I lied on my resume. Now I work for my big alien boss. The hours are good and the pay is great. I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’d be a fool to quit.
There’s just one problem. My boss thinks I’m hot, and sweet, and cute. (He really doesn’t know me that well.) The next thing I know? I’m sleeping with him. And he wants to marry me.
They used to call that making an honest woman. (The irony is intense.) There’s just one problem. When he finds out how much I’ve lied, I’m going to lose it all. My job, my home, and my big, handsome alien boss.
She thinks I don't know. Watching this human brat muddle her way through what she imagines might be work is the best part of my day. I know she’s a liar. I know she’s terrified to tell me the truth. And I know just how to teach her the lesson she needs to learn before I make her eternally mine.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
What the hell did I just read! I instantly disliked both Jessica (for all her lies) and Cir (for his condescension). Lot's of discipline and "talk" about feelings, but in reality I didn't feel anything. There was no love. The premise of a race wanting to save humanity and bring them forward to join the universe is nice but pretty far-fetched.
I’m not really sure how I feel about this book. The aliens are benevolent, kinda. The humans are thankful, not really. And the story is a little bit of everything thrown in a pot. I actually enjoyed Jessica, she was the biggest brat, but she had the biggest heart. And Arlo was your typical assistant who didn’t understand how someone could not like him. The captain seemed like he let power go to his head, and Cir is a jumbled mess of confused emotions being fueled by the brat. The storyline was interesting and I enjoyed the fact they wanted to save the world, but those rich people. Good night! So greedy, and just as self-interested as always. Overall this story was okay, but not one of my favorites by the author.
Okay, so I have mixed feelings on this book. On one hand, it had some fun and hot times. On the other, it was all just so completely ridiculous. From the name of the aliens, the whole friggin basis of the story, and then especially the end.
So these aliens have come to Earth to try and help us help ourselves and that goes about as well as you'd imagine. Obviously, they're going to need some humans to work with them and Jessica sees this as her opportunity to finally turn her life around. But she has absolutely zero qualifications for anything so she lies thru her teeth and makes up the most unbelievable resume. It's so painfully obvious that the whole thing is a lie that Cir sets up an interview with her just to see what kind of person would write it. And he's immediately taken with everything about her.
Having gotten the job, Jessica is determined to keep up her lies by lying more and more. Really, it was too much. Especially because we know that Cir knows and he's constantly giving her opportunities to confess. But that's not all. Jessica is late the first day so Cir goes to her apartment to wake her up, finds her asleep in the tub, things happen, sex against a wall, and then a marriage proposal. I kid you not, he wants to marry her that first day after having sex. So now Jessica lies to keep her job and her fiance.
Obviously the rich humans are going to have a lot to say about these aliens and here there is a group of them that launch a nuclear missile at the space ship. I mean, at this point, nothing makes sense anyway so why not. Aliens get mad and decide to punish the humans. At which point Jessica does something stupid and exceedingly pointless. Of course. And some how, after she goes back to the ship and has her angry rant, Cir figures out what needs to be done with the humans. Despite everything going on here that makes no sense, the ending probably was the worst. Cir and Jessica marry and then are given leadership over Earth and a small army to "spank the planet"...I legit can't make this stuff up.
Amazon really needs to have a setting to suggest maybe not buying an author's book. I have read many by this author and have only really liked one or two, so it makes me mad to waste my money/credits. But dammit her blurbs always sound good and the excerpts chosen well that I know I'll probably read more despite telling myself not to.
