The Last Mountain Man / Return of the Mountain Man

by William W. Johnstone

From his Missouri farm, the boy travels west. In his heart is vengeance. In his hand is a Navy Colt. Reviews

[Paxton Holley]

Omnibus containing the first two books in Johnstone's Smoke Jensen Mountain Man series.

Finished The Last Mountain Man on 03/28/2013. It's a really good pulpy western. Along the lines of the Josey Wales books. The main problem is that Johnstone makes Smoke *so* good that he's almost a super hero. And everyone keeps talking about how good he is. Over and over.

[Truitti]

Good western. Violence and sexual situations without gory moment by moment details.

This is a great western series. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it but I really did. Smoke Jensen and Preacher are the main characters. There is violence in these books but it fits the Wild West.

I have always loved reading westerns. These two books make me want to read the entire series!!!
