The blanket of snow covers the state of Colorado as Hudson Owens stands in front of his mother’s fresh grave. It is supposed to be a simple affair after which Hudson would travel back to his home town and carry on with his life.
As Hudson rides through a snow storm and into the town of Ashcroft, he notices a commotion at the sheriff’s office. It turns out that a stagecoach has just been robbed by a gang led by Johnny Daggers, a notorious outlaw of the state. One of the victims involved is a woman called Dolly Miller who had cared for Hudson’s mother before her recent death.
Knowing that Dolly is now the single most important woman in his life, Hudson goes after the outlaws to save her. But with the fears of a lethal blizzard on its way and talk of people going missing outside of towns, the chance of bringing Dolly back alive fades by the day.
Each novel in the Western Frontier Justice War series is a standalone story that can be read out of order.
This compassionately motivated series of ongoing excitement will appease anyone's expectations!
This fast moving series of entertainment is definitely another five stars masterpiece by one of my most favorite Authors, and the ongoing excitement will keep your mind on the topic at hand cover to cover! Too, the outstanding storylines are very entertaining to follow and the excitement never abates from beginning to end! The Author's character selections are unsurpassed in their commanding assignments from beginning to end! Definitely recommend this inspiring compilation of inspiring compilation of entertainment to everyone, but you non-western believers will find yourselves duly entertained from the very beginning until the final word has been absorbed!!!
The only reason I'm giving this book 3 stars, is because the story is decent. This book was, apparently, never edited. The incidents make no sense. Such as, the guy is on his last bullet but doesn't stop to pick up a gun from the dead men laying right by him. Nothing lines up for survival. Cattle have frozen but humans are outdoors for hours, with no coats and don't even suffer frost bite. This is the second book I've read by this author. What is wrong with him? How does he even find a publisher? I will read no more.
I had a hard time reading this book, I think it was the way it was printed with gaps between each paragraph. It had a good storyline but several big mistakes. Number one was calling a pinto horse a American Paint, back in those days there was no such thing. #2 if their horses had been left out in that storm with no feed or a chance of moving around to get warm or in shelter they would have been as dead as the cattle.
This author had good characters that you are rooting for till the end. I would recommend for anyone that likes CJs books. Not as much detail but that's ok sometimes. I will definitely keep reading him. (Female 73 and only started reading Western with CJ) I
think its worth five stars for the entertainment of reading a well written book.
There is a great deal of excellent story and character development in this novel yet also a great many poor word choices and a lot of bad grammar. A good editor would aid greatly.
