The Nuremberg Code: 75th Anniversary Commemorative Edition (Multi-Language Edition)

Rate this book
An essential reference every person should have at hand. Now in a newly expanded multi-language edition, with commentary by Vera Sharav (Holocaust survivor and medical rights advocate).

"Drafted at the conclusion of a series of trials of Nazi doctors who'd been charged of crimes - like murder and falsifying death certificates on behalf of their employer, the German government - the Nuremberg Code was the 20th century's first attempt to articulate specific ethical guidelines in an attempt to protect patients from systematic abuses by doctors, health care practitioners, and medical systems.

The Code was drafted in response to the horror of an entire country's medical system being politicized, and "science" being used to justify mass crimes against humanity in which physicians played a key role. In fact, no profession had a higher percentage of Nazi party members than the medical profession.

Until the publication of this book, it was impossible to buy a book or download an eBook that was produced specifically for the purpose of making sure every human being has the opportunity to hold this important document in their own hands.

We are currently working on a second book with the provisional "The Nuremberg Code and Its Modern Enemies" where we will explore potential reasons why the 75th anniversary of the Code was almost universally ignored by the medical ethics profession, and why, starting in 2020, attempts to undermine the Code's authority have become a cottage industry for literally dozens of writers."

Time Magazine (March, 2014) credited Ken McCarthy with being the person who had the fundamental insight that made it possible to transform the Internet from a non-commercial technical platform to the world's biggest marketplace and publishing platform.

His insight? That clicks had a commercial value and that their value was variable depending on audience. This insight is literally the foundation that made online businesses like Google and Facebook and millions of others possible.

In addition to this contribution, Ken was also:

1) the first to publish an article about email as a marketing tool in a marketing industry publication (1994)

2) one of the primary pioneers of the banner ad (1994)

3) early pioneer of auto-responder marketing (1996)

4) early pioneer of pay-per-click marketing (2001)

5) introduced "push button" audio to the Internet (2002), the foundation of the podcasting industry

6) early pioneer of practical online video marketing (2005), though he published the first article on the subject in 1994, and

7) early pioneer of mobile marketing (2008)

When Brian Kurtz picked the top living marketing people on the planet to honor the memory of Direct Marketing Hall of Fame legend Marty Edelson, he chose Jay Abraham, Gary Bencivenga, Dan Kennedy, Joe Sugarman, Greg Renker and Ken, along with Ken's student Perry Marshall, to represent the very best of the best in all mediums - direct mail, infomercials, catalog sales and Internet.

All that and a phenomenal educator too.

Ken organized and sponsored the first conference ever held on the subject of business on the World Wide Web, way back in 1994.

In 2002, when everyone else in the market had shut down after 9/11, and the Dotcom Crash, and declared that opportunities on the Internet "over", Ken launched the most important and influential Internet marketing seminar series of all time: The System Seminar.

Thousands of students attended over the years from twenty-three countries and five continents and many went on to become leaders in the industry.

In the System Seminar, Ken laid down the fundamentals of Internet marketing still used today: opt-in, email follow up, A/B split testing, knowing your conversion rates, multiple forms of media (text, photos, audio, video), "virtual" seminars, and high quality ad copy.

Everyone should have a copy! The introduction & full speech provided by the authors are also important reads. Timely that we remember this code after 75 yrs. History is easily and often forgotten. We must never forget!

Read this!

If we forget history, we are doomed to repeat it. I don't know what learned person said this, but I agree 100%. The Nuremberg Code was written to protect patients from medical experimentation after the Nazi's performed atrocious experiments and perfected ways to exterminate those they felt didn't deserve to live. We didn't learn. Our rights were stripped from us during Covid. If you want a better understanding and to prevent this happening again, this is a good start.

This is a book that shouldn’t be kept on anyone’s shelf. We need to spread the knowledge of history within this book because those of us that are familiar with the history behind the book knows that the past always circles around again in life. Hence Covid!!

An important short read. Be sure to read the publisher notes and Vera Sharave's full speech. Should be a mandatory read in high school. But.. those who control the education control what is taught...
