Most Valuable Playboy is a standalone novel by my queen of the male POV. Lauren fucking Blakely. The book is set in San Francisco and in one of my favorite towns, Sausalito. Its beautiful just like the city but with a small town feel. Perfect setting for these two.
Cooper needs a Hail Mary. Violet gives him one. Herself as his fake girlfriend. Only, their first kiss doesn't feel fake at all. It feels like a kick off to a life-changing game. He knows he shouldn't be thinking about her in that way. She is his best friend's little sister. The girl he has known for twenty years. But, something ignited within him with that kiss. It wasn't just her lips but the way she looked at him. The way she held him. The way she didn't pull away first. But, was she just a good friend that was returning a favor or did she feel the same thing in that kiss? Want. Desire. More.
Turns out being in a fake relationship isn't that hard when it's with someone you adore. Cooper loved the way she made him laugh with her cheesy jokes. He also loved the way she didn't take his shit. He loved her support and the way she styled his hair. And of course he thoroughly enjoyed her moans of ecstasy. And Violet loved giving them to him. He made her feel adored. But, she didn't to get hurt and a man like Cooper could do exactly that. He was married to football. She got it. Did he have room in his heart for her?
I am just going to say it. I am not a big fan of football but I am a fan of Cooper Armstrong and his passion for the game. I would be his hometown girl any day of the week. Except Sundays. Then I would be his cheerleader. But for real, I am also a Violet fan. I want to hang out with her at her salon. It would also be fun to make up cheesy jokes to tell. So with them together, fake or for real, it's a victory dance. I loved them! So funny, sexy, sweet, and dirty. I mean...damn, Lauren. Purple is my favorite color but now...I will be thinking of it all day.
Overall...I adored it. I giggled. I cried. I felt the passion. I didn't want it to end.

If you read Most Valuable Playboy then you should remember the flirty receiver of the Renegades, Jones Beckett and his favorite team publicist, Jillian Moore. Well, this is their forbidden romance...
Jones needs to clean up his reputation. Jillian needs a man to pose with puppies for a charity calendar. The camera happens to love Jones and he happens to love puppies and kittens. This is exactly what he needs to show the world who he really is. A man with not only big hands but a man with a even bigger heart. He also happens to have other parts to him but those are the parts that Jillian has been trying to avoid. Her motto isn’t “don’t look down” because she hates feet. She is all professional with the flirty, sexy as sin man but out of the office...that’s a different story. She has been crushing on him for years. And when that crush becomes a reality one night in Miami, she wants more. More of him. All of him. But, they can’t go there. Not only is his rep on the line but so is hers.
They have to keep this professional. He needs these deals to keep him on track and to help his family. She helped him land the deals and needs to stay on task. Wow! Lauren has done it again! She has given us another Blakely Man that made me swoon, cry, and tingle. Jones loves animals, cherries, and hot showers. I mean...hot showers. He has the perfect blend of cockiness, humor, sweetness, filthiness, and heart to make my heart feel full. Jillian is one lucky girl, but Jones is also one lucky man for having her. She is beautiful inside and out, passionate, and giving. Together, they are one amazing couple that I was happy to watch from the sidelines. The heat. The heart. The laughs. The forbidden. I loved it all.
Overall...if you love a forbidden romance with swoon, animals, and luck then you have to read this book! It’s a fast read that will make you want to go out an adopt a new pet. It will also make you want to make a cherry pie. And it will also make you want to take a cold shower if you don’t have the option of some playtime with your man, woman, or BOB.

Most Valuable Playboy…
I learned a long time ago that Lauren Blakely can write any hero. Any romance story. Any subject matter. And every time I read one of her books, I say 'wow, she can write anything.' And she's giving us another football romance to add to her list of goodness. Most Valuable Playboy is Lauren's newest gem. It's a new story, a new set of characters and a fun plot! I'm in love with Lauren's series' and I long to discover how she always puts in little connections throughout all her books. But, I also loved reading these new, fresh, exciting characters. I loved learning things about people we haven't met yet. People I loved from the first page and already want more of. As always, we are entertained with her outstanding writing, humor, sexiness, sarcasm, friendship and just all around fun! I only stopped smiling to fan myself. Cooper is the sexy starting quarterback and Violet owns a salon. They have been friends since they were kids. Violet is Cooper's best friend's sister. There has always been a connection, a mutual caring and respect. They've always laughed together and been there for each other in good and bad. I love a good friends to lovers story and this one is fantastic. There's a sizzling between them from the very start. It's just under the surface ready to overflow as soon as they touch. When a sweet Hail Mary pass by Violet saves Cooper, she just holds on for the ride when he kisses her. Cooper didn't expect the sparks when their lips touched. This is Violet. His friend. His best friend's sister. Sure, she's gorgeous and funny and talented. But she's Violet. Yes, she's Violet. When the kiss turns into a declaration that she's his girlfriend, it turns into the greatest opportunity. A well placed pump fake can make all the difference in the game. And this is a game, right? I love a great forbidden romance and add in some football and it's a winning combo. Lauren knows how to write sexy, fun, sweet and alpha men. Every time I meet a new Blakely hero I can't believe I love him as much, if not more than the one before him! I loved Cooper, I did. But Jones just does it for me. He's perfection. He's the perfect mix of sweet and sour, soft and hard, fast and slow, dirty and loving. I couldn’t get enough of his mouth or his hands. He's has a thing for the team publicist, Jillian, for a while, but he can't risk mixing business and pleasure when he's trying to clean up his playa reputation. But, that doesn’t stop him from flirting with her. A lot. Jillian isn't going to fall for Jones's charms even though she's been crushing on him for a long time. The flirty banter, sexy looks and funny one liners are all in fun. Right? Maybe not… Jillian needs one of her players to help with a charity calendar and Jones is just the mane for the job. He's sexy, funny, an animal lover and the camera loves him. Jones isn't losing out in this deal though. He's getting Jillian and all her PR glory to help him mend his bad boy ways. He's not really the player the world thinks he is. After spending time alone together, Jillian sees the real Jones. Not just of Lauren's. Lord have mercy with this man. He can catch a football, bake a pie, kiss like a god and…sing! Be still my heart. Kate is a bada** yoga babe and I love her just as much. There was just something about this couple that got to me! Their instant attraction and sexy banter and the way they never forgot each other even though they moved on with their lives. This is an epic second chance love story that left me smiling and completely satisfied!

