The traditional CV is dead. Discover how to write your CV in the new way - the way that careers advisors, leading recruiters and business schools say works. Learn how to sell yourself instead of documenting your career history give yourself the ultimate jobsearch advantage - learn how to Pitch Yourself in your CV and in interviews. This is the new edition of the CV book endorsed by over 40 leading business schools and universities.
This is a book that really looks at resumes differently. The ideas shared by the authors are different and will definitely make an impact on the reader sufficiently to get called to the interview.
I like that they have actually shared samples of resumes created by their clients who come from different industries and roles.
While it's not a long book, i felt that there is repetition of ideas. So it could have been 10 pages on less, more, if the font size was reduced by a couple of points.
A very practice book for CV enhancing, easy to read and an easy guide to come back time to time to refresh CV, cover letter but also how to approach to different stakeholders eg email.
RE-READ JUNE 2017: I always pull this out when I want to brush up my resumé and it never fails to be good value.
OLDER REVIEW: It's been a while since I read this (actually, maybe 10 years?) but I remember it greatly shaped how I thought about putting together my resume, so I think that's a good thing. Not in the same league as the legendary "What Color Is Your Parachute?", though.
