You’d think having the gift of second sight would make my life feel more secure. Instead, I’m left with sleepless nights, a body count higher than my bestie, Herculeia, and an unfinished five-year plan.
Was a juicy benefits package with an entire stable of Skarsgards too much to ask for?
Officially burned out, I decide to extend my business trip to Stockholm by two weeks—determined to forget my troubles by stuffing my face with Swedish meatballs.
And I’m not just talking about the food.
When I meet the sexiest meatball right out of the gate, I think the tides are finally turning in my favor.
Too bad my prophetic visions failed me once again.
Now I’m the one on hot-bod monster island, but instead of being chained to the bed for fun, it’s more a hostage situation.
I can still work with that.
The question is, can I convince my three mythological captors to abandon their doomsday plot for eternity with me? Or is our fate already set in stone?

C. Rochelle here! I’m a naughty but sweet, introverted, Aquarius weirdo who believes a sharp sense of humor is the sexiest trait, loves shaking my booty to Prince, and have never met a cheese I didn’t like. Oh, and I write spicy Paranormal/Sci-Fi/Monster Why Choose + MM, MFF & MMF romance with dark, naughty humor and a #loveislove mentality.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️½ Men who looked like my ideal type in human form who could also sprout freak nasty accessories between the sheets? Count me the fuck in with a side of Swedish meatballs. I can’t wait to eat some Swedish meatballs… And dick.
I loved this book! Perfect for monster lovers everywhere. I laughed and smiled throughout, even weathered the angst bits with minor pain. The humor, sexual innuendos, and irreverent touches on Norse Mythology made this such a great read. It's an easy one-sitting binge-read.
This is just the right type of book to read if you're looking for a palate cleanser after a slew of high angst or super dark reads. You get a strong, snarky, sexually confident FMC who meets her fated mates – sexy monsters straight out of Norse mythology.
This is a fast-burn and spicy romance with scenes in all combinations of MF, MM, MMF, and MMMF. There are fancy peens, fancy tongues, special orifices, and lots of hole filling, plus sir/master/daddy dynamics.
This book can be read as a standalone in the Monstrously Mythic series, though characters from the earlier duet make appearances here, and certain plot points will be spoiled if this book is read first.
Genre: Monster Romance (PNR) Tropes/Features: Norse mythology, found family, fated mates, mild enemies to lovers, dark humor, half-human seer FMC, MMCs from Norse Mythology/Ragnarök, fancy peens/tongues/orifices, sex positivity, light kidnapping, breeding kink, sir/master/daddy dynamics, pegging, knotting, mating Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV Relationship Type: Why Choose – MMMF, fast burn, spicy Book Type/Ending: Standalone in the Monstrously Mythic series with HEA, recommended to read in order TW/CW: Available in book
To say that I loved reading VIFOH is an understatement! C. Rochelle words sucked me in and kept me locked in Iolas' world. Surt, Jor, and Fen are some of my favorite monsters, and Cs monster loving writing is one I will always recommend to those who are monster lovers. I loved that I was able to read VIFOH without reading Hurceleia and understand the world. It's definitely one of my top 5 monster reads of the year!
This book is about Iola, (OR IS IT!? couchJÖRcough) the BBB bestie of Leia (12 Hunks of Herculeia). What is BBB you ask? Great question. Bisexual Boss Bitch. This woman knows her way around a strap🍆 and reeling in monsters and their big attitudes but can’t figure out her feelings and I VIBE WITH THAT.
Relationship dynamics: MF/MM/MM/FMMM - all that to say there are several pairs within this polycule and they’re adorable.
Reading a book by C. Rochelle is always such a treat, and her new release was no different.
I couldn’t wait to get to know Iola better - we see her quite a bit in Herculeia’s books, and I was really happy to see her getting her own book (and stable!).
Her men were such a rollercoaster! Jör is my absolute favourite, precious little beibe and I can’t believe C. Rochelle turned the world ending serpent into such a golden retriever! I loved every single scene he was in. Fen is such a caretaker, and I loved seeing him gradually open up to Iola and the others. He’s been torn between Jör and Surt for so long that having someone else around is such a relief for him.
Surt is our resident grumpy boy and he’s determined to reach his goal no matter what. He has a single-minded focus and puts everyone into little boxes, even if it’s detrimental to his relationship with them. I really enjoyed seeing him and Iola verbally spar, and the moment he finally opens up to her is beautiful.
The banter in this book is unmatched - I laughed so hard! I always know that C. Rochelle’s books are going to be a blast, and I love all the creative banter and one-liners that pepper this book.
The plot and the mythology aspects were really interesting - you can tell the author put a lot of time into the research. I loved learning more about Norse mythology!
As always, the smut in this book is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 definitely make sure to read the content warnings, as it may not be for everyone.
