Sonia Stanizzo is a contemporary romance writer who lives in the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales with her childhood sweetheart/husband and their three children. When she’s not dreaming up stories about couples and their road to finding love, sometimes bumpy but always a lot of fun, she can be found taking pole dancing lessons, reading, and writing.
I’ve read all of Ms. Stanizzo’s books to date, enjoying them all and this doesn’t disappoint. In Chloe, we have a smart, sexy, workaholic, 30-year-old virgin (that gets justified) who packs up her life in Sydney and moves to New York City looking for love – husband, kids, the lot! – after the death of a friend gives her a wake-up call. Out with friends for her thirtieth birthday she runs into Theo, it’s been a decade since the gorgeous club owner moved with his family to the States and he doesn’t immediately recognize her, he just sees this stunning woman on the dance floor. Wanting to punch her V-Card, Theo is the perfect person; she trusts him and him not recognizing her means the whole “brother’s best friend” code won’t get in the way – until he does, recognize her that is, but only after he gets her naked! Cue the awkwardness when her brother invites both of them to lunch the following day and then insists Theo take Chloe under his wing, show her around and keep an eye on her as she dips her toes into the New York dating scene. Of course, we know what’s going to happen from here and Ms. Stanizzo weaves lots of lighthearted moments, plenty of angst and a rollercoaster of emotions into a story that has plenty of steam as we peel back the layers of these characters and get them to a hard fought happily ever after. The epilogue is a great finishing touch that wraps it all up nicely.
Did I just finish this book in under 12 hours despite my toddler + work demanding my attention?? YES.
4.75 stars!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟.75 🔥🔥🔥.5 on the spice scale!!
When I tell you that I have never in my life liked a third person narrative in a book, I mean it. Usually, as soon as I see that, I have to DNF the book because it drives me nuts. But I decided to give this book a chance because of how well written the first few chapters are and let me tell you, that was one of the best decisions that I have ever made (apologies to my husband + kid, still love u both tho x)😍
CHLOEEEEEE! i loved her just a teeny bit more than the male MMC, Theo (i couldn’t help it!). She is everything I love in an FMC- truly and completely herself, willing to put herself out there to get what she wants, spunky, kind, caring, determined, dedicated, gives her all to those that she loves🥹 girl stole my heart!!
And Theo🥺 As upset as he would get me at times (i think i screamed every single time that he held back from his true feelings), I couldn’t help but love him. I don’t want to say much more in fear of spoiling it for others (go in as blind as you can!!!!) but his love for others in fear of hurting them or their life plans is sweet🥺
Theo and Chloe made me laugh, they made me cry; they ripped my heart apart a few times before patching it back up again. Their love for one another is beautiful and strong, able to withstand and overcome so much because of their want and need to be together. As someone who typically prefers darker books, I am so glad that I took a chance on this more lighthearted story because it really does depict such a true love. (And Chloe,as annoying as he may be, thank your big brother, girl!).
Matchmaker is a cute best-friend's-sister novel that is only a little annoying at times. The BFS trope is one of my favorites, so that's a saving grace here. The "please be my kissing/dating et cetera tutor" trope? Not so much.
So here we've got fresh-from-Sydney New York transplant Chloe and rich club owner Theo reuniting unexpectedly on Chloe's thirtieth birthday. Theo was a former friend she'd lost touch with when his family moved to the States more than a decade earlier. I found that part a little confusing because of Theo and Chloe's brother were still best friends, it seems she would have known more about grown-up Theo and vice versa. Anyway, after he refuses to take her v-card, she somehow convinces him to help her find a husband and baby daddy. And that's where the annoying stuff comes in. She's so laser focused on finding a mate and procreating (for a reason that's somewhat understandable) that she starts to sound ridiculous and maybe just a little bit crazy.
Other than that, the two are cute together. Theo has more layers than Chloe, and his reasons for shying away from Chloe are legit. Even so, I kinda wanted to smack them both and say, "Just TALK already." It's a relief that they finally do, and and epilogue wraps things up nicely.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
3.5 stars I really like Theo and Chloe; them interesting and engaging characters. There were many time during the story when I truly enjoyed their romance and their time together on page. I loved getting to see the other Doyle siblings as we had experienced their romances in the previous books in the series. Many of the side characters were interesting and added to the fabric of the stary – particularly Theo’s brother.
