Liam is a dominant alpha. He's earned himself a great job at a great company, and alongside his recessive alpha buddy Nathan, things can't get much better. That is until after a night of drinking games with Nathan. Liam wins himself a fully paid evening at the nearby omega brothel known as the Omega House. Liam's never been fond of brothels or omegas, but at Nathan's insistence, he gives it a shot.
He has no intentions of actually participating with whatever omega he chooses. Still, upon meeting the mysterious and alluring Raven, a recessive omega, he finds himself inexplicably drawn back to the Omega House. While Raven and Liam grow closer and closer physically, their emotional ties are limited by Raven's refusal to be owned or bonded to any alpha. Liam could easily dominate Raven and make him his, but surprisingly he would much rather be dominated by him.
Can Liam overcome the instinct he has to dominate and make Raven his? Will he be able to break down the walls Raven has built around his heart? Or will Raven slip out of his grasp?
Eve Healy is an author of gay and BL romance and erotic fiction novels. However, Eve does not limit herself to just one subgenre of romance, whether it be love in small towns or love amongst the stars. She grew up in a small town but expanded her horizons with books, including romance novels, manga, and manhwa. With so many different ways to fall in love, Eve wants to make your heart flutter with all of them. But, more than that, Eve intends to explore what goes bump in the bedroom.
I currently live in Alabama with my partner. As high school sweethearts, my favorite love story to tell is our own, though I supplement it with love stories I make up in my spare time. I love anime, manga, manhwa, and books in general. All recommendations are welcome! When I am not reading, writing, or trying to seduce my husband, I spend time with my dogs – a lab, a blue heeler, and a pit bull. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my work.
Dominate Me by Eve Healy is a quick read that was unique from many other MM romance reads out there. The omegaverse component was interesting to read and learn about, how dynamics worked but it became muddled with primary and secondary sex levels, dominant vs recessive, alphas, betas and omegas. I felt that Liam was an ok character but I couldn’t figure out his job or his money, how he grew up rich and had the vacation home but lived in a dangerous studio apartment and couldn’t afford the brothel but then had tons of money for shopping and a sudden new apartment along the way. Raven/Asher was so frustrating, he seemed so immature and I don’t understand how labile his moods would be, it was whiplash keeping up with what mood he was in rather than resisting societal norms for omega and alpha relationships. The sex scenes were well laid out and build up nicely. Overall this book wasn’t something I’d pick up or recommend, but I applaud the author for ideas that weren’t overdone and made for a unique storyline.
I want to start off by saying that I adore the cover! Its style is so manga-like that I couldn't help but start reading it right away! The art is really beautiful and complemented my idea of the characters in a perfect way.
This is the first Eve Healy book I've read and I'll definitely be following her books from now on! I've read a lot of manga and more recently books with alpha, beta and omega, worlds where male pregnancy is possible, but this series is so different.
I like it! I read all 3 books in the series literally in one sitting. I couldn't catch my breath until I got to the last page.
Asher and Liam aren't the usual couple you'll find in the omegaverse. Their first date at the omega brothel is intense and so unusual. But right from the beginning, the huge differences between them can be detected.
Undoubtedly, Asher is my favorite. Maybe it's because I relate more to his rebellious nature, or I completely understand his desire to fight against the rules of society and want more for himself. Not to be just an "omega" who is expected to be owned and raise children by some alpha, but to be a person who has everything he owns. And really, one wouldn't expect much from a recessive omega, but from their first meeting, his personality stood out super bright and further aroused their curiosity.
On the other hand, Liam is a dominant alpha. When I read this in the book summary I imagined the typical macho. Well, imagine my surprise when I found an insecure and worried charmer who didn't know how to react to their first meeting. Right from the start, Liam is so nice and willing to do anything to please Asher and make him feel wanted and in control.
Against all logic, the relationship and the story take a 360-degree turn before finding their happy ending. But I can't say there's anything I didn't like about the whole story.
Maybe the only thing I was missing was to see the other point of view. I also wished the book was longer because the story was wonderful and I think there was more room for development.
