Hidden Library: The Second Spell Book

Rate this book
Emi's cousin, Veda, didn't expect Salinger to fall for her so completely that he was willing to dive into an adventure with needles, crystal balls, spell books, magic circles, and the delicate curtain that separates this world from the next. Surely, she's too much trouble.

This story is a coming of age with a twist. A world of magical spell books and witches meets your young adults' tale of love. It's not your typical love story but an intriguing tale of a girl who thinks she doesn't want love and a young man determined enough to thaw her heart of ice. It is a very reverting and enthralling read and takes you on a very different type of romance. The characters in this story are very different and yet are typical teenagers. This book is for those who want to read something different with intriguing characters that draw you into their lives. I truly enjoyed reading this. This is an author wh0 knows how to weave an unusual story!

This story is quite complex and the world building is fabulous. It is like nothing I have read before. It is a mix of which craft, family love and devotion, romance, and book writing. The characters are quite dynamic and interesting since they are witches with different skills. Antony is a really messed up jealous male cousin who fixates on one of his cousins despite the fact that she finds him despicable and wants nothing to do with him. The plot and sub-plots twist around each other creating a rather complicated by very intriguing romantic story full of spells.

Hidden Library, for me, was like Winx meets Harry Potter meets Fallen. The characters were well developed and the story had a good jist to it. Though it was a stand alone book in a series (that I have not read), I did find myself a bit lost in certain aspects. Personally, aside from Harry Potter, I do not normally find myself seeking this type of genre.
Hidden Library was well written and the characters were believable in so much as the genre allows. I did enjoy reading it and found it to be light hearted, well thought out and a nice story of young magical adult love/drama.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was full of adventure and drama. The characters were so fun and interesting to read about. The plot kept me on my toes and I was wrong with my original thoughts about what was going on. I was completely shocked at what did happen! This book was excellent and I highly recommend it! Overall I loved the story!
Amazing writing and a wonderful book to read. Enjoy the book, I know I did!

I really appreciated the meta nature of the book, not as much meta about writing, as many are, but about reading. Good books draw you in and never really leave you. So nicely done. Great plot twists, too. I like the switching back and forth between narrators, too. It had a little bit of profanity, not much at all, and I generally don't like profanity, not just morals generally but because profanity is so derogatory towards women--very anti-feminist. Otherwise, good book!