Before book one, we get to listen to the prequel novella about the budding friends-to-lovers romance, between Cooper and Violet, called Most Irresistible Guy, which was a real treat!
It leads into Most Valuable Playboy, and I absolutely adored everything about their story! It is heartwarming, fun & flirty, sweet and very hot & sexy! Cooper and Violet have been close friends since they were kids, always having each others backs. Now as adults, things haven't changed when Violet comes to Coopers rescue during the charity bachelor auction held by Coopers team. She bids an obscene amount to save Cooper from someone Cooper absolutely did not want to be alone with. When put on the spot, Cooper and Violet pretend to be having a relationship. Everyone is so excited for a love story between the sexy new Quarterback and the hometown girl, that they are forced to go along with it. As Cooper and Violet try to come up with answers to questions about their relationship, their answers just may have a shred of truth. Cooper realizes he is so attracted to his sexy friend, and their chemistry is off the charts. But does she feel the same or is she just paying him back for saving her years earlier? They knew so much about each other, and had such history, that they "can't see the forest for the trees".
I loved Cooper and Violet, they were so in sync, and perfect for each other. Ms. Blakely expertly weaved a beautiful and intoxicating love story with genuine characters, witty banter and explosive chemistry. This book captured my heart and made me feel happy and totally satisfied.
This entertaining story is brought to life beautifully by Zachary Webber, and Andi Arndt. I love both their voices, along with their flawless comedic timing and dynamic voice changes as they delivered the clever banter. They made me laugh, swoon and cheer for Cooper and Violet's HEA.
This was a great start to this group of friends and I can't wait to read Jones' and Jillians' story in 'Most Likely To Score' next!

I loved listening to Most Likely to Flirt first. It is the sexy prequel novella about Jones and Jillian's budding forbidden romance, leading into Most Likely to Score.
I loved this charming, steamy, forbidden romance! Jones and Jillian have worked together for the same football organization for years. They have also been attracted to each other all that time. Neither has acted on that attraction, always being totally professional, well at least Jillian was. Sexy wide receiver Jones was always outrageous, trying to get Jillian to go out with him. But now Jones needs to clean up his reputation. He and publicist wiz, Jillian, work closely on a project to help with that. They soon are unable to deny their fiery attraction. But when they have to keep it a secret, it takes a toll on them both. Jones and Jillian are both wonderful characters that are caring, thoughtful and fun. I loved them both along with their loving, and supportive family and friends. Ms. Blakely creates mature, witty characters who are socially conscious, work hard, and play even harder. Their world is a place I love to visit and feel apart of.
Zachary Webber, and Victoria Mei did a great job narrating this delightful story and bringing it to life. I loved their humor, and their easy ability to make this heartwarming, fun and sexy romance one that you will want to listen to again and again!

It was so much fun listening to A Wild Card Night first. It is the prequel novella about the night Harlan and Katie met. It was quick and steamy and only made me want more of them!

It leads into Most Valuable Playboy, and I absolutely adored everything about their story! It is heartwarming, fun & flirty, sweet and very hot & sexy! Cooper and Violet have been close friends since they were kids, always having each others backs. Now as adults, things haven't changed when Violet comes to Coopers rescue during the charity bachelor auction held by Coopers team. She bids an obscene amount to save Cooper from someone Cooper absolutely did not want to be alone with. When put on the spot, Cooper and Violet pretend to be having a relationship. Everyone is so excited for a love story between the sexy new Quarterback and the hometown girl, that they are forced to go along with it. As Cooper and Violet try to come up with answers to questions about their relationship, their answers just may have a shred of truth. Cooper realizes he is so attracted to his sexy friend, and their chemistry is off the charts. But does she feel the same or is she just paying him back for saving her years earlier? They knew so much about each other, and had such history, that they "can't see the forest for the trees".

Lauren Blakely never disappoints me. This series is no different. I loved each book in their own ways, and I love that they could all be read as standalones, but I also enjoy the crossover of the characters in each on.
We also get prequels in between and I love that as well.
Sports themed men, with strong women (and even some pet parenting in book 2) and I was hooked from the beginning. HEA with decent amount of steaminess. Perfect.

It was OK. Each story was fairly sweet and I liked each book slightly better than the last.
But none was truly memorable and they felt a little undercooked. By the time I finished book 3, I'd forgotten the storyline of book 1 altogether. I wish there was more character development and each book was longer.

Great Reads
I loved all three of these books, and the prequels. They were funny, sweet, no unnecessary angst, and seriously swoony steamy scenes. The characters were all beautiful people and the chemistry of these couples was fantastic. Perfect cosy romance reads.

I listened to this series on audiobook. Each story is equally charming, seductively sensual and absolutely entertaining. I enjoyed listening to the narrators bring these stories to life. Great series!