"Dominate Me" is my second read by Eve Healy. I really liked "The Mourning Dove and His Snow Sparrow" and was excited to get my hands on a copy of this book. Let's quickly set the scene. This book takes place in a non-shifter omegaverse with three classes: alpha, beta, and omega. There is also a secondary sex characteristic of being dominant or recessive. The book includes mpreg, and trigger warnings apply for miscarriage, abortion, prostitution, abandonment, and strong BDSM elements. There is also a brief mention of a non/dub-con type of kink play in the very beginning. On to the plot! We follow our main character and only POV Liam, a dominant alpha, as he goes to an omega brothel on a dare. He's incredibly uncomfortable with the concept even though it's considered normal for betas and alphas to partake. He's drawn for unknown reasons to an aloof omega named Raven and spends their first meeting simply talking. He's immediately smitten and returns over and over to Raven for more than just friendly conversation. Over time, the two forge a sort of relationship that extends beyond the walls of the brothel. While Liam is addicted to Raven's presence, the omega is quite capricious, longing only for freedom despite his attraction. But one mistake threatens both of their dreams and happiness. I really liked this book! I found myself coming back to it repeatedly throughout the day just to see what happened next with our MCs. The relationship was at times heartbreaking and full of trials. I even found myself getting a little frustrated with one of the MCs based on how they were treating the other. But to me, that's a good sign because it means the author did a good job of making me care about the characters. This book also has lots of steam, as you can imagine and I found it rather enjoyable! I would recommend this book to fans of fantasy omegaverse MM romances with lots of steamy moments. I'm giving it 4/5 stars as it needed another pass by an editor to fix some grammar mistakes that took me out of the story.
Special thanks to Eve Healy and NetGalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for honest feedback!
This is my second read from this author and there’s always so much potential in the stories but in the end I just can’t like them. The omega in this story is just not likable. I’m all for the idea of the omega being dominant and empowered but I actually feel sorry for the dumb alpha who actually found something likable about him. I also feel like the plot is weak. It’s like the author wrote down everything you would normally find in omegaverse and did their hardest to do the opposite, lol. Nice try 😂
I really liked this book! The characters were interesting and I found them more loveable. The chemistry between these two is great. I enjoy a good omegaverse story and this hit all the buttons.
I wasn’t really expecting much from this book. From the cover, I thought it was just gonna be something slightly silly and frivolous, instead, I got something that was full of heart and a pretty good plot. I really appreciate that. It wasn’t your basic ABO book. Definitely worth the time.
I found the relationship between Asher and Liam confusing and very unsatisfying. Showing the omega dominating an alpha would probably never happen if this were a real scenario and the ending made me sad due to the lack of commitment on the part of Asher. You start out believing he really cares for Liam, only to realize that he is internally selfish which, by the way , never changes. I was disheartened by the end.
As a disclaimer, this novel is my introduction to Omegaverse, and I had to look up the genre before I could understand the premise because I was a bit confused in the beginning. This did not influence my rating because this can happen with any genre. I did find it to be a positive since I couldn't have a bias by comparing it to others of the same genre since it had to stand on its own. Liam, a dominant Alpha, is talked into going to an Omega brothel by his friend Nathan, a recessive Alpha, after a night of drinking and card playing. There, he finds Asher, a recessive Omega, and both feel an instant connection. During their second encounter, when they actually have sex, the dynamic will be quite different than any Alpha or Omega would have together as Asher becomes the dominant person. Their very heated relationship quickly extends beyond the brothel as Liam and Asher begin to have deeper feelings for one another. Asher becomes pregnant almost at the beginning of their real relationship, Asher freaks out since he wants to be a free spirit, and then all bets are off regarding their future. While I enjoyed the novel, and did not want to stop until I finished it, there were a few things that bothered me, but because they were important to the story, the author was definitely successful in drawing me into that mindset .How in the world was Liam a dominant Alpha? His friend and coworker Nathan, a recessive, had more of a backbone than he did, and was not very happy his friend was in a relationship with someone so low as an Omega. It wasn't just being the submissive in the relationship with Asher, Liam was kind of weak in his