I should have asked for his number… or at least his full name. But it was supposed to be an adventure.
An adventure that turned into a nightmare!
That bachelorette trip was never supposed to lead to pregnancy. I didn’t know how to contact the father, but I still chose to raise the baby by myself. Little did I know that I would meet my baby daddy years later. In the most unexpected way…
Well, he looks different, alright. Still as hot as I remembered him to be. The only thing that’s changed? He’s no longer an irresistible stranger… he’s now my boss. And he doesn’t know my secret. Will I lose my job, and my sanity once he finds out?
A shorter insta-lust and insta-love contemporary romance where a one night stand & accidental pregnancy turns into falling for the boss and ends on a HEA at Christmas. The heroine, Alicia, is a curvy girl executive assistant. The hero, 40-year-old Christopher Hayes, is the head of his deceased father's company when his mother isn't interfering.
Overall the plot and characters were too superficial & unreal for me to buy into any part of this book. The plot felt like someone heard the tropes of 'one night stand turns into love', 'accidental pregnancy', 'falling for the boss', and 'age gap' were popular and thought that a book with all of them at once would be popular too. A sort of paint by numbers romance that wasn't filled in very well. The characters didn't seem real at all (e.g. the virgin randomly agreeing to a 1 night stand after exchanging about 5 words with the guy, or them both falling in love from a 1 night stand). While I usually don't critique the steamy bits (to each their own), I will say that they weren't memorable and definitely were not enough to save this sinking ship of a read.
*****Spoiler Alert***** This Book Includes Violence. None Sex. MF sex, virgin heroine, 2 accidental pregnancies
Me gustó mucho, aunque debo admitir que la protagonista me desesperó un poco. 😒 Me hubiera gustado ver más interacción entre padre e hijo. El niño queda en un tercer plano. 💔
I'm rounding this one up from the like 1.5 star I could barely give it. When am I going to stop reading secret baby books expecting them not to suck. This book was just silly, number one she names her one night stand baby CeeJay after his father that gave the name CJ to her. I'm not sure we ever learned his middle name but his name is Christopher. It's fine that she's not sure about telling him about the kid, but to hide it from her employer, don't you want to cover him on your health care?? I'm not entirely sure what happened at the end, did he leave his company? Are they both unemployed? With two kids? These two are idiots. They had a condom break and didn't really worry about it, it was a legit afterthought 4 years later. And then there was a lot of issue with missing or wrong words, basic grammar things. And if I can spot them they are probably bad.
This was better than I was expecting. We follow the journey of Christopher and Alicia, from the first encounter all the way until the present. There’s a lot of flash forwards but it helps move the story on and it flowed. We start with big gaps in time then slowly make our way to smaller gaps and then finally present time. It shows us how coping after an amazing night can mess with your emotions and the hope that maybe you will meet again in the future. Also, it tells you that you shouldn’t ignore the butterflies and the way a person makes you feel with just one moment. I gave this a 4 considering I really enjoyed this story. However, what leans me that way is how there were moments throughout the book that weren’t that exciting and times when I did get a little confused with what was going on, but that could have been due to fatigue on my end. The story as a whole was very enjoyable, though the Christmas theme wasn’t as prominent as I thought it would be originally. I loved Christopher and Alicia. Christopher was the kind of guy that knew what he wanted and what to go after and how to do it. We see this in his position as CEO and in the way he was around Alicia. We also see him not putting on a facade at work that keeps him guarded and cold. More often than not this is significant in these type of stories and when this one didn’t do it, it was refreshing. I loved reading how he was always himself no matter what and allowed himself to be in charge but also have an air of casualty about it. The parts of this book I really found myself enjoying was moments him and Alicia were together and the cliche the author included about what “dating the boss” might entail. This ended up getting played out like a fantasy that is conveyed in some minds and in some adult movies. I laughed out loud as I was reading this because it was so perfect. I loved how Alicia was so on board with it, it took a month but she finally allowed herself to be happy and get treated well without a big fight or hard pass at anything. She also wanted something and went for it as her confidence was great to read about. Overall, really good book with slight annoyances enough to warrant a 4.
This is part of the Alpha Billionaire series each book can be read as a standalone two people that fate has given a second chance. I have read a few books by this author but this one was a hit or miss only because it is part of the Alpha Billionaire series, but I wish there was a little more alpha not mama’s boy which is what I feel like we were given. These two met a few years back one night and both went their separate ways fast forward to today Christopher sexy as all get out billionaire with a mother who well is a little hard to live with or be around most days, extremely controlling and a little grumpy on a daily basis throws more temper tantrums than a typical two-year-old on a good day. Alison intelligent one night left her with a gift realizing she accepted a job with the very man who father her child, worried about keeping that knowledge from him and food, roof over their heads but she isn’t any better that him because she isn’t as mature as a mother should be allowing everything to get under her skin. The attraction is still there years later, and the bull can’t be ignored but is it enough they do however, get their act together but not before his mother pushes him too far forcing him to grow up be a man of his own destiny but is it too late, will they see the second chance fate has given, and can they find happiness?.

