5/5 stars. Sanctification has been a topic heavy on my heart lately, and this book was exactly what I needed to hear. I love how Luke LeFevre contextualizes for young adults yet writes in a way that any audience can understand. His exegesis and contextualization of Scripture in a modern, easy to read way reminds us that consecration is not just for the days of the Old Testament but rather is still a practice for us today. Favorite quote from this book is, "Sin can no more exist in God’s presence than a gnat can fly to the heart of the sun." I also deeply appreciated the comparison between legalism and "God loves me as I am." The use of Matthew 28:19-20 in that sense was an eye-opening moment for me. Overall, I highly recommend this short read to any Believer looking to dive deeper into the topic of holiness.

“The call ho be holy unto the Lord has been inscribed on our hearts as followers of Jesus.” (23)

“A pure pursuit of holiness comes from a burning desire to see and exalt God. A legalistic pursuit of holiness comes from a desires for other people to see and exalt us.” (26)

“If we truly want to see the power of God restored to the church in our day, we should also have a fierce desire to see the purity of the people of God restored in our day - starting in our own lives.” (41)

“A friend of the world is someone who gets “cozy” with sin. They get comfortable with the ways and values of the world instead of staying committed to the ways and values of the Word.” (48)

A short read on what it means to live a holy life from the biblical perspective. Luke does a great job at drawing the differences between legalism and holiness, reactive and proactive living, and digging into what it means to seek holiness in our generation.
