Nothing better then a little suspense with some amazing sex!! Once again Lexxi James has written one hell of a book! I knew when it started out with kathryn asking Latin heart throb and the go to guy with the answers paco about finding a dom for a little bdsm that it was gonna get hot!!! I loved the chemistry and the natural flow between these two characters. Kathryn is smart,sassy and good with comebacks and one liners and Jake is sexy,good looking and a very take charge kind of guy and knows how to talk and touch a woman. I love how Lexxi not only gives you a hot steamy read,but also has a edge of suspense!Their are plenty twists and turns and some really great side characters as well. I think one of these characters is gonna be real important down the road,I could be wrong but..... Lexxi sometimes leaves clues to future books, I guess I will have to wait and see if I'm right. Can't wait to read more from this amazingly talented writer!!! You want to know how good this book was....... The Hero(es): Jake Russo - Jake knew the name of the woman that saved his life but she left the dessert and the army before he recovered. When he left after his recovery, he looked her up and kept an eye on her to make sure she was safe.
The story:When Kathryn goes to her good friend Paco Robles about her interest in BDSM, Paco knows of a former Dom, who he feels would like nothing better to introduce Kathryn to the BDSM world so she can see if being a submissive is something she wants.
I liked the story in this book. It turns out that Kathryn and Jake’s lives intersect at more than just one point and they end up working together on an investigation that Kathryn has been working on. One that has gotten dangerous for her. The romance is great and the chemistry between them is sizzling hot! I am starting on the next book right away!

Lexxi James has done it again!!!You know if your favorite spicy latino character Paco is making an appearance you know you are in for a treat. " Wherever Paco went, excitement followed" Paco to the rescue again to find his friend Kathryn what she was missing from her life, a Dom!!! Kathryn is curious enough to do something stupid and Paco wants to ensure her the best experience ever. Of course Paco has a Dom close by because he knows everyone and is all knowing Paco Robles. He gave Jake Russo a call, Jake has given up on who he is but with two words from Paco, Kathryn Chase, Jake immediately stopped and now has a change of mind. You ask why would an ex Dom/ex solider trained to have tons of control & stamina stop in his tracks. You must read to get the very delicious chemistry that Jake & Kathryn has and how they end up playing Dom/sub while they worked on a case Kathryn didn't understand she was in danger until it was too late. Arc provided for honest opinion!!!

Lexi delivers another suspense filled read that left me on the edge and furiously thinking who.
As always her characters are flawless the storyline is pure perfection, not only in the writing but the research she puts into her stories. Your in for a phenomenal reading experience when you dive in.
Jake was an amazing male lead. Strong sexy military males who are slightly damaged are my jam. And Jake is no exception. Having nearly lost his life while on deployment it’s one nurse who refuses to give up on him. Kathryn has never been far from his thoughts or his eyes. Watching and protecting to keep her safe.
Kathryn our lead heroine is strong, smart and takes no crap from anyone. After her last deployment she was done. Broken and weighed down with the heavy loss of life would break even the strongest person. She never forgot the soldier she saved the one that everyone else gave up on.
Now working as an I insurance investigator. Still she yearns for something. There’s something missing from her life. She knows what it is but voicing it aloud and doing something about it has been a struggle. Confiding in Paco ( I seriously love this guy) she dares to step out of her comfort zone with his help.
What she didn’t expect was it to lead to Jake.

Holy Hotness! This is a fantastic book. I literally read it the whole way through without pause because I couldn’t put it down. Ok, in all fairness, I did have to take a few pee breaks. This book will capture your heart and mind and won’t let go until the last word, and then some. Jake and Kathryn are amazing characters and I loved their story, which is plum full of action, suspense, intrigue, sexiness, and emotion. You do not want to miss out on this amazing Must Read! Lexxi James is an brilliant storyteller and I cannot wait for her next book!

This was a great,smart and steamy read. As much as Jake hold back, he shows Kathryn a lot of himself. Kathryn is a great heroine. She is no one’s door mat. Lots of action and some great twists. This is a really fun read!

In Fallen Dom we are introduced to a whole new world of characters in beautiful Colorado. The worlds that Lexxi creates have such stunning detail, you feel as if you are right there with the characters. Jake Russo is a veteran who has great taste in vehicles and particular tastes in the bedroom 😉
I don’t want this review to be filled with spoilers, but I will say you don’t want to miss this next book in Lexxi’s world. It will keep you page turning and guessing the whole time! I thought I had it figured out, but NOPE!!

What a Great story ! I fell for these characters almost immediately. The give and take, the push and pull of a Dom and sub had me really rooting for this couple. It was everything a g eat story should be. Laughter, love tears, suspense and danger all in one. I just went along with the ride.

Looking for a good romantic suspense with a little heat, then this is the book for you. I would say the BDSM is very mild so don't let that hold you back. Great character chemistry as these two have had incidental run in's on more than one occasion. Seems the time just might be right this time.

Kathryn was an army nurse now worked for an insurance fraud investigator, she was also interested in bdsm. Jake was going to be her Master.
This story was fantastic. Not focusing too much on the Dom side of things, it was mostly about the mystery they were trying to solve. There was drama, mystery, tension between the two, lots of steam and some romance. I enjoyed the dynamic between Jake and Kathryn. She was strong and independent, yet broken as was he. They focused on what they needed from each other which was pretty explosive from the start, but that is because there was history there as well. This was a fantastic story and one I highly recommend.

