Picking up where Body Count left off, the next thriller in the Jamie Austen and Alex Halee spy series is a page turning bullet train of action.

"Powerful Enemies" is about how greed leads one to self destruction. The new CIA leader becomes envious of Jamie and Alex's material possessions. Never mind the fact that they worked hard for everything, and use their assets to ensure the girls they rescue are given a new beginning. From putting a target on AJAX's members, spreading lies, creating horrible situations that could cause the deaths or long imprisonment situations for Jamie and Alex, this story keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to the last page. A good read.
This is book 8 in a fast-paced series of books that are so hard to put down.
In this one, Jamie & Alex are in danger from the Director of the CIA, Neal Fuller, an evil and selfish man. Their homes and belongings are seized, and then Fuller puts his CIA operatives to work trying to find and get rid of Jamie & Alex.
This is an interesting international thriller that will have you pulling for the good guys. The characters are amazing, with strong moral standards that can't be compromised. Great series as you will want to hear more about them and their adventures.
Its so nice to read an action story with out profane language and sex! Wonderful characters and plot! Scary to think out government has politicians who are power hungry!
this is a series. in KU if you have that service. but as you see yet again i am finding that i am finding FREE to me books that are in KU ...is this a pattern that i am only recognizing now?? fishy, no?? i think so. any who the one i read had a lady in her red dress (back to you) on the book cover. in front of a door, running toward said door. there are 12 books in this series. "The Jaime Austen Thrillers" series. came out in March 8, 2022.political thrillers & suspense. women's adventure fiction. political thrillers. i think i am new to Terry's book. i see lots of hot ladies on the covers. i personally not a fan of either the hot men or ladies on the front ...a perfectly great scene from the book or whatever is more my style. i think when you already are sharing a lady it kind of pigeon-holing someone into what the author is thinking ...i would think you would what your readers to figure out their own thoughts and opinions by what you are writing/they are reading. but whatever. u know!???!? just my 2 cents. lol!! love giving my humble opinions. like or not. get to reading already. what are you waiting on??! go on.
While I did enjoy this book, part of it made me tense as everything good was falling apart for Jamie and Alex. I did not like the main antagonist at all. While I do think the book is a necessary part of the series, this one was not my favorite. I still think it deserves a really good rating, but it was not my favorite one. Maybe that is simply because so much of it filled me with despair for these characters I have come to enjoy. 4.3 stars.
The author did a great job of keeping filthy language and graphic sex out of the story. He does an excellent job in developing the characters and the book was easy to follow and the story flows so quickly that I had a hard time putting it down. It's an interesting story and I would be surprised if a sequel is written because I am sure that many people enjoyed the action and adventure. I highly recommend this book.
This is the first book by this author I've read. I enjoyed it very much as a mystery is my favorite genre. There is lots of action, a supposed good guy that hates Jamie & Alex, & other things that kept me reading to the end. It is sorta a book unto itself but the end leaves me wanting to read more so I don't call it a stand-alone book.
I have to say that I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the previous seven. I was very disappointed that Alex and Jamie lost their company and their means to help others. I hope that the next books put them back on their feet and that they regain their purpose and mojo.
This was a good book but not my favorite. I liked the ending though. I still would recommend a reading it. It just took me longer to get into it. I think because of all the politics and the people who could get away with so much because of their position in power. But in the end, the good guys win.
I just love the way, Teri Toler, is it six characters in the arch enemies to be taken down. This time, the new head of the SCIA has they do get help from unexpected sources after the betrayal team members. Can’t wait for the next series targeted Alex and Jamie to be taken out by any means necessary. I can’t wait for the next in these series.
Jamie & Alex were the founders of AJAX which was sort of a CIA sub company they set up to help fund their missions. Neal Fuller was the Director of the CIA and they worked for Brad. Fuller promoted Brad out of the picture and then put the screws to them both. In the tail Jamie won over too many people to allow them to sink.
It's so refreshing to read such a fast faction pageturner and find no cuss words or, especially taking The Lord's name in vain like so many books and movies do today! Great action plots!
Practically every thing that could go wrong does! Politics is a dirty business in this book and this one keeps you hooked from the start. Great writing!