Alicia has also been a loaner and wasn’t really part of the anything. She was always a little self conscious because she was super skinny. She was in Nashville for a bachelorette party. She didn’t drink as she didn’t like the feeling of having a hangover the following day. Christopher was the CEO of his family’s company but his mom is an overbearing head of the board telling him what to do when it came to his job. She gave him an ultimatum with clean up his act and start acting like a CEO or step down. He went to Nashville for one last night before cleaning up his act and doing what his mother wanted him to do. While Alicia was Nashville she went off by herself and started a conversation with a stranger. One thing lead to another and they went back to his hotel room and spent the night in bed. When she asked him his name he told her CJ. The next morning he had to leave. He asked her what her name was and she replied Alicia. Two months later she found out she was pregnant. She didn’t know how to get a hold of CJ. So she went and raised her son, CeeJay, on her on. Four years later Alicia needed a job and she applied to be an executive assistant Christopher was shocked when he saw Alicia walk into the interview. He knew it was from the moment he saw her. She has been living in his head since that night in Nashville. Alicia didn’t recognize him right away but finally realized who he was. Will she ever tell him he is the father? Will his mother try and intervene? Once again Ava did a wonderful job on this book. I really enjoying reading her books.
This is a great addition to the Alpha Billionaire series and I. This story we meet Christopher who is 40 years old CEO that does not take life seriously and Alicia a young woman enjoying her time in Nashville. Christopher is threatened by him mom that she take away his position and money if he doesn’t shape up in 24 hours so he goes to Nashville for 1 more night of being who he is. Along the way CJ (Christopher) ends up meeting Alicia and they spend an incredible night together but never share any personal details. Four years later Alicia has struggled to raise her son and then she loses her job to rumors and a horrible boss. When she happily gets a job working at Christophers company as his personal assistant she feels like she knows him. Christopher recognizes her right away during the interview process but with the clean up version Alicia does not recognize him as CJ. These two have an undeniable attraction and unsuccessfully keep a professional relationship and when misunderstandings occur Alicia quits and tries to start over but her heart will not allow it. Christopher also gives Alicia a hard time without knowing everything behind her actions. With a conversation some hurt feelings and sad hearts they are able to come together for all the right reasons. Great ending! This was an entertaining book. The characters have a steamy and anonymous one night stand together in Nashville. Four years later, she ends up hired to be his executive secretary.
My 3-star rating isn’t because I didn’t like the book, I enjoyed it and was entertained - it didn’t wow me or inspire me to want to read it again. It was an OK read in my opinion. Don’t let my 3-star rating discourage you from giving this book and author a fair chance.
I think The premise had lots of potential, but I struggled with the maturity level of both main characters.
I’m not a fan of characters who jump to conclusions and act like angsty teenagers when they are supposed to be adults. Christopher is supposedly 40 years old, but he often acts like a toddler having a tantrum.
Not sure how old Alicia is supposed to be, but the storyline mentions an age gap without indicating how much of an age difference there was. Alicia’s reaction to overheating a conversation between Christopher and his mom was ridiculous for a professional woman, let alone a single mom needing to support her child.
The ending seems extremely hurried and could have been expanded on for more of a happily ever after for the characters after all the prior angst!