While I understand how important Chloe’s single mindedness was to the story, at times it was too much (to often an issues in everything she did). I didn’t understand the point of Theos’ ex showing up at his office and his reaction to it (felt like he should have reacted differently/stronger). I wish that we had found out what Aiden and Mya had had, as in the epilogue of their story she was pregnant; and unless I missed it, there was no mention of their baby in this story, just Mya’s son. While I liked the epilogue, I wish it had answered some of the story threads that were left dangling.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and the series. I’d recommend reading in order, as the brother’s wives are mentioned in this story and to understand some references or better enjoy them, the other books should be read first.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this story. It filled with laughter, good relationships, protective brothers and abit of heart break but in the end they had a good HEA.
Chloe is so smart, funny, sensitive, abit sassy and she deserves everything a man can offer and after so many broken moments with her crush and strangers she finally get her dream. Theo is everything grumpy, bossy and abit over the edge because he wanted Chloe but too scared to tell her about his situation and reject and break her heart but in the end he couldn't hold back his feelings after everyone had advice him to go after her since she is the one for him and he knows it deep down. They are the best couple when they are together and I'm happy for them. Chloes over protective brothers are the best. Their bond is so connecting and looking out for their sister was everything even tho she got annoyed with them lol if it was me I'd be the same. Love this...a must read🤍 . . . . Matchmaker is the third novel I’ve read by Sonia Stanizzo and it doesn’t disappoint. When I first started reading Matchmaker I was a little concerned, given it’s a brother’s best friend romance, that the conflict wouldn’t be strong enough. That Theo and Chloe could never be together because of the bro code—Theo being the best friend of her elder brother, Chloe was off limits. But, it’s not the usual ‘falling for her brother’s best friend’ trope. I was also wondering how the author would justify the reason Chloe was a virgin at thirty, but I was pleasantly surprised. As with the author’s previous novels, this is an enjoyable story and the conflict is more layered and woven better than I anticipated. And, it’s likewise, a well written, steamy romance with a good pace and likeable main characters who are supported and encouraged by a collection of fun secondary characters. It’s well worth reading.
This is the story of two people who are, unknowingly, perfect for one another. Chloe is newly turned 30 and looking for a family man who will give her babies and the perfect life. And then she bumps into Theo, her childhood crush who can’t give her anything she wants, but will give her everything she needs. Although Chloe is maddeningly naive at times and Theo makes decisions that made me want to reach through the pages and strangle him, their desire for one another kept me up reading all night.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I have read every book that Sonia has written to date and loved them all. Without spoiling any of the plot I really liked that there were so many different types of 'family' in this book. We'd seen Chloe in the previous books in the series and this book really developed her character and you saw the relationships with her brothers through her eyes. I can't wait to read another book by this author as they are so well written and entertaining.
A very cool premise for a romantic, friends-to-lovers, forbidden love story. Theo and Chloe are dynamic and passionate characters, but together, their intense connection and steamy togetherness, is unparalleled. Total page turner. Be prepared to not put it down until you reach the very last page. Exceptional writing!

This is a well written book with strong, likable characters and an entertaining storyline. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with all of the mystery and secrets as well as the chemistry. She kept me glued to the pages wanting to see what happens. The story moves fluidly and is a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
She’s a 30 year old virgin with an everlasting crush on her brothers best friend, who likes her but refuses to take it any farther so she convinces him to fake date her so she wouldn’t be too nervous on a real date. It’s a solid book, a little chemistry, a little mystery, and a little silly.
A well written cute and funny plot line and the characters were intresting to read. The story was pretty interesting and fun to read .Loved the characters and the romance the love drama between them. I received a free arc and leaving an honest review.
Chloe is a 30 year old virgin that has jad a crush on her brothers best friend Theo. Theo wants her but with his own secrets he refuses to take it farther. She convinces him to fake date her so she isn't nervous on a real date. This book has chemistry, mystery, and explosive outcomes.
I absolutely loved the dynamics of glowy (Chloe) and Theo. Their first re- meeting was epic!! I could only ever imagine what it’s like to have older brothers who would be sooo protective over their younger sister but the way Sonia has described their relationships made me feel like I was Chloe having to deal with them while being in love with your brothers best friend.. despite being almost coddled all her life, Chloe is a strong independent woman and can push back on any man in order to stand up for herself and I absolutely love that in a romance novel. This is a 5 star novel and I will be reading the rest of Sonia’s books!! 🥰
A great end to the series I wish they had more brothers and sisters !!!! Chloe knew what she wanted in life she just had to find that someone what she didn’t know was that someone had always been in her life but it’s going to be a long complicated road.
