The Heinous Crimes Unit stopped Lucy Speckle’s murder spree. Brilliant FBI agent Christian Windsor was there. He watched as she cut her own throat.
Pushing Lucy to suicide has changed Christian. He’s becoming darker, harsher, crueler, and those around him are starting to notice.
Luke Titan couldn’t be happier because he engineered the whole thing. Too bad his genius keeps him hidden in the shadows.
If anyone knew Titan’s true intentions, he’d spend the remainder of his life locked up before getting sent to the electric chair.
However, his diabolical plans are almost complete.
Titan is done hiding, and he’s ready to rip the FBI apart.
The stakes are raised when a new serial killer emerges. The newcomer is kidnapping women, and only Christian notices. Driven by his relentless mind, he’ll do anything to catch this killer—even if it means breaking the law.
The only question What if there is no murderer?
There’s a very real possibility that the killer only exists in Christian’s mind, and he has no idea he’s being played by his psychopathic partner.
Will Christian surviveTitan’s trap?
Don't stand outside, looking in. Pull up a chair and sit down. Luke is more than ready to welcome you back...

I have thoughts and feelings about this book. And most of them contain a lot of swearing and shocked gasps. Holy freaking cannoli, Daniel Scott has created the creepiest villain I've possibly ever read. Luke Titan is an evil genius and is entirely abhorrent. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Quotes His mind had stored all of the information inside his mansion. He re-read it because he wasn’t ready to go inside the mansion yet. Even if he hadn’t told Melissa, he knew he was spending too much time there. He found it more comfortable than the actual world. He spent hours each day inside his mansion when before, it had always been a support for life, not life support. [I'm feeling a little called out here. Don't judge me. My books may not be a mind mansion, but they are definitely my life support.]
He felt no panic or fear. No hope, either. Perhaps that’s what serenity was, a lack of emotion.
“Insanity is praying to a being, wishing that he would look after you when it’s clear he doesn’t care in the slightest. The order God wants is only His order, while the universe wishes for something completely different. He rules this world like a tyrant and people beg at His table for crumbs.”
Luke's insnaity? becomes more clear . His manipulation of Christian more evil . It is difficult to write more about the content without giving details . Gruesome, for sure . Pretty well written , kept me reading . No obvious typos however I noticed a few places that could have used an additional word for clarity. Definitely a true horror story .
Daniel Scott just keeps on gluing me to the twisted pages of his mind in this 3rd book of the Heinous Crimes Unit. So many questions... Who is behind all of the chaos? who will survive? Is surviving a good thing? I can't wait to read the 4th book in this series!
This book had me on the edge of my seat from page 1, & it’s now 4:12 am & Im still awake since I had to finish it! I’m sad, heartbroken & determined that this MONSTER must be stopped! Read this series!!!
Can't stop reading these books. What am I going to do when there are no more. I will certainly think about them. The characters are very thought-provoking. The plot is thrilling and keeps my heart racing.
Wow!!!!!!! Woooooooowwwwwww!!! That ending!!! Wow!!! That was incredible!!! Can't wait to read the next one! I really am sad about Tommy, though, I was hoping that Christian would have him as his FBI partner for the rest of the series.
While the premise of this book's bad guy is great, the story on the sidelines dragged too much for me and I had to power through. After passing 60% the action picks up and it reads a lot easier.