I thought this book really nailed it as far as human beings are concerned, and Jessica is a prime example. The lying, the lack of self control, impulsivity, anger outbursts, etc all reflect some aspect of us all. I found it very insightful and caused me to pause for a moment of self reflection. I personally find this book quite genius. Loki Reynard hit all the right buttons here. We could only hope in our wildest dreams for an benevolent alien race to save us from ourselves! One must admit we are very self destructive creatures. Such love and compassion by an alien entity would certainly be overwhelming for us and put us on guard. Trust would of course be the main issue followed by questioning their motives. Cir had the patience of a saint an alien one. I know of no human man who would tolerate the level of lying that Jessica did, love or not. I actually found his long suffering with her to be especially endearing. I really liked his character. His physical endowments were very impressive. I found their love making exciting, and I felt turned on and jealous. I want a big hot alien man of my own. I noticed in other’s comments they found it odd there was no foreplay but they’re wrong. His spanking her was the foreplay for them both to get turned on. Pain can bring quite intensive erotic pleasure to some people, to both the giver of pain and the receiver. Excellent book Loki Renard.
What’s a girl to do when there are no really good jobs on Earth? Answer the ad for a human liaison for the aliens. Jessica does exactly that. However, she also lies on her resume. She has none of the skills that the aliens are asking for. There is no way she is getting the job. When Cir Fabian meets Jessica, he knows she has lied on her resume. He even quizzes her on things. But there is something about her that draws him in. He has to have her and not just as his assistant. I have to say when I read what Jessica’s last name was I started laughing. And you have to love that the aliens are well endowed. This is a fun story. Jess needed a job and lying her butt off was her only saving grace. But she also has a strong will. They really needed her. And the Aliens are called Cupid. Some of the story does dive a bit deep. We do seem to feel guilt and believe we are unworthy. Crazy right. And the rich always want it all for themselves. So true. Cir has faith in the human nature and Jess brings him love and hope.
This book went absolutely no where. Neither of the main characters were likable, there was no character development and no issue was resolved. Cir was patronizing and treated Jessica like a troublesome child ( constant spankings) and a sex toy the next. Jessica was a woman filled with self loathing and looked to a man to make her feel of value. The idea behind the aliens, called the Cupid, was ambiguous. They spoke like religious leaders with their talk of saving, guilt, forgiveness and sin. They were forcing their aid on the earth. The supposed love Cir had for Jessica didn't seem balanced between a man and a woman. He was determined to dominate her and have her obey him, as he boldly stated. I really did not like this book. Typos need to be corrected.
There is no way a woman wrote these books. No woman would make the female characters so stupid. Not only that, no woman would write sex scenes with zero foreplay at all. No woman would write scenes where the woman O's simply due to the sound of a man's demanding voice. Does that happen? Sure, but not without a lot of build-up beforehand where the woman is kept edged up to a certain point. And don't even get me started on the back end penetration with no prep. And no downstairs kitty cat attention other than to poke with his stick. Get out of here with that. This is a classic case of either a virgin writing this thinking they know what sex is, or it's a man who thinks he does. Don't bother. This series is more reality, unfortunately than fantasy and we all know what we read these books for and this ain't it.
My Big Alien Boss (Possessive Protective Aci-Fi Alien Romance Series) by Loki Renard. I love a good sci-fi romance and this series has been waiting on my TBR for quite some time now, and as part of my reading challenge this year is to try to get through as many of my TBR as possible, coupled with the fact the fact that I had the entire series sitting, waiting- well it was a no brainer. #whodoesntloveagoodbingeread This is Cir and Jessica’s story. She lies on her resume to get the job and has a few challenges ahead of her as she tries to work it out. Of course, she ends up in her boss's bed..... and things take an interesting turn. So, what happens when secrets are revealed, and the truth comes out? Sci-fi romance with drama, angst, darker elements, possessive alpha male, challenges, twists, chemistry, steam, BDSM, and more. Happy Reading…
This is one of the first books I haven't finished. And that im not giving a decent review. The FMC annoyed me so much I couldn't finish it. The premise of the book is really interesting. And honestly, it was a situation my dumb ass would probably find myself in if I was trying to escape earth. But oh my Gods, I hope I wouldn't be that annoying. I'd get so tired of her that she'd end up out an airlock. She has the amount of audacity a straight white man has, maybe not the same kind, but certainly the amount. I've loved all of Lokis other books. This one missed the mark for me.
