I really liked this. I bumped it down in star rating because i felt like this one was a little slow. There was not much progress on the relationship-front, and at times, I felt like they were having the same conversations over and over again. I also liked the FMC less in this book, although, I generally still like her.

Overall, it's a really good fantasy reverse harem. I wish more people knew about this one because it's actually really good and quite addicting.

Book two in the Shadowcraft Academy series was fantastic. Yve carried the intensity from the first book into Jinxed. This has been such a fun series to read. Jinxed is easily a one-sitting read and kept me up late to finish. It was great seeing Shayla again and the changing relationships with her men.

I love the mixed harem. Every man brings something unique into the relationship. You really cannot go wrong with a vampire who has aphrodisiac and healing saliva (not to mention his bite), an incubus who can sense what you need and has control over shadows to give you pleasure, and a druid who has not only loved you for years but soothes your soul. Plus, you have the growly wolf shifter, and even though he keeps refusing the bond, the possessive dragon shifter. If he can’t have you, no one can. Each one controls a different magical ability and will help Shayla manage her yet unknown powers. I know we shouldn’t pick a favorite in a why-choose story, but I think the vampire, Branden, might have overtaken the incubus, Landis’, spot as my favorite.

I really like the rejected mates portion of the story. Call me a masochist, but rejected mates is my favorite trope, and I love the anguish it causes the characters. The best part is how the other men in the harem view Rourke’s rejection of the bond. Their acceptance of their own bonds with Shayla makes the pain only greater because she can’t complete those bonds until the one with Rourke is either broken or completed itself—such delicious angst.

The heat level was definitely higher in this book. More than one of Shayla’s mates has domineering personalities, and Shayla is very receptive to their attention. There is an incredible scene with Branden while he heals her and drives her mad with desire. There is MM as well between the established couple.

I don’t know how I will handle the wait for the next book. Some serious choices must be made, choices that have the potential to lead to not a small amount of pain and may shatter some relationships.

DNF. Thought I could live with the poor writing and depth of plot/characters, but turns out I couldn’t. Like the idea, but definitely could use substantial editing, in my opinion.

Holy smokes on a cracker! This story/series is amazing. It just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I absolutely love Shayla and her beautiful personality. She is strong when needed and caring at other times. I absolutely love the guys, yes, even grumpy Rourke. They all add a different element to the group. The story is extremely well written and developed. I picked it up, started reading, and low and behold I couldn’t put it down. I just had to find out what was going to happen next. There is so much action, drama, suspense and a bit of mystery that keeps you completely engaged. You journey alongside these amazing characters as they try to figure out the mystery that is surrounding them. This definitely ends in a major cliffhanger that has me yelling “I need more now.” This is absolutely a must read and definitely doesn’t disappoint.

Like book 1 this book was hot and made you feel so many feelings. We got to delve deeper into the men's backstories and past traumas. We see Rourke finally coming around and accepting shayla and realizing his father isn't the man he thought he was. Theyre following leads on who's behind the supes disappearing and suspect its possibly members of the high council. I loved seeing all the vulnerability between shayla and her guys and how past traumas still need to be resolved within all of them. I connected with shayla so deeply and have never felt so seen within a character. Excited to see where this story goes.

I have not read any book by this author, until this, but even tho this is the middle of a series, I loved it! I'm so happy that being the 2nd book in trilogy, Shayla's relationship with her mates have grown better & closer! She has such a varied assortment of mates, with her own multiple powers, it's interesting.

I'll definitely read this whole series once the 3rd book is released, this will be so fun! This was hot, suspenseful & so gripping! I wasn't gonna complete this, bit I did. Now I can't wait!

I'm open to try out more books by Yve, it's exciting to find another great harem romance writer. Plus there's MM in the harem *Woohoo* ;)

Jinxed if the second book in the Shadowcraft Academy series. I can't wait for the third book and to see what comes next. Not only did it keep me my attention the whole time but it was spicier than the first and I love, love, love that!

Jinxed does start up right where the first one left off. This book does end in a cliffhanger which leaves you wanting more.

Mixed feelings

I like the plot but the angst and miscommunication are becoming tedious and feel kinda forced.

I like the guys and how the relationship are developing though after this book I still don’t know much about them it seems and that’s disappointing.

I’m really not a fan of Rourke and he’ll have a lot of groveling to do from now till the end.

I’ll probably read the last book but I’m not the most optimistic now. Let’s see how it goes.

I was new to Yve Vale, the first book I read by her was the first book in the Shadowcraft Academy. Hexed was a great read, I fell for the characters and loved the world. Since then I've been looking forward to the next book and Jinxed did not disappoint, it was fantastic.

Ugh! My heart goes out to Shayla. Not only is she dealing with the past trauma of an abusive parent but the current trauma of not only at one point someone who was her only friend but of constantly being attacked herself. The effects her mother has had on Shayla are obvious in this book, Shayla's self-worth and self-esteem was destroyed by her mother but she is slowly building herself up and taking down her protective walls. It's amazing that Shayla survived and hasn't let any of her horrible circumstances turn her into a monster. If anything because of it or despite it, Shayla has the biggest heart.

The guys in Shayla's life are a mess, all except for Arden, he's the rock. The big and sexy druid went from childhood friend to lover. He and Shay have formed strong bonds and he's become someone that Shayla trusts and can depend on. As for the others, Landis has some issues he needed to work through but he's hurting Shayla while dealing with it by pulling away. The hot wolf shifter, professor Hollis Quade has found his mate but keeps messing up because he does explain things well but does bring that alpha quality. Then there is jerk number one, Branden, and jerk number two, Rourke. To be fair Branden is coming around, he's being a whole lot nicer to Shayla, apparently, they have a similar past trauma that only they can understand and it has opened up a new path for them. Rourke on the other hand is still being a jerk, even Branden is getting fed up with him. Rourke is back to spouting off about Shayla being the bad guy, accusing her of nasty things. Rourke is making things difficult and that isn't including his shady family lurking in the shadows waiting. I just hope the guys get their crap together (although I don't know if Rourke can un-dig the hole he's dug) and that things move along quickly so that Shayla can form her mating coven.