I had no idea what was happening most of the time. C. Rochelle has a very clear writing style and it almost seems like if you’ve read one you’ve read them all. Xander is Simon is Iola Butch is Wolfgang is Jor
I give tons of props for the research involved in creating these stories but it seemed lacking. There was a lot of rambling and a vague plot with some weird ass monster sex going on. It was never really clear to me why the guys kidnapped Iola to begin with, they already had their plan so I’m not sure why her being there made a difference. Maybe if book started out with one of their POVs so the plot was laid out it would’ve helped? I really don’t know. No one really spoke to eachother out loud but they were all mates? Maybe it’s me and daddy kink ain’t my thang but the way jor spoke was kinda of infantile and gave me the icks. The guys descriptions were pretty vague, they were human-ish? But being mates with Iola gave them their powers back and they could partially shift? I’m guessing there’s going to be another book with Hazun and some washed ashore human?
Ugh I was so disappointed with this book! When I finished Leia's stories and saw that Iola was going to have a book I was super excited and kept looking when it was going to be released, that might've hindered me.
This book was lacking (the author admits her muse left her from this book to work on other projects and sadly it shows) it didn't have the same depth and character development as Leia's books. Not to mention for someone who was a unapologetic HO there wasn't that much sex. She didn't even sleep with one of her mates until the 80% mark. Hated Surt and even though they were mates I would've cheered had Iola left his ass some where.
It was odd too that most of the sex scenes were threesomes, I would've liked to have seen Iola with Fen a lot more or something. You could tell there was a favorite mate and it's not the one I would've chosen.
Can't wait for the Asian version that will come out in the future (at least I think that's what Hazan was we'll see I guess.)
This was a Hel of a lot of fun. It was great to see Iola finally get her stable of Skarsgards. While actually far less spicy than I expected, there was still plenty of monster heihei to go around, and seeing the dynamics between the three men and Iola was a treat - love her as the domme. The angst is high with all the stubborn personalities between Iola, Fen, and Surtr but, its balanced nicely with the pure golden retriever energy brought by Jor. The growth of letting go of what you think your life is supposed to be with what it could be was a nice journey for all of them. My only gripe is that I would have liked to see more relationship building from the group, especially between Iola and Surtr, who didn't seem to even get along.
I absolutely love C Rochelle’s writing style. I love the inner commentary. I love the little things she adds like “c0ck on the half shell” and “petty pü$$y perfume”. How’s she come up with this? It’s hilarious.
Iola is determined to find some monster D in her two week vacation. It finds her instead. She has to work for it but she sure gets it. Luckily she brought a suitcase full of toys. Get it gurllll! She is feisty and doesn’t back down from any of the big bads she meets.
Jor was adorable. Fen was Daddy serious. Surt was ahole Sir. Iola was a confident Domme. Loved their dynamic. Loved everyone’s character development. Love the Norse mythology sprinkled throughout the entire book. Overall great read!
What can I saw that I haven’t already said about Corrine’s writing? I loved getting to find out more about Iola, and her hunks this time around as well as seeing the group dynamics change. Banter? 5/5 always Mythology and world building? 5/5 Characters 5/5 love me a golden retriever and a grumpster Spice? 100/5 burn the house down hot, be prepared to fan yourself. 5/5 would recommend, purchase a physical copy and read again.
So it pains me to write this review. I rounded it up to 3 stars because it hurt me to leave it at 2. Let me start by saying that Herculeia’s books is a masterpiece. It was a five star read for me and I absolutely adored it. Which is why when I noticed that Iola had her own book with her own monsters I was extremely excited and got the audiobook at once, unfortunately for me the book just didn’t deliver.
I have to admit that I was not interested in the plot at all, I found it a bit boring, and I was just not invested in the outcome.
The romantic aspect was just lacking for me, one of the love interest absolutely hates Iola and is an asshole during the whole book so I can’t really understand where the falling in love came from. Jör felt like the protagonist most of the time, and I did adore him, and then Fen’s distance just didn’t make sense, it was just all over the place, I was just very confused, I didn’t feel the love, I didn’t feel the romance, I didn’t see character development, I just put it at 2X, so I could finish it quickly and get it over with honestly.
I do want to point out that I absolutely absolutely adore Rochelle‘s books and if anyone reads this book as their first one, this shouldn’t discourage you from checking out her other stories because for me, they are all five star books, unfortunately it was a miss for me on this one.
I can't get enough of this author. Some love her writing and some hate it. I love it. They are funny as hell.
Iola we got to know in the Herculeia duet, we knew she was a Seer. In this book we got to know her even more and so does the Norse men. I Don't understand why she chose these three but I'm all here for it. The diffenrece in the men are phenomenal, they fit together.
I think it's the first time I've read a book with the FMC having a strap-on and being a Dom. LOVE IT. It fits Iola so good!
I often forget to highlight stuff but this time I did highlight some. Not much but I just couldn't not do it. This book was so damn funny at times I almost peed myself. And I rooted for Io so much!
