Karissa She doesn’t need anyone to save her. She is her own savior, so when her former foster sister is threatening to finish what she started, Karissa knows she needs to leave. No one is safe with Sena after her. Except, she didn’t plan on him. Razor, the far too sexy biker has made it clear that he wants her for his Old Lady, and he’s not going to give up. Now, he’s found out about the threat against her, and he isn’t about to let her go or let her fight her past alone. However, she hasn’t been completely open about her past, and it’s about to stretch their trust and budding relationship to the limits. But the biggest question is, when it’s all over… will she stay or will she go? And will Razor still want her when he finds out the truth?
Razor He never wanted an Old Lady, and was happy with the casual arrangement he and Karissa started. Except now, things are different, and he wants it all, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make her see it. But things aren’t always what they seem. Karissa has secrets. So when he finds out she’s leaving to try and protect those closest to her, he’s not about to let her go without a fight. The question is, will he be able to handle the secrets she was keeping? And if so, will she still stay when it was all over? Or is he destined to watch her leave?
I live in New Brunswick, Canada with my husband and our two dogs, Remi and Sako (pronounced Say-co). When I’m not writing, I’m playing fetch with the dogs, talking to my parents for endless amounts of hours, annoying the crap out of my husband, or just enjoying life with my friends. Writing has been a part of my life since I was about 12. I started out just writing short stories or silly knock-offs of my favorite shows or movies. Soon, though, I realized just how much I loved to write. How often my mind would wander and think of characters and where they could go. They became real to me, and I would start to write. I used to fill up notebooks and pads of paper when I got an idea. It would be an obsession, almost, to get on paper. Then, when I was old enough to have a computer, I started there. Now, I’m 28 years old and I finally hit that button. The one that I’ve thought about it over and over again for the past 16 years. There is no greater joy, or fear, at realizing you’ve just accomplished something that you’ve wanted to do for so very long. That is my greatest accomplishment and I look forward to hitting that button on many more.
I really like the rest of the series and other books by this author, but this one was really hard to slog through. I kept putting it down and would do other things around the house. Forced myself to pick it up today to finish it. I don't know why I felt that way. Karissa was ok, hated the threat coming her way, liked her old team. By the end of the book, I was just glad to be done.
Karissa is a woman who holds a lot of secrets. She has been by her best friends side helping protect her when she had no where else to turn. Having that sorted Karissa should have moved on and she definitely should have stayed away from Razor. She has tried calling it off with the obstinate man, but it always ends up with her in bed with Razor and trying to kick him out the next day. She should leave, but when a threat comes back from her past she needs all the help she can get.
Razor has claimed Karissa as his Old Lady, even if she is fighting him tooth and nail about it. He decides its time but when he finds out she is being threatened he vows to protect her Karissa is more then she seems though and Razor is not deterred by any of it. Now he just needs to convince her they are stronger together once the threat is gone.
This was a surprise. I was wondering the back story for Karissa and it was mind blowing Razor is a new favorite, he is brash, determined and pure alpha male. There is so much to this story that I am not even delving into but holy moly was this intense.
Not my favorite of the series. I had a hard time connecting with Karissa. I love a kick ass female, but something just annoyed me about her attitude. Anyway, still looking forward to the next book!
Another must read MC romance from one of my favorite authors!
Do you love a strong, independent FMC and a MMC who can handle her but is a softy at heart? If you said yes this story is for you! There is a lot to unpack about Karissa and Razor is ready for the job. These two have incredible chemistry, their time together will melt your kindle and make you blush.
This story has everything you’d want from a MC romance- suspense, obsessive, possessive alpha males, heat and suspense. We get to revisit some of my favorites from previous stories (they don’t need to be read first BUT I highly recommend) as well a meeting some new characters who I’m secretly hoping we will see in a new series soon!
I loved that this book the heroine was a bad ass and could hold her own and give the men a run for there money. I loved it it was intense but I loved it
A classic Mac romance boom Sith a strong female lead character. Would definitively recommend this book as part of the Dragons MC series (book 4), but can be read as a standalone.
