Hannah suddenly finds that she has time travelled once again, but this time is different. After helping save a woman's life, Hannah discovers that she has completely altered the timeline and thrown her very existence into jeopardy.
Facing life-threatening effects upon returning to her own time, Hannah is then given a death sentence: if she time travels again, she will die. Now, Hannah must solve the clues to her own identity and find a way to save her own life before she is once again sent spiraling through time.
Will her mother's locket hold the key to both her past and her future? Has she just found the love of her life only to lose him? Could God have a plan for Hannah amidst the chaos?
Great series. Book two had a lot more suspense than the first installment. Great time travel premise which makes for an intriguing read. A definite book to pick up on Kindle Unlimited.
After hearing great things about this book and finishing book one (which had a crazy ending - in a good way), I was looking forward to reading The Locket very much. While I really liked "Yesterday", I enjoyed this one even more! Not only did I already know the characters and the beginning to Hannah's story (which made getting into the book very easy), but there were also some shocking developments to the story!
I thought it was very interesting what Hannah realized towards the end...though I have to say, trying to figure out the whole time travel conundrum was mind boggling! I was pretty happy when I guessed one thing correctly about the story - after being flabbergasted by several plot elements, it was nice that I was able to figure out one thing before Hannah. ;)
The ending was good. I'm curious about where the story goes from here and hope I'll have the chance to read book three in the near future. I recommend "The Locket" if you enjoy time travel novels...I enjoyed it a lot! :)

This was my first read by this author so I didn't quite know what to expect but I LOVED this book! This is the second book in a series and I have not read the first one so I was mildly confused by some things in the story, but the author wrote it in such a great way that it was pretty easy to get up to speed on what had happened in the previous book! I loved these characters, Hannah reminded me quite a bit of myself and I really admired her determination, caring nature, and curiosity! And oh my, Seth was such an amazing hero, his devotion, protectiveness, humor, tenderness, and swoon worthy bedside manner all make him a hero worthy of any and all admiration! :) I love stories about time travel and this one was totally unique and unlike anything I've ever read! There is so much more I want to say but I don't want to risk spoiling it so I will just say that I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. I did read the second book before the first but I would recommend reading the series, I can't wait to go back and read the first one as soon as I have time! And I'm very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series! Amanda Tru has a new fan in me!
Oh boy, did this one made my head spin with the plot twists. I gasped a couple of times because I just didn’t see that coming! So many questions formed throughout the book that Tru explained well as the storyline progressed, yet still many more questions to be answered!! Still trying to figure out “how?!” on some of her time travels.
I loved how the author is using this book in the series to focus on Hannah finding out who she is. This points back to us and our identity in God and how he has worked (past) and is working (present) in our lives as His child. But also her continued battle of waiting versus taking things into her own hands to find “the cure” and answers. That’s often how we are when things are going as we’d like or progressing as fast as we’d hope.
(Spoilers)
I also liked how it turns out that it’s her emotions (strong ones) that send her time traveling. She wrestles with having to control her emotions which most of us struggle with as well. If she doesn’t get them under control it could be the death of her. This transfers to real life; our emotions can be deadly if not managed.
I found it a bit odd though that Seth’s anger and white lies are dismissed as him just loving her so much and that he’s trying to protect her. I had a hard time with that character trait of his throughout the story. To me anger is anger and a lie is still a lie.
But overall loved this one and thought it was even better than the first in this series. However still scratching my head on a few things, so off to the next book!

Lots of questions answered and more brought to light. There was much more medical technology in this book and unfortunately a trope that I do not enjoy came to light—A Love Triangle. It’s just awkward to read about and felt uncomfortable. So far I don’t see how it adds to the story. I still don’t know how it ends and why she had this time traveling ability so the reading of this series will continue.
A time travel romance with a couple jaw dropping plot twists that will keep readers glued to the pages! I’m completely hooked to the series and can’t wait to keep reading to see what happens next!
Well done, Amanda Tru! I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Locket and was amazed at all the details you put into Book 2 of your Yesterday Series. I enjoyed Book 1 'Yesterday' but this one really put it all together for me. It is exciting, mesmerizing, mysterious and thought provoking. I haven't really been involved in reading time travel much in the past, but you certainly have opened doors to the future for me. What could happen if..............
Thanks for a beautiful, funny, clean read with lots of excitement to keep the pages turning. I look forward to following Hannah, Seth, Wayne, Katherine, Abby and all your characters as they pass through their time.
Wow, for any readers who enjoyed The Time Traveler's Wife, this book is one you definitely need to read. After reading Yesterday, I was dying to know the significance of "the locket" that Hannah's father gave to her. The locket will be important to the solving of the mystery of Hannah's time-travel and to whether or not, a plan can be developed to save her life. Wayne and Seth are working tirelessly to do just that, but are not having a great deal of success. What I love about this book: several things! One, the suspense, humor, and romance in Amanda's writing....Two, the assurance that God has a plan for each of us and while we don't get to see the many little details that God works out for our lives as Hannah does when she time travels, we are reminded that God cares greatly for each individual life. This book made me long to be able to time travel myself and to be able to "see" the things that God has done to bring my life together and to mold me and make me into who I am today, just as he does for Hannah. I will not give details so that I don't spoil the book for readers, as I personally HATE it when someone ruins a book for me by telling me too much....read this book! You will not be sorry you did!! p.s. I want more!! I want to know what happens to Hannah after this book ends!!!!
