Mark Dawson was born in Lowestoft and grew up in Manchester and Chicago. He has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, "The Art of Falling Apart" and "Subpoena Colada" have been published in multiple languages.
He is currently writing two series. Soho Noir is set in the West End of London between 1940 and 1970. The first book in the series, "The Black Mile", deals with the (real life but little known) serial killer who operated in the area during the Blitz. "The Imposter" traces the journey of a criminal family (think The Sopranos in austerity London and you'd be on the right track).
The John Milton series features a disgruntled special agent who aims to help people to make amends for the terrible things that he has done. Mark, as a child of the 80s, will freely admit that he watched a lot of The Equalizer in his youth.
I've just spent the most enjoyable time reading 21 books of the Milton series. And I'm greedy, I want more, I knew w there's another in the series, and I will just have to buy it, then I can say I've read them all. I got to the last page of 21, turned and it ended, my reaction was Oh no..... I don't want to stop. I'm so lucky that I love reading, but even luckier because I found Mr Dawson. Having the box sets had meant I just keep reading, and it's been a joy from start to finish. I know without a shadow of a doubt I will go back and read the off shoots of Milton, I know what I mean, but if it sounds like double Dutch to you, believe me, once you start reading ANYTHING by Mark Dawson, you are hooked for life. I am so very grateful that we have such brilliant authors that make such an impact on our lives. If I could give 5000 stars I would do. And if anyone is thinking, boy, is she weird, well yes I am,but read the books Then tell me I'm weird. Thank you Thank you Thank you Mr Mark Dawson, it's been a blast xxx
Milton and Dawson gets better and better. Addictive and thought provoking with a hero assimilating to 007 but proper. Baggsy the right to play Milton in any tv adaptation!
It was a good read. They all have been good. Done hearing about the AA stuff. Obviously the author had problems and wants to tell everyone he’s better but I don’t need to hear it in ALL 21 BOOKS SO FAR!
Mark Dawson racks up the tension like no other. Edge of seat from first page to last to keep the adrenaline flowimg. Can't wait for book 22. Thank you Mark Dawson.