3.5-4 Stars - This installment in the series focuses on Karissa (Esme’s best friend that we know has a mysterious past and that she has fighting/weapons skills) and Razor. The two main characters have explosive chemistry between them. There’s lots of fighting as foreplay (hot 🥵) and some fun, steamy scenes. Who knew gym equipment could have so many uses 😉. Karissa is the one being chased in this story, both by Razor who wants her as his Old Lady and by a psychotic person from her past.
I typically love a harda$$, strong (both mentally and physically), capable, sassy, feisty female lead. They’re actually my favorites. Karissa is all of this - but irrational and makes very dumb and selfish decisions. I just couldn’t like her. I get that a lot of her behavior was a trauma response, but the level of selfishness and putting people in additional danger by not sharing information AND constantly trying to go it alone - was fairly unforgivable. It got to the point where I wasn’t sure why Razor was pursuing her so hard. He didn’t really know anything about her and she was awful to him at parts, so why?
We get a lot of background about Karissa and her very troubled history. We don’t really know anything about Razor or how he joined the club, outside that he has a good relationship with his parents. Razor, Jax, and a new character are my favorites in this book and they make it a good read. I wanted to know a lot more about Razor, especially since he made it clear he was content to always be a lothario and didn’t want an old lady. He was an alpha, but also sweet, strong, and intense. He was certainly flawed and made mistakes, but he actively tried to give Karissa everything she needed and wanted throughout the story.
There’s tons of action and we see a lot of the club. I love those aspects of the book. The scenes where Karissa let’s her walls down and can just be with Razor are awesome. We, are hopefully shown, how a new spinoff series is going to come about and I’m super excited.
Klarissa and Razor have a casual relationship. Klarissa grew up in foster care and endured a lot. She keeps details about her past a secret and has learned to be a fighter. When her past returns planning to harm her, she knows people she is close to may get caught up in the danger. She decides to leave town. Razor refuses to let her go.
Klarissa and Razor have so much chemistry. Her fierceness mixed with his protective bossy personality results in some explosive foreplay. Klarissa fights with everything she has to push Razor away. I felt emotional turmoil seeing Razor share his feelings and fight with everything he had to keep her. There is a lot of push and pull between the two and fighting that leads to some steamy scenes.
The MC club plays a huge part in the book. I love the dynamics of the Dragon MC. The stubborn alpha men, sassy women, snarky kids, and surprise visitors add so much to the story. The scenes with the club members were some of my favorites. They know how to bring the action, banter, and hilarious (and sometimes embarrassing) situations. This is an MC club so don’t expect a light read. There are club girls, violence, and morally gray actions.
This was a fast-paced, action-packed page-turner with tension, danger, action, romance, and witty banter.
This is Book 4 in the Dragons MC series. It can be read as a standalone, but I feel reading the series in order is a better experience. Razor and Klarissa are introduced in previous books and each book leads into the next. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
A big high five to this author as girl power rules in the 4th book in the wonderful Dragons MC series, every time I pick up an Emily Rose book, I know that I will close the last page and eagerly await what is to come next, and I am never disappointed.
I want to be Karissa when I grow up this woman does not suffer falls gladly and after what she went through at the hands of one of the foster children she was with as a child you can understand the path she choice which makes me fall in love with her even more, now 10-years on from leaving foster care, she has been for awhile settled with her best friend at the Dragons MC, Karissa always has one eye on the door in case her past comes back to haunt her, she never lets anyone get to close not even bad boy biker Razor who she thinks she has a friends with benefit thing going on, but Razor has other plans, when danger comes calling the MC finally realises that Karissa isn't a woman that needs saving or protecting she can do it perfectly fine, thank you very much, but sometimes relying on other people can be a blessing as well as a curse, Razor will do what ever he can to look after the woman he loves he just has to convenience Karissa to let him in to more than just her bed, emotions are high, the chemistry hot, the storyline perfect.
I have been waiting for this book and it did not disappoint.
Karissa grew up in foster care and in her last home one of the girls tried to kill her and has never given up trying to kill her, so Karissa kept moving from place to place.
