It was a good and insightful read with a lot of think pieces. I liked the way the author incorporated a book inside a book for the main characters to learn from as well. The end left a cliffhanger so I’m hoping there’s a follow up so we can see if the main characters actually used what they learned from their interpretation of My Refusal.

This "crossover" book is a fiction tale that weaves in a nonfiction book. The characters are interesting and the author's writing is expressive. The way the author shares his views on life as an African American, is very refreshing.