world outside of it as well. He was nervous, insecure, and a people pleaser. The only dominant traits he expressed were when he felt someone was trying to insult Asher, or felt possessive. For the most part, he was with Asher, he only showed his dominant side when he was annoyed, or did not want to deal with any drama. Asher only seemed to fit the description of the recessive Omega in the physical part, but he was definitely not in any other way. Yes, part of that was because he had some inner demons fighting to prevent any happiness or normalcy to his life. He ruled their relationship. However, he was very selfish, throughout the entire novel. Again, emphasizing his determination to be a free spirit. He refused to let Liam mark him, which would have bonded them for life. However, Liam, being the submissive, and to show his commitment to Asher, asked Asher to mark him, even though it would only be symbolic in nature. Plot twist there. I will not give any spoilers, but I am happy there was no real description regarding how Asher gave birth. I don't even want to know. So, thank you for that. Liam almost kept his ears down, and tail tucked beneath him to everything Asher demanded. I wanted to strangle them both at times. However, this was intentional because at times they both filled their roles as they were born to do. Liam was the dominant as he supported Asher, and gave him the security he needed. Asher himself was very insecure, and needed someone strong to help him become the person he was meant to be. Yes, they did have their HEA, and it was amusing...in a good way. This was a very well written novel, and helped introduce and discover how the Omegaverse is as a genre Instead of the usual epilogue, there was the "side story" of Nathan, and the preview of his story in the next novel of the series. It was definitely VERY eye opening. I am not quite sure how consensual his introduction to Sam was, dubious as best. It is obvious the role in their relationship will also be outside of the typical social construct as well. I am very curious, and will more than likely read that as well. It is definitely a mature novel. There are quite a few explicit and graphic intimate M/M scenes. One was of a not so consensual encounter, but no connection to the main characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A huge thank to Netgalley and Eve Healy for giving me a chance to read Dominate me in exchange for my honest review.
Let's start by saying that, the omegaverse vibes were immaculate. As someone who has read more than a few stories with the omegaverse trope, I had high expectations and was not disappointed. Liam was perhaps the sweetest alpha to ever exist and he was so thoughtful and considerate of Raven at all given times, it was the very least swoon worthy. His connection with Raven and his struggle to not be like any othere Alpha were the driving force of this story, as was Liam fighting his instincts and not scare Raven away. It made me root for him from the beginning and I was aching with him when he was seperated from Raven. As for the MM action, oh boy it was hot. This is a BL novel and going in you are prepared for some steamy scenes and in all honesty it was some of the best written action I've read in this context (and I've read plenty). I couldn't find any trigger warnings but two : mentions of abortion and mentions of forced sex/rape. That alone made this novel a cute and pleasant read and the bonus content with Nathan -this story's instigator- had my reader heart jumping with joy because the only question I had when i finished the book was "what about Nathan ?" and then I had my answer and i was not expecting that for him. All I can say is that all of the boys had their happy ending.
I found myself drawn into the story right away as Liam a dominant alpha meets Raven at an omega brothel. I Loved their chemistry at first. Liam is just so sweet and easily lovable. The shift of power was a nice change from other alpha/omega stories. I think this was the first story I have read that has done this and I had high hopes for it.
But in all honesty the story left me with a lot mixed feelings.
There were some parts that confused me and pulled me out of the story. Some words that were used didn’t really fit. Luckily it wasn’t too major. Also sometimes the whole mood would change abruptly, even Liam pointed out that Asher’s emotions were causing him whiplash and I feel it was so fitting because that was how I kept feeling. Sometimes Asher would be sullen, then super happy and then horny and then demanding/dominant (sometimes out of the blue). And in all honesty real selfish sometimes. I started feeling bad for Liam. Some of the sex was super hot and some… well talking about puke in the middle of getting head yeah...not a turn on. I was completely thrown and bleh.
Interesting read but I wish I’d really understood things better, or been able to understand Asher better in a way that made me like him. His choices just made me so mad.
As a first timer of reading omega verse fiction I’d recommend googling and learning the basic anatomy of the alpha’s, omega’s and beta’s or else you’re going to be extremely confused.