This is not the book I thought it was going to be. I did not expect Jessica to be so blatant in her ridiculous lies on her resume. It was comical. Martial arts expert, degrees in Physics, and Mathematics. The topper was that she understood, and could translate the Choice language. Cir, was trying hard not to laugh at the test when he speaks to her in his language, and she responds with Totally, and yes absolutely. Having no idea what he said. Just the right amount of kink.
Im all for spanking and some other things but this book takes it too far in some instances. Example: the spanking at the end before the wedding. He said he was going to marry her and took her to the captains office and spanked her until he felt she had enough. I get it that its a release for some ppl and all that but she thought they were announcing their engagement not going to be spanked publicly and told she was getting married. Idk.
I give this one credit for the thoughts on human nature, and the heroine's backstory with her ex. Otherwise...I thought the hero too things too far at the end. I liked that Cir knew Jessica lied on her resume right from the start. I appreciated Jessica's willingness to do whatever it took to survive, but thought she was just okay otherwise. Overall, this story's philosophical thoughts will stand out in my mind more than the characters, the romance, or the world-building.
I feel like I wasted the 2+hours I read this story. I usually like Loki’s books but not this one. It almost seemed like the whole point of the book was to spank Jessica over and over. No real plot resolving the issues because the main male character just abruptly “figures things out” that all humans feel guilt. Then he marries her but not before spanking her, again. The end.
It was a little confusing to follow, especially the vignette about around the rapture, it was not inserted into the plot stream at all adroitly. I generally liked the freedom of the characters and their actions, but it reminded me of an earlier book I've read before, I think it was One? It was fun, A little repetitive at times, but still a decent read.
I don't always like the heroines in Renard's stories, (why are they always have to be crazy, bubbleheaded, selfish brats) but the heroes are swoon worthy (even if they are a bit pompous). But what I truly enjoy is the philosophical meanderings of the human condition.
I've always Loved Loki's stories 😃. They are always worth reading and inevitably have a great moral perspective somewhere 😉. Wonderful characters, lots of action and nasty bad things 😄. Thanks again Loki, I am truly one of your greatest fans and can't wait to read more 🤓.
loki renard's heroines' snarkiness increases with every book, and this is no exception!! jessica was hilariously insolent and delightfully bratty. cir was wonderful in a steady way. sort of steamy. only downside was kind of an unfinished humanity issue and the rushed ending with no epilogue.
What was this supposed to be?...A bold liar gets what she wants and did he really have feelings or just lust? And her mouth ...yuck...no matter the place or situation she had to cuss like a convicted killer. And it's pretty obvious the author has a thing for spankings. I've read many of her books, but this is the only one I'm sorry for.
Earthlings are a mess, and the Cupid come to Earth to save them. I like Jessica. She's brave, desperate, and funny. Cir is condescending, like all the aliens who came to save the Earthlings. Parts of the plot I like. I like a lot of the humor. This is my least liked book by the author.
This book didn't work for me. All the lying and the spanking and he wanted to marry her immediately after they had sex because he said they had a connection.
Humanity also tried to bomb the aliens with a nuclear weapon.
It was no bucked by the alien thats for sure. A bit too rushed for me , lack of depth and just overall not the best storyline. The smutt scenes need work- more detail I think. I did love the MC’s though. And it was still overall a good book.
My Big Alien Boss is not to my taste. There is spanking, severe spanking, S&M….the first twenty five percent of the book was discombobulated. I’m not a fan of any book supporting abuse of women under the guise of love.
This started as a silly but fun read (human FMC lies about her qualifications to get a job as a human-alien liaison, hot alien boss can see through all her lies and is very amused) but then went into the OTT “we gotta use spanking as punishment to save the world” territory.
It a nice story but I absolutely hate the lying. I know it is a huge piece to providing insight into an inherently flawed humanity who needed to be punished to be redeemed, but I just don't agree.
