The great thing about this pattern book is that it allows you to use any yarn you want. For each sock style that is in the book it gives you all you need to be able to knit it with whatever yarn you have on hand. All of the patterns are written to be knit cuff down on dpns, but are easily converted to magic loop or 2 circular needles. I think this book is especially good if you can't afford the expensive sock yarns that are out there, but would prefer to work from your stash.