I loved the concept of this story. Liam’s coworkers encourage him to go to the local brothel where he makes a reservation for Asher, an omega who only wishes he was an alpha. Liam quickly falls for the brunette boy but that leads me to the reason I only gave this book three stars.
Even when Liam was proclaiming his love and willing to do anything just to be near Asher, he never showed he felt the same. I’m not sure if this should be labeled a romance if one of the main characters doesn’t return the same love. Although they are bondmates Asher mentions many times he rather not be tied down and that never really changes, even in the end. I’m an avid romance reader so I found myself enjoying Nathans mini story at the end more because of the romance aspect of it.
A quote I really liked from Asher and Liams story was, ‘“You look prettiest when you're all tied up, you know?" Pretty? Had he seen himself? If he thought I was pretty, then he was absolutely ethereal’
If you don’t mind the lacking romance then I highly recommend this story. It was so interesting to read about a completely different universe and different anatomy, roles.

I enjoyed this story but I was wow by it like the the stand-alones written by the author. Although I enjoyed the relationship between Liam and Asher it felt a little lacking and kinda wanted more. Maybe it was because I felt Asher wasn't giving 100% in the relationship I mean the guy literally went back the brothel house as soon as he delivered the baby and saying was they were exclusive. I mean I get that Liam loves him and all but the way Asher was wanting to live while being exclusive was a bit absurd considering he knew how much Liam loved and wanted him in his life. I honestly think Liam was expecting way too much from Asher which was why he was always getting hurt. The writing is decent and so is the pacing. The smutt isn't cheesy or over the top. It seemed to be evenly placed throughout the story. I did like the POV was in the semes since most of the time it's in the omegas. I hope the other two storing this series is better. I actually about to start the second so well see I guess.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for my advanced readers copy of Dominate Me. Content Warnings: Male pregnancy Liam is an alpha and one night (through circumstances) he finds himself at an omega brothel. Right away he is drawn to an omega named Raven. Liam and Raven find them enjoy each other’s company and Liam comes back again. However, will these two be able to have a relationship knowing Raven’s past? Will Raven let Liam break down his walls he put up to protect himself? Or will Raven slip out of Liam’s grasp? I won’t lie, I did not love this book. However, I did not hate it. I wasn’t expecting an accidental pregnancy trope and I do not like that trope in the slightest. I did enjoy reading about Liam and Raven’s relationship tho. I was rooting for them the whole time. Everything about this book was fine. However, I LOVED the bonus chapter at the end from Liam friend’s point of view. So obviously I had to read the second book. I would recommend this book to those who like alpha and omega universe, but also those who want a quick read with some romance!
This is a hard book for me to rate because I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I couldn't put it down (I did have to stop frequently because of the depressing topics), but on the other hand, it was hard for me to root for the main characters.
Don't let the cute cover fool you into thinking this will be a fun and lighthearted story, because it's anything but. In fact, I found it quite depressing because it's so obvious that Asher hates being an omega. He's very vocal about it and it also shows with his treatment of Liam. However, Liam is obsessed with him, so he pretty much lets Asher step over him like a doormat. That's the compromise Liam has to make in order to have Asher, because Asher doesn't want to be owned by anyone. He doesn't want to be a status quo omega. I felt pretty bad for Liam the entire story; I wasn't even sure if Asher even likes him much. My heart literally shattered for Liam at that point because it felt like Asher didn't care about Liam's feelings at all.
In the end, I'm glad that they're . I probably can't handle it if they aren't and Asher goes back to his old life. I honestly can't see their relationship working out if they're not . They did eventually settle on a compromise that works for them and I'm glad that Asher decides to stay. They understand that they will never be a traditional family, but they are okay with that.