A memorable one night stand leaves Alicia with an unexpected souvenir. With no contact information exchanged, she can’t contact the father and believes she won’t meet him again. Fate steps in four years later to reunite Alicia and the father of her son, who is now her boss. Ironically, he Christopher recognizes her right away and is a little taken aback that she doesn’t seem to remember him. He is never forgotten their night together, but since she doesn’t seem to remember him, he makes other assumptions and decides to let things go. His outgoing assistant hired Alicia anyway, believing she is the best candidate. Alicia does finally realize that Christopher is the man from that special night four years ago. In her defence, he looks nothing like he did then, but their chemistry, their attraction cannot be denied. How will he handle her secret? Both have unresolved issues with a parent, have trouble with trusting people and have a stubbornness that isn’t always conducive to bringing happiness. In other words, their story is hot, angsty and a tad messy.

Really cute Romantic story. I love how they first met in Vegas. There was such a connection they never truly forgot each other. Christopher was on the edge of making huge changes in his life. To straightening up, and running his father’s company instead of letting his mother run him. Alicia was just looking to support her friend by being a bridesmaid and helping send her off in style for her wedding. This was just a girls weekend where “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas “. Her one night stand was just supposed to be that. One night. Except she ended up pregnant. Fast forward four years later and Alicia needs a job after the company she works for folds amid a scandal. She ends up applying for an assistant job At Christopher’s company and comes face to face with her Vegas hook up and her sons father! I loved the way the story unfolded. The only thing that annoyed me most was how long it took Alicia to tell Christopher he was her son’s father. How ever the relationship went, he had a right to know he had a son and her son had a right to know about his father.
Typical one night stand. Alicia and Christopher have amazing sex for one night. She is ready to give up her virginity. They don't meet again for 4 years. Alicia has lost her job and is hired by Christophers company as his assistant. She soon realizes he is the CJ. The man she had the one-night stand with. He is the father of her 3 year old son.
The story was good, but I had a few problems with the way Christopher is portrayed. He is supposed to be a billionaire. What billionaire fly's business class, if they don't own their own airlines, they rent private planes. Also, he stays in a regular king size bedroom in the hotels. Billionaire at the minimum stay in suites if not the penthouse suite. Also, he doesn't have a driver and worried about paying for parking at the airport parking lot. Now that was really weird!! He didn't fit the profile of a Billionaire at all. It didn't even fit the profile of a millionaire.
This is what brought the story down for me. If you are going to write about billionaire, then I think you should give them the lifestyle of a billionaire or millionaire. Not an everyday working-class person!!
CJ was living his life one party until the next, he was just a figure head at the company his mother was still in charge. She give him an ultimatum, grow up and take charge of the company or lose his inheritance. One last party night, he is in Nashville, he meets her in a bar, they have a glorious night together but they do not exchange anything beyond first names.
Alicia finds out a few months later, the condom did not work and she is pregnant by the man she knows as CJ. Years later she is hired by a company, Hayes Imaging Solutions, assistant to CEO. He recognizes her the first time he sees as the girl he could not forget. It takes Alicia a bit to realize CJ and Christopher Hayes are the same man, her son's father.
The two eventually start seeing each other outside of work, as they get closer can this all come tumbling down when he finds out she is keeping a secret?.

Alicia goes to Nashville for her cousin's bachelorette weekend. Christopher is in Nashville for one last getaway before he chains himself to the family business. Alicia and Christopher run into each and hit it off. They end up sharing an amazing night together before going their separate ways. A few years later Alicia loses her job because of something her boss did and is having issues getting a job. A friend tells her about a CEO needing a new executive assistant and she goes for an interview. Its a shock when this reconnects her to Christopher. Will this a second chance for them? How will he react to their son?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This story follows Alicia and Christopher. She’s in Nashville for her cousins bachelorette weekend, and Christopher is in Nashville to enjoy his last day of partying. Christopher’s mother insisted he either stop his screwing round and act like the CEO she wants him to be or walk away from the family business and his inheritance. They meet by chance at a rooftop bar and sparks fly. They spend the night and only share first names. (I hate it when that is part of the story). Three years pass, Alicia is made the scapegoat at her company for her bosses illegal actions. She ends up looking for an executive assistant position Christopher is her boss and about to find out he’s a father.