Stars: 4 stars Read: July 2024 Format: Kindle e-Book Challenge Prompt: CNL’s #6 of 50 - “genre outside of my comfort zone” (new to time travel/fantasy/sci-fi)
Book #67 of 2024: This is an interesting series with time travel and a little of the fantasy genre. It keeps a fast pace with some romance, family love, and friendship thrown in.
Sometimes it gets a bit confusing and I’m wondering why she is allowed to change everything and how that relates to dependence on God?
Hannah is terrified to learn that she has time traveled once again, but this time is different. After helping to save a woman's life, Hannah discovers that she has completely altered the timeline and thrown her very existence into jeopardy.
Facing life-threatening effects upon returning to her own time, Hannah is given a death sentence: if she time travels again, she will die. Now, Hannah must solve the mystery of her own identity - gather the clues to explain her continued existence - and find a way to save her own life before she is once again sent spiraling through time.
Does her mother's locket somehow hold the key to both Hannah's past and her future? Has she found the love of her life only to lose him? Could God have a plan for Hannah even in such a chaotic world?
Once again, I completely loved this book! This story picked up right where Yesterday left off, drawing me into the action right away. I couldn't wait to see how the story would develop, and I cared for the characters and their various plights. Amanda Tru has earned another big, blazing A+! from me, and I look forward to reading the third book in this series, Today, some time soon.
The Locket : Book two by: Amanda Tru Wow, this series just get better. The Locket picks up where Yesterday book one ended. Hannah has already time traveled two times and they are worried that another one could put her life in danger. She might not come out of another one. Seth is trying to get Hannah to let him look at her records and do some testing on her. Now Hannah is not suppose to get upset, but this upsets her. She has time traveled again and this time she has carried Seth with her. Why has Seth been able to come with her this time? Her mother's life is in danger. Are they able to change the course and save her? Hannah's life is also in jeopardy from her travel again. Seth does not want to lose Hannah , he loves her. Hannah is really bad this time after her travel . It is worst than any of the others. Hannah does a different travel and this time she finds some answers to some of her questions. Will Dr. Seth and Dr. Wayne find something that will stop Hannah's time travels? The Locket has a lot of twist and turns and you can't wait to read what happens next. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.
4.5 Oh my goodness! This was so good! It was better than the first one. I found myself holding onto my Nook every moment as I read through the pages.
In this second installment, we came to learn the truth behind Hannah's identity. The story started off immediately after the first book. Seth and Hannah have both been transported to the past during the time Hannah's mom was giving birth. Hannah came to learn something shocking, which lead her to search for answers about herself. This book was full of surprising twists that had me wondering how everything was going to be tied together or simply end. Unlike the first book, this one does not end with a cliffhanger but ends with a happy note.
I greatly enjoyed reading this one. I am highly looking forward to the rest of the series.
The Locket starts off right where Yesterday ends. In this book Hannah time travels again but this time with Seth and they save Hannahs mother's life. After saving her mom Hannah realizes there's a lot about her past she doesn't know. While trying to figure everything out she travels to the future and learns so much about her past and her future. Even though she changes things again Hannah realizes that maybe she was meant to change the past so her future would be the way it's meant to be. I liked getting to know the characters a little better and was surprised to learn about Hannahs family secrets. I did like Yesterday just a little better but The Locket is a great book also. Now I'll just have wait for the next book and see what happens next!
I read this book in one sitting and stayed up way too late to finish it. I could not put it down once I started it. I was still thinking about it the next day and how all the characters are intertwined. I highly recommend the series. Although the books can stand alone I recommend reading them in order so that the reveals are more impactful. The author keeps you guessing. There is a great cast of characters and they all seem to have a purpose. The story has humor, suspense, family relationships, and clean romance. I am ready for the next one!!
The Locket is the second book in the Yesterday series. This story picks up right where the first left off. I was very engaged in the story of this book. It could be that I read it immediately after finishing Yesterday . I knew the characters and knew the history.
I couldn't put the book down. This is another Novella length story. Amanda Tru knows how to pack in the information and plot into a small frame. I admit that before I had finished the last sentence I went to Amazon and purchased the third book, Today . I can't wait to continue the story.
This series just keeps getting better!!! And after "Yesterday" I wasn't sure that was possible (it was soooo good!!!) I am so thrilled with the way the story has progressed. Amanda Tru has bewitched me with her writing style, characters, this series (I could go on and on) "the Locket" brought out so many emotions in me as I read. This series is just so good, I cannot recommend it anymore than to say- GET IT NOW!!!
Although I'm not a huge fan of time-travel stories, I did enjoy The Locket.
There were some really bizarre parts which I had difficulty wrapping my head around; but, other than that, I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I look forward to reading books three and four in the series at some point.
This series was the first I read of Amanda's. I am still waiting to see if she will continue the time travel books and let us see more. My wife has read all of her books twice. I do not take much time for leasure reading, but when I do I always look to see if she has a new release.
loved this book too! this is the 2nd in the series and just found out (by the sneak peek at the end) that there will be a 3rd book called Tomorrow. This book did wrap things up pretty nicely so now I wonder what else is in store for Hannah, Seth and the gang
I enjoyed this book but I feel like she should have quit with this one. I decided not to finish the series after reading the synopsis of the others. For me personally I read to escape reality.
