The Sangres Motorcycle Club are outlaws, notorious for drug-running, illegal weapons sales, and possibly even murder. But what they don’t know is that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has a man on the inside....
Can Darrin “Koz” Kozlowski survive long enough to bring them down from within?
KOZ tells the tale of how ATF agent Darrin “Koz” Kozlowski pulled off one of the largest organized crime busts in a generation. This gritty, LA-after-dark story dives deep into the world of one of the most dangerous motorcycle clubs in Los Angeles, bringing these unbelievable true events to life.
“Koz” works his way up the club ranks. But the more entrenched he becomes, the more the stakes grow and spiral. Either he proves he’s as ruthless as his Sangres brothers, or he risks his and his family’s lives. As the story speeds toward its conclusion, the question becomes: Will Koz unearth the Sangres’ dark secret? Or will he blow his cover and be run down before getting the chance?
Taylor Kitsch (Waco) and Kate Mara (House of Cards) star in this fast-paced, immersive Audible Original based on a true story. Its format features scripted storytelling from an all-star cast, and includes interview excerpts from the real Darrin “Koz” Kozlowski, allowing listeners to dive deeper into his psyche for the first time.
Almost pass this up because I’m not into motorcycle gang stories. I saw Taylor Kitsch’s name and thought why the hell not so I listened to the 1 minute trailer. The background noise was so loud that I have no clue what was going on. I may have given up if the first episode didn’t automatically play.
Well, I couldn’t put this down! When I’m not listening to the book I was thinking about it. And the teaser at the end? Please, oh please make another one. An interesting undercover story, every episode was filled with suspense. I love the true crime feel with the real ATF Special Agent Darrin “Koz” Kozlowski's insights.
I will listen to everything, I mean EVERYTHING Taylor Kitsch narrates. 🙌❤️🥰
Free with Audible. Nine episodes (about 20-30 mins each), a full cast, great sound effects, and editing. Highly recommend it for mystery, true crime, and thriller listeners.
I found this on Audible one day and it sounded interesting. I actually ended up REALLY enjoying this "based on a true story" portrayal.
We get to meet Koz, who in real life was actually an undercover ATF agent who goes undercover in a motorcycle club in California. This was one of those "full cast" productions that is like a movie in your head.
Taylor Kitsch does a great job as the MC and has a wonderful supporting cast. It was fun to also hear the "real" Koz throughout the story - it added that small bit of realism to everything.
This was 10 great episodes with a satisfying conclusion.
Okay, anyone who is into True Crime, crime fiction, MC fiction... will LOVE this! I was a huge fan of the History Channel TV series Gangland Undercover, the Charles Falco drama... So when I saw this Podcast I was very excited. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Now, as an avid reader I have a very active imagination, and I found listening to this podcast to be 100% as enjoyable as when I watched Gangland.
Most of the story is told via audio reenactment, but the intermittent interview audio with the real Koz was a nice touch. The cast was amazing, the voice actors really hit it outta the park. The whole thing feels like you're listening to the soundtrack of an action movie, and the storyline flows beautifully. There were even a couple of episodes where there were flashbacks to previous dates to give background which were seamlessly executed. And the suspense!!! Even knowing the outcome (obviously Koz goes on to infiltrate another club), I was on the edge of my seat. Like I'm talking actually blurting out loud "No! Why!? Don't do/say that, you'll blow your cover!!" Definitely binged the whole series on a day off, not gonna lie.
Now all I need to know is... will there be more seasons about different club infiltrations? PLEASE tell me there will!
Nothing could have prepared me for what went down in West Virginia …
Closing this audiobook like that implies that Koz continued (continues?) to have pulse-pounding, life-threatening assignments with the ATF.
And Bex is there by his side the entire way. The child(?) actress who voiced Jamie was also wonderful.
Thanks, Mr. Kitsch, for producing this, and all the staff & Audible folks for making Koz’s story available for us common folk. Thanks to the ATF for continually battling groups who perpetuate such violence and crime and trying their darnedest to keep as many of us safe.
I’m not sure if it was the narration that really hooked me, the overall theme or even the whole cast, but I was into it the entire time. I felt bad for Darrin. Here’s a family man who is thrust into a deep cover assignment (don’t recall if it was his choice or not). I’m just glad that he wasn’t killed at any point of the assignment. I’m hoping I can find the audio book about the guy who did the same with the Hell’s Angels.

A good "undercover" story, though I was expecting more of a climax from the story. I'm assuming that this is a true story, and that's why it was heavier on characters than on plot. An enjoyable story nonetheless.
This was an amazing podcast! I loved every second of it, especially the audio graphics! The story was fantastic, very captivating. I liked that it was sprinkled throughout with real audio clips from the real Koz. The pacing was great, too. It kept you on the edge of your seat, especially once it started looking like Koz might be forgetting it was all fake! Taylor Kitsch did a great job narrating, and it was easy to picture the scenes as it went along. My only complaint is that there wasn't more! I wanted to hear more about the trials that happened afterwards and the evidence and/or consequences that may have come about from Koz's confessions. I also was upset that it ended on such a cliff hanger. What happened in West Virginia?!?!?!? I really need to know! Producers, please invest in a season 2!
This was an excellent audio performance. The story, the production and the performers all brought it to life. I liatened on a long drive but this invoked the radio days of the last century. I could picture myself listening to this in my family room. I hope this productions continue as my w8fe failing vision this is increasingly becoming or entertainment of choice.
Going in knowing this was based on fact, I was already incredibly interested, but then having Taylor Kitsch as a narrator!? BONUS! I highly reccomend reading up more on Darrin, this production was great, but he's had a WILD life and it was fun to read about. I think if non fiction was presented like this more often people would be more apt to dig in, especially now.
I was very invested in this story. I believe it’s based on a true story. Either way it was very well done and the cast, script were great. It was like I was watching a TV series with my eyes closed. So good.
This is amazing!! I’m waiting for the next book to come out, seeing as they left us at a cliffhanger. I can’t say anything else without giving any of this book away so I’m done.
As a fan of SOA this was right up my alley and I could see this televised. The production was great and Taylor Kitsch and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job.
