows into being an omega and their dark chemistry quickly takes off. This is the first book that I honestly felt compassion for the bad guy, Bill’s past story with Tanis helped bring everything together, even if he is still truly evil.

How does it all end?

This is the third book in the Girl with the Gray Eyes series and L.V. wraps up the story of Hannah. The series comes to a satisfying end and you see where all of the characters end up. Throughout the series LV has created a detailed world and elaborate characters. This story is not a standalone and you must read the first two to understand what is going on here.

4,5 stars and an urge to get more stories from this world

I adore the world building and lore in this series, and despite being a lot more plot and politics heavy than I'm used to reading it kept me engaged and excited the whole way through.
I wish we'd gotten to see even more of certain characters, like Nate, Coco, Theo and Dan, and how they handled and settled into all the changes.

I enjoyed it a lot and would love to explore this world's history and future more!

The Master of the Switch is the third and finale book in The Girl with the Gray Eyes Series by L.V. Lane. This book picks up right where book two left off. We're still following Hannah, Garren, Tanis, and Red in this cool world. This was the last book, so no cliff hanger in this one like the others! Loved it. Loved Hannah and her people. Looking forward to more from L.V. Lane.

What an epic ending to this series. There was definitely a lot going on all at once and just when I thought I knew what was happening, Ms. Lane changes things up. Kept me entertained the whole time. I do have some questions though, but unless there is a spin-off involving those specific characters, not sure they would get answered. But yeah, overall, a wonderfully read!

Great series

True to the book summary, the heroes come in all forms. The characters are very well written with back story for understanding without interfering with the current plot.
The books will pull you in. The world, the characters, the twists and turns.
I absolutely loved this story! Highly recommend. Could easily be made into a series i would watch.

Decent ending to the series, but I was a little surprised at how it ended between Bill and Tanis. I just don’t feel like there was enough of a backstory there. I felt like everything was a little rushed at the end and not fully fleshed out, if that makes sense. The series overall definitely held my interest and intrigued me; it was very unique. I just wanted a little more for this last book.

I was not prepared for the way this book ended.

It was full of action, multiple POV’s, and a significant amount of smut. Basically, all the things that I enjoy in a book written by this author. (one of my top five favorite authors.)

Sad to see another series ending, but completely blown away by how awesome this series was. Highly recommend it along side EVERY other book this author has written.