Karissa did a lot of training to make sure she could keep herself safe.
Razor has never wanted to settle down or to have an old lady, but when he met Karissa things changed for him and he wanted that life, but the only problem is Karissa does not want a relationship so she keeps fighting it.
The chemistry they both have together is off the charts.
Karissa's foster sister has found her again, so she needs to leave, but when Razor finds out what is going on, he will not let her leave.
Razor is determined to make Karissa know how much she means to him. But Karissa is hot headed, stubborn, she does not need a man to save her, she can do it herself.
Will Karissa let Razor in and see how much they can be a team and let the club help her.
Or will Razor leave her when he knows about her past
They both deserve, they both can have for each other.
Emily Rose, you've knocked another brilliant book out of the ball park. !
I was so looking forward to this book and I was certainly not disappointed.
It was interesting to see the dynamics between Razor and karissa and their chemistry was off the charts hot . But their inbuilt passion to protect, and the stubbornness that was them was like watching a tennis match at times .
They both have each other a run for their money and they both where running . One running to something he's always wanted and one running from something that nearly killed her when she was a teen.
The ghosts of Karissa past always found ways to haunt her and and the trail of dead bodies solidified karissa's notion to never trust anyone and to always be in guard . But how do you let your guard down and let someone in when you've only had yourself to rely on from a young age ?.
This book had so many twists , so many layers to the characters and just when you thought you've got things figured out up pops your old crew and are hell bent on keeping you alive at all costs .
I highly recommend this series I can't wait for more .
Karissa has quite the awful past, and it's left its mark that's for sure but she is a strong heroine that I couldn't help but love even with some of her questionable decisions that I didn't agree with (that's just me). She has a casual relationship with Razor, and honestly, they're definitely hot together but they're also perfect for each other as well. I loved the fact that he was the one to give in to the feelings they caught first, but Karissa does have a secret or two that she's worried about getting out, not to mention the fact that the past has come back to bite her in the behind & it puts everyone in danger. He's not about to let her get away, and would burn the world down to protect her, but she's determined to run to get the trouble away from everyone, so there is a certain amount of push & pull at the end of the day. This story had sexiness, suspense with twists coming in hot, super protective mouth watering bikers, and action with an exciting bow so yeah, I absolutely LOVED it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Neither wanted commitment. Both for the other irresistible no matter how hard they fought to resist.
Secrets! Everyone has them but hers were completely secret and no one knew. She'd run for too long. Was it time to settle and get free?
He'd watch his club brothers finding their ole ladies and changing. Not for him. At least not until Karissa. It was back and forth. The other guy's women were tough and pulled some stunts he'd never allow! At least until that bad, amazing friend of Esme's had come with Esme and her son. They were the best and Karissa had protected them.
Secrets. Danger. Steam--hot steam. So much more. Talk about a page-turner, this one just keeps you guessing and reading to find out the next impossible. An amazing book with amazing characters as well as a series you have to have the next book time after book. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series, and this is Razor and Karissa’s story. Karissa grew up in the foster system and has had a tough life, and she endured so much at the hands of a foster sister. Razor has been content not having an old lady and is happy with the casual relationship between himself and Karissa. When the past comes back to haunt Karissa, she is determined to leave to protect those close to her, but Razor has other ideas, and he is determined to protect and keep her safe by any means. This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with danger, suspense, intrigue, twists, revelations, secrets, romance, humor, witty banter, family, friendships, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an unpredictable, haunting, entertaining, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Karissa and Razor. Karissa is a girl who has a mysterious past. She is a girl who has had weapons training and she is not afraid to show that off when she has to. She is a girl who never trust anyone and is always on guard. She has stayed around for her best friend. To protect her when she had to and she is not really sure why she hasn't moved on by now. Razor is stubborn. So so stubborn but at the heart of him is a very protective man. However, Karissa has secrets, lots of them that even her best friend doesn't know about. Those ghosts are always popping up too. However those secrets make Razor realize that he doesn't know her as well as he thought he did. This book is full of twists and turns and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I really loved reading this book and can't wait for more from this author.