CJ and Alicia meet in Nashville at a bar. They click and have a one night stand. They go as far as giving first names but nothing else. Months later Alicia get a surprise as the condom didn't work, she's pregnant and doesn't know how to tell CJ. Years later she's hired by Hayes Imaging Solutions as the CEO's assistant. What a surprise seeing CJ, the father to her son. What's going to happen when CJ finds out about their little surprise? I don't understand why he would get upset as there was no communications about keeping in touch. There is drama and lots of steam. Enjoyed the story, recommend.

This book has a good story line and the author did a fairly good job with character development, but the book fell just short of the mark for lack of development. The child who is a major aspect of the story seemed to be an after thought. There is very little interaction between mother and child until the end of the book. I want to see more of the parent child relationship. Same goes for the relationship between the H and his mother. Why is there so mistrust on her part. And when the H calls his mother’s bluff there is no resolution. I would have enjoyed this book so much more if it had been fully developed.
Like Alicia and Christopher ... Ceejay was very cute. Alicia was interviewing for an Administrator Assistant position, she wad unaware of who the boss was, Christopher thought he recognized Alicia from three years ago after meeting her. Who he could never forget, in the meantime Alicia had a son, his son and since she only knew his name as CJ, she wasn't able to locate him. Downer for me is his mother who is very controlling and want to run his life and the company they own. Would have loved for the ending to be different, with addressing his mother and putting her in her place. Overall a very good read.
I didn’t have a problem reading BABY SURPRISE from cover to cover. It is the type of story that always has the reader thinking “what is going to happen next?”
This is a fairly typical one night stand baby and the mom ends up working for the unsuspecting dad at some point. There were several parts of the story that could have been developed better, so I think there were some missed opportunities to add some meat to the story in areas that would have appealed to me more.
Christopher’s reaction upon finding out Alicia had a child felt odd. You’ll see what I mean. It is a decent story with issues in the writing structure.
I really liked this, his mom is "special" and I like how he caught himself being that special to Alicia. He just jumped to all the conclusions rather than ask a damn question or do some math.
But I did like how it was around Christmas time at the end and he saw how much love there was between her and their son. I really wanted an epilogue though, because it ended at such a transition. Shes pregnant for a second time, their kid is just getting to know him, and is he going to sue his mom for his inheritance or will he take his place back at the company? Will the introduce his mom to their kids? SO MANY OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS!!!!

I am a bit torn. I hate and like our MCs: the MMC is living under his mother's thumb but he did stood up for himself in the end. Our FMC is a good mother but she was practically seducing her boss in the office. She threw propriety out the window when she realized who he is. They did make things work in the end. That was my favorite part of the book, when they become a family.
I still wonder what happens now that he quit....

Where do I begin with this great story? Alicia is in a Bachelorette party and meets a mysterious man who gives her so much pleasure and more in one night but he isn't aware he takes her virginity and leaves her with something more .Years later Alicia gets a job but what's shocking about the job is its her one night stand that left her with a surprise. Will she finally confess to him what happened? This book was absolutely so good with so much more.

It all started with no names and a one-night affair--fast forward four years and they meet again. A great story that was an emotional up and down. While Christopher wasn't always the nicest person and played cruel games, it was revealed why he was like that and also why Alicia was like she was. A nice holiday read with the HEA they deserved.

The beginning of the story was great. She met him on the bachelorette weekend in Nashville with Vegas rules. They lost contact and then meet up years later when he becomes her boss. After reading the story I wondered if his mom who seem to control how he behaved would except the babies or even the relationship. She had a lot of guidance in what happened in the story but yet we were left with an unfinished storyline including her.

Awesome story, about two people who met, have a one night stand, never expected to see each other again. Years later, Christopher is building a company, and Alicia, needs a job. Yep non other than his company, let the fun begin. Only there are secrets yet to be revealed, fun, flirty, misunderstandings. Great story.❤️
