My heart is split in two. I left two of my mates to do what I know is right, so why does it feel so wrong?
The Council went too far, and I have to act. They went after people I love, and I refuse to let them get away with it. They took enough from me already.
Going after them means putting myself at risk, and my mates. Whatever I do affects them, but doing nothing isn't an option.
This series created a society where being hybrid was looked down upon immensely. It doesn’t make sense that just killing the council members allowed the entire system they built to crumble. Throughout the book it seemed like the Council’s dictatorship included people who wanted to be part of controlling hybrids for their own interests. It’s sooooo convenient for everyone involved to be coerced. Also the “power” from their 5some bond was built up the entire story and for them to lose immediately when faced with a battle was hilarious. Theo was right or was it Kaden. I don’t know because it was never clear who was speaking, I had to literally scan every chapter for someone to say a name or do the math of who’s pov it was. A let down for how much the characters and their relationships were built up throughout the series. The author really focused on on the issues between the characters and went through how to have healthy relationships. Side note: Why wasn’t Saige freaked out about her pregnancy at all, she was literally hysterical when she learned her friends had been forcefully inseminated and now she’s totally chill when she is????? Did they feed her a potion to make her docile as well???

Confusing and felt like a stand alone horror instead of final book
I understand the pressure to get books done but this one was like reading vague cliff notes yet providing gut wrenching details of torture. Five books to build up about the significance of the large and odd bond yet left without answers. The only thing I can say is at least they have a semi happy ending (maybe???)
I have thoroughly enjoyed books 1-5. This last book though, felt like it fell down a rabbit hole. The long drawn out focus on the castle and its purpose felt like fluff and filler to make it a sixth book, while still leaving the end or for books to follow. The ending does leave plenty of opportunity for a spin off series, it even a more cohesive closing of the story. Another issue I have had through out the series, more so with this last book, was the very poor proofreading. With double wording and misuse of words the story did not flow the way a good story does. When you are constantly backing up to make sense of a sentence or paragraph, you interrupt the natural rhythm a book should have. All in all, aside from this last chapter in the series, the magic of the dory was delightful. With smart (and sometimes smart-alicky) characters, and rapid moving adventures, the storyline is worth reading☺️
S*x, s*x, and more s*x. Even at the most awkward moments. Saige's attitude is also annoying and it's all about her and her feelings and her opinions to this and that. All the males need to attend to her and understand her and she doesn't seem to return the favor, just offer her body and wham! Everything's good and rosy again. Weak protagonist for me. I think it's best for me to switch back to murder/mystery.

