In Book Two of this Mystic Meteor Tale, the meddling spirit Lily is back in matchmaking mode, working with a few new cohorts to help two women find their Evermore.
Raven, a reclusive but wealthy video game developer, needs more than just a paid caretaker; she needs true healing to melt the cold core of her deeply wounded heart. She’s lived her entire life without love and trusts no one. Only once did Raven allow anyone close, but it wasn’t to be, and she vowed Nevermore!
Lynn, a gifted empath, seeks a safe haven not only for herself but for a little girl that she’s sworn to protect. Like Raven, she experienced an early childhood rejection. Although she didn’t close herself off to others, Lynn has never shared herself entirely with another. It has kept her moving on from one relationship to another.
The advent of a spectral raven starts these women down a path that can potentially redress these old hurts if only they can open their hearts to each other. Join these two women in their quest to discover if the spirits and fate will bring them together or tear them apart.
Elle Hyden embarked on a new phase of her life in 2015 when she retired, allowing her to indulge in her favorite pastime, reading. Inspired by the other authors’ stories and using what her mother had called an overactive imagination, she decided to write a few of her own.
She has already begun work on the third book in this series.
I absolutely loved every part of this story. It's well written and the author describes things so vividly and beautifully. Evermore (book 2 in A mystic Meteor Tale series) will take you on an emotional trip. Meddling spirits, a video games developer, a gifted empath, an adorable but traumatized little girl and a cute dog are the main characters. Finding your “evermore” is not an easy task and the road to it is very bumpy. I can highly recommend this series.
Loved everything about this book. Very well written pulls you in until you really care about the characters. For me that is the sign of a great story. Highly recommend.
Lynn takes a job working for Raven and as they finally start getting to know one another they realise they have more in common than they first thought. However, it quickly becomes apparent to Raven that something more has happened to bring Lynn, and her small family into her life, and if she wants to keep them a part of it, she must help, fight, and change some of her stubborn ways, just as she has been guided to.
Such a great story, with a lot of heart and many lessons for both Lynn and Raven as Lily, a matchmaking spirit brings them together because they are perfect for one another. I loved the instant tension between Lynn and Raven, especially when Raven realised Lynn had a child and disabled pet that made up her family along with her. Raven ends up surrounded by so much love and support that eventually Lynn has broken down her walls and then they really start to understand what has happened to bring them together.
It is only Raven who can help Lynn, she is in such a situation and their coming together is something Lynn knows there is more to. Destiny, Lynn’s daughter is a show stealer, she not only won over Raven’s heart but mine to. I loved how much diversity Elle had brought to the story to, it made the story so much more sentimental but I really connected with it. The comparison between Raven’s condition and how Cleo, Lynn and Destiny’s beloved dog had a disability was a nice tie in for Lily to be able to make Raven realise that she needed to change.
A great story and addition to the Mystic Meteor Tales series. It was great to have Lily back meddling, and lovely to watch this amazing connection between Lynn and Raven, as Raven’s walls came down and she finally accepted the love she deserved.
Very well written love story two lonely souls. A little spiritual intervention to bring them together. A little help from a small child and little dog. The characters are likable and interesting. Waiting for book three. Thanks for another winner.
Raven went into her first foster home at the age of six. After being shuffled through the system she was labeled autistic. She was placed in a facility for children with disabilities. Raven kept her head down and played the game. What we learn about Raven, however, is that she is highly intelligent. Raven had a gift to draw. She was in a car accident and later diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Raven also had issues from her past, her father made her feel like she was never good enough After being placed into the system that pushed her to work hard. Raven overcame past issues and became a video game designer, but Raven‘s illness was declining very rapidly. She was having spasms and leg cramps. She was exhausted and unable to do the day-to-day tasks, it caused her extreme fatigue. So she set about to find a someone to help her.
We meet Lynn, a fifty something grandma who was on the run from the cops. She was on the move, Lynn had her grand daughter and a dog with her. She needed a safe please to call home. Lynn also lived a life or disappointment and had some issues. Being a caregiver to Raven would be the perfect place for them.
The three spirits wanted to make sure Raven, Lynn and Destiny all became a family.
Sprits wanted to put a plan of the action of the trio closer together.
Raven wanted a family and she believed Lynn and Destiny with the little dog Cleo was her home and family that could bring her joy and peace to heal from her childhood.
There is so much going on in this story I don’t want to give anything away. But a storm comes and we get to see if Raven and Lynn love will survive.
Side note: The three spirits were always with the main characters.
I loved this story it shows you how we all need love and understanding. The Author is one of my favorites. The book is a beautiful story.
Second book in the series, and although the "mystical" part is better understood if you have read the first, it is introduced enough so that it can be perfectly read as a standalone. More as the story and characters are completely new.
Two lost women, two opposite poles in their way of facing life, who meet and learn to know each other and complement each other, with the help of a little girl with the innocence and enthusiasm that only children can provide.
Each character feels unique and authentic, with their own fears, desires, and secrets, which kept me engaged and invested in their fates. I especially liked Raven, with a complicated past and an even more complicated present/future, but who has been able to make her way through life thanks to her talent and imagination. The author does not focus on the possible drama of Raven but on her growth and evolution in a positive way – I would like to know how she is in a few years.
As in the first installment, it is a beautiful story that leaves a good taste in your mouth and conveys a feeling of hope and positivity.
Oh this is a lovely book that is a must read. It has all you need in a love story. Broken woman seeking love finds a family as well. Minimal aghast, just a well written story, with strong leading characters. Would highly recommend
Raven is a recluse who has created a refuge in the mountains of Washington State. Raised by a Poe obsessed father until his death she is raised in a group home in the foster care system. She is looking for her Evermore and is helped by a “spirit” raven that guides her on her journey.
Lynn is an empath who has traveled the world and lived as a caregiver. Her last client Katherine had ask her to make sure her granddaughter Destiny doesn’t end up with her drug addict daughter. On the run with Destiny in tow and Cleo, her dog, she accepts a position to assist Raven with her MS condition.
Three spirits join to assist these three form a family and find their Evermore.
I love this series. Evermore is a heartwarming love story that weaves ability/disability, child abuse/child advocacy, and love/loyalty, with a touch of the mystical, into a deeply satisfying and hope-filled novel. The author skillfully portrayed the ethical dilemmas of the protagonists, leading the reader to understand that all we see may not be all there is to see.
I found this to be an engaging read. It's a romance but with a fantasy element. Raven is a fabulously wealthy hermit and game developer with MS. The other main character, Lynn, is an older woman and empath on the run with a small child she promised to protect from her drug addict mother. The two women have their ups and downs, and issues with the outside world, the weather, and some meddlers. At times, some parts were a little too much for me, but I enjoyed it. I liked that at least one main character is in her 50s.
Being very sensitive myself & having MS running in the family, I felt drawn to the main characters for different reasons obviously. I loved the strong secondary characters (the spirits, the little human -- aka Destiny -- & the canine -- aka Cleo) ...
I'm pretty sure I have a good idea about who'll be the next in line when it comes to beneficiate of the meteor's help to be reunited to her souldmate.
I really love this original series & I just can't wait to read Book3 !!