The plot was weird and I struggled to figure out why Karissa and Razor got such a bland, confusing story.
Having read the previous book, I came in familiar with the characters and storylines. Karissa and Razor have been "together" since the previous book, giving me a preview of their chemistry and it kept me curious as to how their story would go down, as they were already..."together," ya know?
And their story disappointed.
The plot made zero sense. Karissa is supposed to be some bad ass mercenary and yet she's been letting some bland, stupid, psycho ex-adopted sister stalk her for YEARS? Instead of killing the rotten c-u-next-Tuesday, she just kept running and hoping for the best? You're supposed to be a badass mercenary. I'd have offed that cow in less than a minute. And thus she is the reason you couldn't stay with a badass in a MC?
ZERO. SENSE. IT ALL MADE ZERO SENSE. I just couldn't somehow make it even a little bit practical.
Double the Dilemma is an entertaining read. I scowled at Razor as he was a stubborn male struggling to realize his vision and reality of his and Karissa's relationship is different. I was proud of Karrisa as she resists Razor's demands. Karissa has secrets directing her choices that not even her best friend Esme knows. People from Rissa's secrets come forth, leading Razor to realize he does not know Karissa as well as he thinks he does. Finally, Razor begins to understand why Karissa has not given in to his numerous charms. Read as Razor and Karissa accept their future is different than either envision and find a rich and more intimate relationship than either could imagine.
Along the way, Rose lays the groundwork for future plots and sets up another series. Book #5 in the series publication is expected in early fall of 2023.
This book is #4 in The Dragons MC but I had no trouble jumping into the series with this book. There are crossover characters I am assuming from the first three but there is enough backstory given that it isn’t confusing. Razor and Karissa are both stubborn hot heads that are so focused on being independent they keep butting heads. The make up after the arguments is some steamy reading. The plot is well thought out and keeps things exciting till the end. My only complaint is that Razor kept threatening all sorts of fun naughty things he was going to do to Karissa but never really did any of them. They always ended up having pretty straight forward hot s*x. It was well written and enjoyable but I don’t like to be teased. I am going to go back and read the first three books at some point because I enjoyed the side characters in this one.
This story is going to compel you into the MC world where men protect those they love with everything they have and will not let anyone or anything threaten them. This book is filled with intense emotions, dark pasts, and a very hot tempered love between Razor & Karissa!
Razor never expected all these emotions surrounding Karissa but he won’t let her run from him. He wants her to be his Old Lady and he’s determined to make her see just how much!
Karissa had a rough and tough upbringing in foster care and her deadly past is coming back to finish the job. Karissa can’t bring that type of crazy to her new life. She has people here she cares about but Razor isn’t going to let her go….but can she put him in danger and everyone else she’s come to care for.
You will devour this story and it’s an amazing MC romance that will keep you wanting more! Happy Reading!!
I love this series so much. It is great that past couples are featured as well. There have been many strong women that have come around in these books, but I have to say that Karissa is my favorite. She is a hellcat. Beware her claws as she will scratch your eyes out while flipping you over her head. Razor learned this the hard way and has some bruises to show for it.
The on and on again chemistry that Karissa and Razor share is sizzling. I say on and on because as much as Karissa wanted to tell herself that she and Razor were not an item, once he got his hands on her, she was putty in his hands.
I want to give a shout out to Karissa's friend, Glitch. Right away, I love her snarky attitude. She is a pink haired demon. I hope to see more of her again in the future.