SYNOPSIS (of 6 Book Series): This story is set in the modern world but where humans do not know that supernaturals exist. The FC, Saige, discovers that she is a witch/shifter hybrid whose birth parents were killed when she was young and she was brought up by the human best friends. The world is governed by a Council who are anti hybrids. 17 years ago many hybrids and mixed couples were killed and that is starting up again. The FC is sent to Drexel Academy to learn to control her powers but must hide that she is a hybrid. There she meets her 4 bond mates. The story covers the development of their relationship and the rising danger of the Council seeking to kill/control supernaturals that are different or in mixed relationships. There's a HEA
Heat Level: 🌶️🥶/🍆 This is very slow burn. The FC only just kisses 2 of the 4 MCs by 75% into Book 3. No real sex happens until Book 6 although there is a bit of fooling around in Book 4. It’s as if the FC is 12 and was raised in a convent with her apparent lack of understanding of sex 🫣 The sex scenes are often one way with the MCs doing things to the FC but without her reciprocating or initiating and it is cringeworthy when they have to talk her through exactly what to do. It all feels too juvenile. Chemistry between the FC and MCs is not high. There’s a bit more with Niall but it’s not exactly steamy and the writing felt clunky not hot.
As a summary this series is too long, has a ridiculous amount of typos and editing issues, is limited in any excitement or drama, with a whiny complaining FC that really gets on your nerves and, after plowing through 6 Books, the ending is a massive let down 😡. Outside of the torture descriptions I think this series is aimed at a young audience.
As for the sex scenes, the FC makes a big issue of not being ready to bond with the MCs and not wanting to jump into sex then gets bent out of shape when none of her Bonds make a pass at her after the bonding 🙄 There’s even a whole scene where Hannah has a go at the MCs for NOT hooking up with the FC which is childish and unfair. The chemistry is weak and I never really felt any deep connection between the FC and any of the MCs. As with other books of this kind it was hard to see what the MCs saw in the FC outside of the enforced bond. The MCs themselves didn't really seem to get along and the whole Bond felt fragmented and never really seemed to come together as a cohesive group.
By Book 3 we’ve had 1 short lived dramatic/exciting scene. There is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end of Books 4 & 5 but they are low level. The last half of Book 3 & first half of Book 4 are like Groundhog Day. They’re full of the FC whining about being alone and no one focusing on the bond and about how the group is fragmented. Noone really seems to be bothered about being a unit. It’s interspersed by some cringy descriptions of the FC being introduced to sex (but not full sex). I almost gave up at the end of Book 3 and wish I had. As these were KU I decided to skim and see if things picked up much. They didn't really. There's a bit of excitement at the end of Book 5 but the story just drags interminably and the characters become progressively more annoying. Book 6 is taken up with a ridiculous merry-go-round of the FC wanting to storm in and attack the Council's stronghold and the resistance doing nothing.
The whole story is superficial. You never really get to know the villains as they are mostly just an amorphous Council. There is a brief introduction of an evil council member in Book 4 and then nothing until Book 6 which goes overboard with showing how evil the Council are.
Ultimately Book 6 did not really make sense to me. The resistance seemed to do nothing to fight back and even invited one of the Council to their uber secret hideout. By the time the climax came I really did not see the point of the FC and her Bonds. With the training that they did I expected them to do something to save people and take down the Council. It turns out that they were completely redundant and actually just got themselves into trouble. ***SPOILER***The author appears to try to create real drama by having the FC & her Bonds walk into an obvious trap where, despite all their training and strength they are easily captured and then the Book goes into detail about how each is then tortured horribly. There is a big scene where we can see how evil the Council Members are (its all very Mwah-ha-ha and OTT) when they come to look at their handywork. The Council is then taken down by an attack by the shifter pack and some of the resistance although it is unclear who exactly it was and how they took down the stronghold which appeared to not be very strong. Neither the FC nor her Bonds help to take down the stronghold and in fact have to be rescued. There was no reference to the FC being betrayed or to what happened to the evil doctors undertaking the experiments or why the resistance was so ineffectual. As I mention above, you only get a brief reference to the fact that the Council Members are put on trial and executed a while after the fact. Its ridiculously anti climactic despite there being a long epilogue which, to me, again made no sense as it tells us how the FC and her Bonds go to Alaska and build cabins. Really? What's that about??