To be honest, it was a rough story for me to read, despite the somewhat happy ending. I wish there were more world-building so I could understand the dominant/recessive alphas/omegas better. I wish there were more cute and sweet moments between Liam and Asher. But overall, I would say I enjoyed it because it was a compelling read, but I had mixed feelings about it. This series is connected, so I'm looking forward to reading Nathan's book next!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was my first read by this author, and I am kind of on the fence about it. I enjoy plots that throw a different spin on an established genre, play with role reversal, or power exchange, but I had mixed feelings about Asher. While I appreciated and understood his desire to be independent, not to be controlled by anyone, and to be more than ‘just' an omega, he came off as selfish to me, especially when he returned to the brothel. I wanted him to care more for Liam and his feelings, and for them to agree about these things together, not for Liam to just give in because he loved and wanted to be with Asher. It felt more like Asher wins and Liam loses, and dominance doesn’t need to be like that. The ‘dominant’ person should be just as selfless and caring, whether Alpha or omega (IMO). The ending was okay, but not as robust HEA as I like.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I really really wanted to love this story. I instantly loved Asher’s character and Liam’s loving personality towards him; I felt like the ending changed the direction of the story and Asher’s personality conflicted with how he was portrayed at the start of the book. Sometimes, it seemed as if Asher was coercing Liam, and other times it felt like Liam was coercing Asher. They both made choices that really didn’t seem to fit their character profiles and that made me a little disappointed.
It was a bit of back and forth during the last few chapters of whether Asher was going to stick to his guns and be removed from Liam’s life, or melt into a traditional omega partner. It felt like the ending was forced to be a happy ending, despite some loose ends of personality change and character development not being addressed. That being said, I really loved the characters, I just wish the ending had gone in a different direction.
I’ve never intentionally read an mpreg story before, and I’m not sure it’s for me but I’m also a bit obsessed with this author so…
What I loved the most was the rejection of traditional designation roles. Our Omega (Asher) finds he’s very dominant and our Alpha (Liam) works really hard to embrace a submissive role because he just wants any life that includes Asher. Especially after Asher gets pregnant.
There’s a lot of angst in this one - Asher never wanted to be tied down or have children but he does love Liam so he runs away and comes back and spends a lot of the book pretty conflicted.
The ending was a bit abrupt for me. I wasn’t totally convinced that Asher was happy in the life he spent years trying to avoid.
I’m intrigued by book 2 though! I guess my curiosity over mpreg hasn’t been satisfied.
I received a copy for review - all opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this romance story with all characters within. The main characters were Liam and Asher.
Liam is a dominant alpha. One night while out with friends from work Liam friend Nathan want to play a game. Liam win and Nathan gives him money so that he can go to the Omega House and experience some fun. But what Liam find is something surprising.
Asher is an omega. He works at the Omega house. When a guy comes to see him and just want to talk. Asher is surprised by this no one has done this before.
This was quite different type of story than mostly I have read before. I thought that it was a manga with pictures and words. Since that cover looks like a manga cover but is not.It had action and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within. This is a steamy story and a M/M with a baby in it.
I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
Not at all what I was expecting to be completely honest. I’m still a bit conflicted about how much I can actually say I liked it. And omega verse romance story very spicy that was completely controversial. The original idea is one I really liked it. Considering the story of a recessive omega that wanted to go against every possible rules imposed by the society and didn’t want to get marked. And the character of Liam is definitely one I loved, with our sweet and caring and respectful he was. But when the fear of seeing it all disappear turned into stubbornness … that was the point when this book lost me a bit. Anyway it was a good book to read and once again don’t let yourself be fooled by the cover !!!
I was put out of my comfort zone with this novel but overall it is a well written book. The author skillfully crafted a world in which the dynamics between alpha, beta, and omega characters are complex and nuanced. The main characters were well-written and had distinct personalities that drew me into their story. The erotic scenes were steamy and well-paced. Even though mpreg is definitely a bit wild for me, I still thought it was done tastefully.
The relationship between Liam and Asher was very interesting to me. I loved how captivated Liam was with Asher and how Asher felt the same but refused to let go of who he wanted to be. (Even if it lead to unhealthy decisions)
For those who are into BL and the omegaverse, this book is well done and perfect for the genre.
