Not a bad early-reader book at all with a good lesson to be deceived by appearances (and also to listen to the full sentence instead of jumping to conclusions). The art is very good as well.
Okay, so I'm a huge Bionicle fan. (ORIGINAL Bionicle that is. Not reboot.) I grew up during the toy craze and later got into the books. Dude, I don't even know how to explain the story line. Greg Farshtey created worlds full of all kinds of crazy places, characters, powers, things, and events. I was and still am fascinated. The story space comics, movies, and kids' books.
That being said, it also spans young children's books. This is one of them. Although it is short and very simple, it is still enjoyable for me. It includes some of the strange and interesting elements of the regular story while providing a new bit of that same story, if you understand me.
Being a young children's book, it also has a bit of a moral to it. It may be somewhat cheesy to us adults, but it's good for kids.
Anyways, I have kids now so I get to read it some more to them. Oh, poor me... ;)