Kathryn was interested in finding out BDSM but Paco was not the one to show her. He enlists his friend Jake who said no until he found out it was Kathryn and he changed his mind. Jake was saved by Kathryn when they were both in the military and he always kept tabs on her because he loved her. There are many twists and turns in this book. Just when you think you know how it ends you get another path to follow. A very good read I highly recommend

Paco asks his friend Jake Russo to introduce Kathryn to BDSM. Jake agrees mainly because Kathryn had saved his life years ago and he had always kept tabs on her. I loved Jake and Kathryn characters and they had amazing chemistry. A great romantic suspense with lots of steam!

This book was a lovely story of a couple whose lives have intersected in the past in both large and small ways, and how they finally reach a point when the timing is right. I enjoyed that she wasn’t a fainting, inexperienced, stammering innocent with no idea how to take charge of her own life. I also really liked that she had expectations of receiving respect and to be treated with the deference her expertise had earned, and that the men in the story were not misogynist jerks. Their romance was a bit of a slow burn, in that the passion never overwhelmed the pair in a way that rocked the earth. Instead we’re given a pair whose feelings feeling as they develop trust and affection for one another. Yes, the period of time that elapses once they finally get together is short, but the time they spend together is authentic and under a pressure that the circumstances lend. So their feelings seem really believable. I wish we’d gotten more actual D/s scenes, but given her newness in the lifestyle, I didn’t feel unsatisfied that the BDSM intensity stopped where it did.

Thoroughly enjoyable read
The book premise is based on a watcher forced to act when Kathryn wants to explore kink more. Although I loved Jake and Kathryn, I don't think the above central premise as discussed in the blurb was executed well. Jake and Kathryn were great together, loved their banter and the way they worked together. But the heat in the book is only about a medium and BDSM it was not. If BDSM or a reference to domination may put you off, you don't have to worry about it in this book as the suspense element was the dominant theme. Even if I did get lost a bit with who was who from the good guys.
I originally received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and recently bought a copy of the revised version now titled Fallen (Sinful Soldier Romance book 1).

My favorite book from Lexxi James. I would give it 10 ⭐ if I could.
I like it when the book is not just about sex. By the title of the book you wouldn't say that. But there is a beautiful story about love and exploring sexuality. Kathryn and Jake are conected to each other on every level.
I love it that Kathryn is not some push around cray girl but independent and smart woman who can handle every situation. And Jake is hot🔥, patient and understanding. Perfect match.
And of course it wouldn't be Lexxi James book if Paco wasn't there🙈❤.

Kathryn is looking for something new in a particular area of her life, and enlists the help of a friend to find someone, who can fulfill that desire for her. Jake is just the man for the job! And when Kathryn is targeted by an unknown assailant, Jake does whatever he can to keep her safe.... and satisfied.
This was a great read - suspense, with action (in more ways than one!) I loved both Jake and Kathryn's characters, and their relationship, and enjoyed reading this story.

I loved this story!
Kathryn was having such a hard time personally but she wouldn't let that stop her from doing what needed to be done! She had just the man waiting in the wings to help her when she needed it all she had to do was reach out for him.
Although it wasn't really BDSM it was still steamy and very enjoyable

Wow! This book contains everything, . Drama, a bit spicy and an over the top alpha male. Its fast paced and well written. So easy to read and a page turner. I really enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a bit light on the bsm part of bdsm, but Jake does a good job as a Dom to Katheryn. Their relationship is off the charts sexy and there is a terrific mystery going on as well. As soon as they figure one thing out another problem pops up. Fast paced and great fun to read I was so taken with this story that I am writing this review at two o’clock In the morning. I love the fact that, in a book of this genre, Kathryn was strong and capable and the men on the teams around her appreciate that and it is made clear that she contributes as an important part of the teams. Her submission to Jake then becomes more about her needs than about Jake’s Dom personality. It was also was nicely written as part of their life during the time of the mystery rather than the mystery and action being excuses for sex scenes. I recommend this book.

This book brings us Jake and Kathryn. Jake is ex military who was injured and as a nurse, Kathryn refused to give up on him. He has kept tabs on the woman who saved his life. Kathryn is a very strong female, however, the time spent as a nurse in the military it became too much for her and she was released from duty. She became an insurance investigator, and someone is trying to get to her and stop her. She is also interested in learning about a submissive relationship as she has had trouble in the past with her lovers. She meets Jake, but is blindfolded, so all she hears is his voice. Jake has not been in the "dom" lifestyle for years, but once he sees Kathryn, he is all in. When Kathryn finds out it's Jake, she is shocked to say the least. And then Jake is there to help her with her investigation. There are twists and turns in this story, but the ending if fantastic. I really enjoyed reading the book.

Loved the story. Jake is hot with his protective ways and love of Kathryn. They just fit together. From their sleuthing to work and sexual play and everything in between. Loved her group of friends and how they all band together to help. They are a riot. And his coworkers are cool and they mesh well together on their investigations. Just wish some things had more fleshed out info. Like explaining everything Chelsea did to Kathryn so she understood where he was coming from. More should have been explained and delved into about how he was watching and protecting from afar for a couple years. Since she saved his life overseas. Loved them. So hot and steamy. Nothing over the top BDSM. Just enough D/s tendencies to make you fan your face and need a cool drink.

But since then Jake has been watching Kathryn and maybe the time is right finally for something to start between them. Add in a mystery, some BDSM and a few other things and then you also have their story continue in Rising.
I am just going to say that this book was a bit confusing for me at times as it seems to be a mash-up of several story-lines all trying to weave into one. I did just finally let go and travel where the author wanted to take the reader with the characters and the mystery. Overall it was a good read, just not what I was expecting.
