Great Read

Ellie Winters couldn’t get a job teaching school in her hometown because of her brothers bad habits of drinking and gambling. She answered an ad from Oregon looking for a teacher so she applied and got the job. She was to stay with the retiring teacher who had her son living with her and he was a Sheriff. Charlie Newton didn’t want to put his heart out for live for fear of losing them. However, he began courting the school teacher. An evil man who Charlie’s father sent to prison came back for revenge. The evil man kidnapped Ellie and five of the children for a ransom. They were rescued by Charlie and the town’s men. There are several twists and turns to this story. A must read.

This book captured me from the beginning to the end! Ellie wants to be a teacher, and heads West to make that happen. Charlie is the Sheriff, and when they meet there is definite attraction. Charlie just wants to be a good Sheriff and protect the town and all the people. Now he finds himself unexpectedly that he is captivated by Ellie. But there are nefarious things happening, and an angry violent force doesn't want things to go well, to put it mildly. If you are ready for some excitement, fear, and love, read this great book!

FallingFor His Gentle Soul

This was an interesting story. Ellie was raised by her brother Dale. Their parents became sick, and made Dale promise, to raise Ellie properly.when she became about 14, he became lax is his duties as a brother. He started going to the saloon at night and ringing. Ellie continued in with her education, learning as much as she could. Time came she knew she had to change her life and become a teacher. She answered a mail order notice for a teacher and this is where her new life begins.

Historical Western Romance + Adventure

I absolutely loved this book! I was immediately drawn to the heroine and her story; her determination to take control of her life and her willingness to do the hard thing to make that happen are just the beginning of her adventures. This is a book that makes you forget you're reading! The author uses vivid imagery to truly bring the characters to life.

I only noticed one typo.

Good

I enjoyed the story and the extended epilogue. However, the book seemed to drag a bit for me towards the end. Really enjoyed how the mother got her HEA as well. Liked how Ellie addressed things with Molly. Wallace was a good friend too. Would've been nice to know whether the brother actually DID change or not.
Still, a good read with a good ending.

Sweet romance

If you love romance and aren't picky about modern words used in a historical setting, you'll probably love this.
For me it's a bit too much like a book for young readers. That's not a bad thing, just not my cup of tea.

Charlie the sheriff and Ellie the teacher

Having a brother only for family who was becoming a drunk and gambler, Ellie decides to answer an ad to be a teacher in Oregon and make a new start all on her own. The retiring teacher is also the sheriff’s mom. Good story!