How many times can we read the words “vulnerable”, “communicate”, and “teenager” in one book series? If I never hear a characters inner monologue talk about being vulnerable again, it will be too soon. Let alone a “vulnerable teenager” who needs to “communicate” with their group of “only teenager” bonds. My goodness. Wish the book allowed the group to explore their fancy powers more, maybe one big final battle fight? Something? For a group with unheard of power, all we got to see was one training session in a super fancy simulator built underground. For the final climax that took five books to get to, we ended up with capture, a couple of chapters of torture from each perspective, then every female character being artificially knocked up, to… BAM! More of Saige whining. And denying… pregnancy?? This was the most clueless bore of a whiney character ive read in a while. I almost never write reviews, and ive enjoyed other GREAT books by Lexi Scott, so i was surprised this female lead was so hard to stomach. Missed the mark on this one unfortunately.
whinny, too long, under developed but the root story is good
6 books that could have been much less. Main female character is forever whinny. Relationship development was so drawn out I thought it would never have any substance. Maybe by book 5 they finally seem to care about each other but it was flat. The root plot was good. Felt like the author couldn’t figure out how to flesh out the relationship. The antagonist was flat. Just “the council” with only 4 members referred to but I still can’t tell you how many were actually apart of it. And one that we are told about in the beginning but never hear about again. Characters and story lines didn’t always connect. By book 5 I was bored and wondered if it would ever end. Book 6 finally sped up and saw some action. Though I admit to skipping to the end because I couldn’t take anymore and wanted to see how it ended. If you like long, drawn out and whiny stories then read it. Root plot is good. She has written better stories though.
The story as a whole was fine. I got sucked into it, but there were so many issues! The book needs serious editing help. Names changed, sentences left unfinished, sooo many extra words! It felt like I was reading one of my 12 year olds ELA assignments when she uses speech to text and forgets to go back to check for errors.
This series should have been a single book, maybe two. I’m glad I read it AFTER all six books had been released. It took me a day and a half to complete the series. I was so disappointed that it wasn’t actually a series of 6 full novels, but rather one book that had been split into 6 parts.
If you are looking for a decent story, have kindle unlimited, and can overlook some obnoxious editing issues, I actually still would recommend this series. It may make you want to pull your hair out at times, but the overall story is interesting.
A great series. It would get more 5 stars overall with editing!
This was a harder book to read. There's t0rture, forced impregnation, etc. So, just beware of that.
Editing is still an issue in this book. Extra words in sentences, for example, or names spelled wrong. In one chapter, one of Saige's uncle's names, Steven, kept alternating between Steven and Stephen. Even in the same paragraph!
I love books with pregnancies, but this one was a bit horrific. I'm glad the characters were happy in the end, but man, it was a bit rough. There's also a few characters that lose their lives, which is sad.
Overall, I still enjoyed the series, though! I may read the next series with Rainer!
I wanted to DNF this series at so many different points. The whiny characters and the constant back and forth were annoying. The plot was also very shaky. Why were they this super bond, but they do nothing with it? What were the reasons for the council to do what they did? If they were tortured relentlessly for over 3 months, but they don’t talk about it or seem to have any trauma over it? The bond was also still not solid, they still were fighting over silly stuff by book 6. Just honestly a very unsatisfying ending to what could have been a great series.
This series was a complete letdown. They built up this large bond group, who were supposed to have a lot of power, but they never actually did anything. What was the point of Saige and her bond group? They never actually accomplished anything worth writing six books. They didn't win any battles. They weren't helpful in the take down of the council. By the end of the series, Saige barely even had a full grasp of her supposedly strong power. I had more questions than answers after reading this series. I will probably pass on any other books by this author.

As soon as sex is used as a form of punishment (i.e. Hannah and Natasha and Saige being forcibly impregnated) the book is an automatic 0. Idk what it is with authors thinking they need to do shit like this but it’s pissing me the fuck off. Bullshit what happened to Ben. Natasha deserved to be happy. I enjoyed most of the series. It was pretty predictable but overall just an easy read. Saige is annoying asf though and I always love when the guys call her out on her bullshit. The 🌶️ scenes are about as 🥵 as my dead grandmothers undergarments. Would not read again.

I started the series because it was academy UF. A bit nervous about how the RevH would be handled, as its driven me off quite a few books and series since it became prevalent about 5 years ago.
The reverse harem was tastefully done and very believable within the story line.
The story didn't have a climax, it had a whole series of them. I am very impressed.
Conquered by Magic, the sixth book of the Drexel Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). After the build up from five prior books, maybe my expectations were too high. Instead of tension and twists, it felt drawn out and unsatisfying. Could have been a better ending, but the whole series was still worth a read through.
I wanted to love this series ,i read all 6 books always hoping for more …. More heat, more steam ,more nail biting want and need but i cant say it delivered.I’d recommend this series for young young adults who don’t like trigger warning books or swear words or sex in their books ,very PG
I read all six books hoping that each book would get better than the last..... Unfortunately, that did not happen I disliked all the characters and didn't see the point of "The Powerful Bonded Five". What a waste of reading time.
Loved this series however book 5 and then this one slowed down.around 60% it finally picked up. Felt like parts of the story was rushed. I did love the characters a lot and glad to see the end was happy.
Books 1-4 were great, book 5 pretty good but less so and I honestly could stomach book 6 to finish it.
Book 6 dragged on with the same theme and de-evolution of the FMC - spoiled, naive, hopeless, helpless, “why can’t they do what I want to do. RIGHT. NOW.” attitude.
I really enjoyed this series the storyline was great the men are amazing the secondary characters are fab but saige really let's it down she is so selfish and whiney I don't know how people put up with her I thought she might get better but noPe 😀
I loved this series , it got me hooked from start ! Loved it ! The only thing I would have changed are the ages of the characters. The last book I would have hoped for a big battle with the MC I am a sucker for Academy Romance books so this was really good