This was my first book in the Dragon MC series and you get to meet a lot of characters. You can definitely read it as a standalone but it’s recommend to read the previous books, so you get the full picture. Karissa is very strong, independent woman and Razor is your typical MC male but with a sweet edge. Karissa made some irrational and selfish decisions and she made it hard to understand het decisions. I wondered why Razor kept pursuing her because she wasn’t always nice to him. On the other hand there were a lot of steamy scenes and some side characters like Jax and Glitch made the story fun. Tom seems like a fun character as well. Curious to read the next book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What can I say? As always this author knocks it out of the park yet again with these two. I've been patiently waiting for this book since they showed up in book 2. The chemistry and heat between these two is off the charts crazy. Karissa has things she has never told her best friend Esme and she thinks the best thing she can do is run away. Razor doesn't want her to go and will do whatever it takes to keep her there and safe. We meet some old friends of Karissa in this book that have everyone up in arms especially a few certain people lol. If you are looking for a good MC series you really need to check this series out. If will keep you on the edge of your seat while also making you laugh so hard.
This one felt more unfinished at the end. Like it’s just not a HEA just a HFN. That is an Ick for me. Like I need the full complement HEA in great detail. our girl was a real ball buster and after a while it did get old. Like ok maybe this part of her story is just too played out and her Arc took far too long to get to. She didn’t just meet her man or the club so she should have already been sorting out her rough edges a bit. And all I keep think about it the next book and how I have zero patience and never would have started this series if I knew it was incomplete! I need it NOW! Whenever time lapses between books I feel like I can never give it 100 focus because it’s been time lapses and I forget stuff. And I don’t do rereads so…give us Code!
This story oh was it interesting. If you read Twice the Treasurer you were introduced to Karissa. Karissa is the girl you want as a friend. Karissa is beautiful but knew who she was. The girl was a secret that no one had uncovered. Razor was determined to figure out that secret. The energy between them was intense and those bedroom moments were off the charts. I loved the base of this story but there were moments when I just was not a fan of Karissa. I am all for a strong independent female but I felt she was over the top sometimes. I sometimes wondered why Razor dealt with it. If you take those moments out of the book it would have been perfect to me.
Double the Dilemma by Emily Rose is the story of Razor and Karissa. She has lots of secrets. He only knows he wants her. There’s an evil woman from her past who wants her gone. Though, we never really ever find out why??
The idea behind this story is great! There’s so much dialogue! Usually, there isn’t enough. But, this story has way too much. And there’s a lot of repetition. He’s constantly telling her he’s not playing…or it’s not a game. She’s always saying that she doesn’t need help. She’s always taken care of herself. He’s not a very strong MC type that he is portrayed to be. He tries to talk her into everything.
This is another Awesome Book. This book is book 4, in the "Dragons MC " series. I couldn't put this book down, because I needed, to find out , what was going to happen. Been waiting , for their book, since book 2. Definitely, was not, disappointed!! 💓 Razor and Katissa. This book has Bass@** women, secrets, former foster sister threatening to kill her, MC, romance, suspense, unpredictable, entertaining, page turner, fast pace, lots of Chemistry, hold my attention, HEA, mysterious past, another MC, Fighting in the ring, and So Much More!! Definitely, this MC series and author. Rereading the next book now. On my reread list.
Who doesn’t love a biker MC and a bad sass FMC this is my first read in the Dragon MC series but I really couldn’t have started in a better place because I love these characters! Razor is a sexy hot head and Karissa is strong and sassy and that woman can kick to sass. The storyline was great and intriguing waiting for the shoe to drop and the action to start. The spice was oh so delicious I love me some good dirty banter. Really glad I got this ARC how I am good to read all the other books before the 5th book comes out and you should to!!
Karissa grew up in foster care, and like many of them, there's always a bully of a sort in the house, and Sena was that and more. Karissa has a hard time giving up power and can definitely protect herself, but Razor just wants to love her, and yes protect her or at the very least have her back and stand beside her. There are some twist and turns throughout and very interesting new characters that were included in this story, but I'll let you read it for yourself to see what happens next. You'll love it and it's a MUST READ!!!! Happy reading.
What an amazing book. Karissa is such a strong female character. Emily did an outstanding job. Her and Razor's story is phenomenal. The banter between those two is top-notch. Throughout this book you learn more about Karissa and how she became to be such a strong person. As always with Emily's books the whole MC is involved and you get a true sense of family. In addition we also got to meet her "other" family , and I'm hoping we get to see more of them in the future. You will not be able to put this book down.