I really enjoyed this book. It's the first book I've read by this author. I'll admit I was initially drawn to this by the beautiful manga-style cover, but I'm glad I picked it up. I love the idea of dominate or recessive genes in alphas/betas/omegas. It's unique and adds more complexity to the characters/classes. I really liked Liam. I didn't like things that Asher did, so it took a bit for me to warm up to him. Liam didn't quite fit the norm for dominant alphas, and while a recessive omega, Asher wanted to push past the boundaries of what that designation has set for him. A nice first book in this series, and I will be reading and reviewing the rest. 4 stars.
"This book was an interesting romp through the omegaverse. We follow Liam as he meets Asher who works at a omega brothel, and they quickly develop an infatuation. Unfortunately, this book does not really feel like a love story. The two main characters didn't feel like they were ultimately good for each other. Liam is very new to love, and hasn't had a chance to be in a relationship with someone who would treat him well. Asher wants freedom and somewhat gets it, but mostly ends up trapped in a domestic life that seems exactly the opposite of something he'd want. I would not believe these two would be together still except for the fact that they're bondmates."
If you are looking for full length Omegaverse stories, give Eve Healy a try and ignore my neutral ratings because this is the start of promising series. Dominate Me is well-written and has many interesting characters. Unfortunately, I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the Omegaverse tropes.
Recommended for: fan fiction/Omegaverse readers that enjoy fated pair tropes
Author’s content warning: contains depictions of male pregnancy, prostitution, miscarriage, abortion, child abandonment, and BDSM
I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Okay well this was not exactly what I expected 😅🤦♀️🤷♀️ I didn’t realize that omega verse was not just for werewolves. I love the boy love plot but it was a bit much for me personally. The details of the spicy scenes and the accidental pregnancy trope really just pushed it over the edge. I’m not an accidental pregnancy trope kinda gal and the hot and coldness of Asher just irritated me. The book itself was good and a wholesome story at the end but the way Asher behaves, I just can’t get over. I received this as an ARC from Net Galley and was glad to be able to read it, but will not be reading the rest of the series.

I liked Dominate Me by Eve Healy. It's the first book in the Dominate Me series. I enjoyed Liam and Asher's story. I liked that Liam is a virgin dominant alpha and Asher is a recessive omega. I liked that Liam would do anything to be with Asher, even letting Asher claim him instead of the other way around. I also liked how the alphas, betas, and omegas can have either dominant or recessive genes. I loved the side story: Nathan at the end of the book. It was hot.

“Our relationship was anything but normal, but it was perfect in that imperfection.”
I absolutely adored Liam. He was kind as sweet. He’s a dominant but he never used his power against Asher. He never forced anything on him. He just loved with his whole heart, no matter what.
Asher I could do without. He was selfish and cruel throughout the entire book, until the very very end. He shows he only cares about himself and his own wants. Never gave himself over in any way. Just not my cup of tea.
I loved the glimpse you get into Nathan and Sam though! I will probably like their book more.
Thank you Netgalley for providing this arc! (Actually I believe this book has been released since last year). This book was not too bad! It had some good smut, it was omegaverse, and sometimes with omegaverse there’s some…annoying “typical” gender roles that come into play. Both our characters are male, and there is male pregnancy . The TW indicates it would be discussed but it definitely was a huge part of the plot so, definitely be aware. Otherwise—our MC’s were adorable and I thought the love story was quite cute!
Overall, I liked the story. Towards the end, I was starting to hate Asher, though. In the year-ish of knowing Liam, you mean to tell me Asher was so fixated on being “free” that he still pushed him away and wanted to go back to his job? Honestly, he still probably has the commitment issues at the very end of the story. Liam, though, makes the story 10x better and I love him! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Asher doesn’t deserve him.
Im looking forward to starting Nathan’s story because that little glimpse was a-spicy!
Was not expecting that. Again, there were some pet peeve-y thinks that irked me but I couldn’t help but read on to find out what would happen.
I definitely recommend if you like these tropes but read the sample to be sure.
Also, the true start of book two is at the end of this one and I think it should be included in the second book because otherwise you may feel lost if you wanted to read that one as a stand-alone. I’m thinking they are best read in order.