Surprincingly the surly Surtr wasn't my favorite, nor was the caring Fenrir, Jörmungandr was my fave. The danger noodle deluxe. He actually had me in a chokehold and wouldn't let go. Not that he needed to, I wouldn't let him go.
It took me some time to actually finish reading it because I wan't in the right mood for it. Now I need to read her MM series. Heard great things... *wink*
3.5 rounded up. Fun little book - looking forward to the next one. I disagree with the line in the author's note about the Leia duet actually tying up all the loose ends in that story (nope, see other reviews on those books about that - so many questions left unanswered). BUT the inability of the writing to actually tie up loose ends in those first two allowed me to be less annoyed with this one (which also doesn't tie up all the loose plot threads in this one either). Basically, I've resigned myself to not getting all the answers for the blatant dangling plot holes (pun slightly intended) if I'm reading anything C Rochelle. It's annoying, but I like the mythology aspects enough to tolerate it for this series only (though not enough to not gripe about it). Tried some of the other series and just DNF'd those. So, it is 100% the mythological retellings keeping me with this one.
I love Iola’s story. It’s very steamy and a bit dramatic. The side characters are great (looking at you, Hazun). I like that it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows right away. There’s a bit of resistance that makes it more exciting. The pure research that went into this book shines through in the myths and various words/phrases that are used. I enjoy that it isn’t entirely made up, even if liberties are taken on the mythos. A very spicy, plot filled book by the amazing C Rochelle. Definitely loved it!
C. Rochelle is the Queen of smutty one-liners, oscillating, undulating monster...appendages, and golden retriever bois. Io is a messy mess as she flits aimlessly about, looking for connection but afraid of commitment. Surt, Fen, and Jor are hard set on taking what they thought was owed. Their story is about expecting one thing but deserving so much more. Willful ignorance, stubbornness, lack of communication, and fear stand in their way. Can they all overcome those obstacles to receive their just rewards?
If you have read C. Rochelle's 12 Hunks of Herculia you will have met the FMC of this story - Iola. Iola is short, sassy, strong-willed and desperate to have her own harem of Skarsgards. This story is fast paced, easy to read, hilarious and chock full of... spice. There is also plenty of romantic moments, visits from some old friends, mythology surprises, swords... crossing and a vulnerable world serpent. Really, what more could you want? A spicy paranormal RH romance loosely based on Nordic mythology.
Iola gets her Norse men and they sound fine as fuck, with added monster peens. The author gave me a kink that I wanted, pegging. I only wished there was more of it. But we get some BDSM in this book and it is delicious. 3 doms and a submissive and the submissive is to die for. He is so lovely and sweet. My heart melts for Fen. He is the heart of the group. Once again we have multi-relationships, adventure, comedy and strong female characters. Herculeia and some of her men even make an appearance.
This was a fun story! I loved that the fmc took a more dominant role and it was amusing to see how the more dominant males reacted to her. I absolutely adore the danger noodle and how he knew exactly what he wanted.
Their story was pretty cute and it was interesting to see the adventure they went on to get what they thought they wanted only to end up exactly where they needed to be.
I hope there’s going to be more books like this based on creatures of mythology from around the world finding a mate to share and getting their happily ever after.
I honestly can't get enough of C Rochelles writing. I only recently discovered her as an author, but have very quickly read her entire back catalogue.
Valhalla is Full of Hunks has everything you would expect from one of her books. I loved reading it. It took me out of my everyday life and transported me to Sweden and Island inhabited by 3 monsters.
Love love this universe. I don't think I have laughed so hard or identified with a FMCs internal monologue more then I did with Iola. Even with all the banter and spice the character had their own issues and hung ups they needed to work though to fully embrace their relationships. I can't wait for the be t one in this series.
I read Lisa's duet before this. I actually almost didn't read.this because I found Iola a little annoying in the duet. I am SO glad I decided to. This book was fantastic!
I loved all the dynamics and play times! It was a really cool take on bedroom dynamics. Iola is a boss, and I'm quite happy with how her vacation turned out!
3.5 stars This was a really fun read if you don't read into it too much. Plot holes? For sure. But triple monster smut? Here for it. It was campy and it knew it. It made no apologies. It wasn't trying to be something other than what it is and I appreciate that. It made me giggle, was decently researched on the mythology front, and had a take-no-shit FMC.
A little slower than Heraculeia’s book, but still 100% amazing. I loved Iola and I’m so glad she got her own monster mates. I loved the banter they all had. And Jor is amazing!
This is an easy and fun read with as much a sexy times as plot. A great cast of characters with Decent development To keep it going. I did not read the 1st book 1st, but Don't feel that I missed out.
what a refreshing book, modern humor and themes but with Norse gods sign me up. it was hilarious and smutty, with a great plot. I could rave all day about this book. the spice was chefs kiss, but also the perfect amount. the plot was fantastic and keeps you on your toes.