Throughout the story, the guys had bits and pieces of their past revealed, especially Arden. The mystery surrounding his parents was revealed and it causes me more worry than anything else. The pieces are slowly coming together, Arden's parents' death, Rourke's father being the council leader (that equals a possible corrupt council), how Quade's past with Rourke's family comes into play, and lots of other little hints point at a big conspiracy. Speaking of conspiracy something is most definitely up with Shayla, all the powers/abilities she's showing and a connection to a powerful historical figure have me coming up with a couple of theories that I can't wait to see if I'm right about.

Jinxed was a torturous medium burn because of the complications Rourke's family is causing but I loved every minute of it. The story is awesome, mean girls and shady politicians, fae are being kidnapped, the relationships are a mess and family complications makes everything even trickier. The ending was full of excitement with a battle, plenty of steam, and a couple of unexpected surprises. It didn't end with too bad of a cliff but I'm already ready for more. Shayla is an unknown but extremely strong source of power, we know her evil mother but now the question I'm asking is exactly who is her father? This series is addictive, I'm already dying for the next book.

No disappointing follow up here! I'm always worried if the next books in a series will live up to my expectations and I'm always so glad when they exceed them!

Shayla is a mystery. From powerless mage to suddenly being someone others will seek to use or exploit. Arden her sweet druid is absolutely still a favorite in this one. He's incredibly supportive of Shayla. Landis our flirty incubus is suddenly pulling away. A secret that could potentially be bringing more danger to Shayla is weighing him down. Quade our temperamental professor is doing his best to keep her safe. His main focus is on educating her on how to safely wield her powers. Brandon our aloof vampire is he friend or foe? Does he care for Shayla or see her as a liability to his best friend? Rourke is blowing hot and cold. Wanting Shayla but also rejecting her while dealing with the pressure his father puts on him.

Told in alternating POVS we learn more about every single one of the guys. Their pain and losses, motivations and insecurities. Those 🌶scenes were absolutely some of my favorites along with some of Shayla's sayings.

I can't wait for the next book to release! So many questions left to be answered and give me all those 🌶 scenes!!!

I will tear them apart if they've hurt her. I will rend their limbs from their bodies. I will make them suffer. Because Sparkles is mine. And I will do anything for her.

I was really looking forward to this second book in the "Shadowcraft Academy" series, and it absolutely did not disappoint! With all the questions left at the end of book one I couldn't wait to get some answers; all these characters have a past that seems be catching up with them and I need to know it all! I love how the secrets are coming out, and how it is slowly bringing them closer together instead of driving them apart.

Shayla is an amazing fmc, and she deserves all the love she can get. Her powers are intriguing and I can't wait to finally find out who or what she is. Still so many questions left, and the way this story just keeps on building up makes me really excited for the big finale that's destined to come. I can't wait for book 3!

riveting!

Book two in this incredible series was emotionally driven, action packed, and even spicier!

We get to watch Shayla grow not only in her magical powers but also in overcoming the trauma of her childhood. While she still has a long way to go on both parts, her journey is incredibly motivating!

Learning more about the men in her life was equally heartbreaking and desire inducing! With each of their interesting backstories and the growth arcs each of the heroes undergoes during this part of their journey, it was so easy to fall even more in love with these wonderful men. I can’t wait to watch them grow and bond together further in the next book!

Jinxed the second book in this series. The story picks up right where book one ends. Of course everyone still has secrets and there seems to be so much betrayal and lies going on that you really understand why Shayla questions everyone and everything. She is still struggling to understand what's happening to her and you can feel it with every sad thought she has. I really thought we were heading in the right direction with all these stubborn men when we get hit with a cliffhanger that makes you question where book three will take us. I can't wait for that one to release!

I devoured this book, it was such a good read!

I appreciated that the first book didn’t leave us hanging with a crazy cliffhanger. Just enough good writing to keep us coming back for more.

The second book does not disappoint! The spice and heat level are cranking up as the story continues. Lots of issues get resolved in this book but I am still eager to see what happens in the next!

I'm so obsessed with this series. I just wished there was more groveling from Rourke, he went from being an asshole to being intimate with her which rubbed me off the wrong way. I almost wish he would be thrown out of the coven, it's 2024, we should be letting the trash take themselves out.

Landis, Arden and Branden are my favorite guys. Landis is the sweetest and he deserve all the best.

You might just be surprised and maybe a little edged!

I can’t wait to see how their story develops and ultimately ends! Highly recommend!

Review for books one and two.

4⭐ 2🌶️

I'm really liking this academy series! Plus, having a professor/teacher in the harem is always a good way to grab my attention lmao.

Shayla is not my favorite character though. I was hoping to like her by book two but she's incredibly self-centered. Her bff was missing and the only thing she personally tried to do was talk to the Dean.. when she couldn't she went about her days and hardly talked about her until the end of book one! She has absolutely no self-confidence and continuously talks down about herself, it was getting old that she constantly thought the worst of everyone, even Arden, who has been the most honest with her since the beginning. I think what bothers me most about her, is she's convinced she knows everything about the world she's been forced into. Like the whole thinking of Landis as the typical incubus, and even saying that out loud to him! Granted, this is the work of her mother, but I was hoping for her to have some sort of character growth in book two since there's only 3 books in the series. She needs more confidence and it's not like she hasn't had a boost thanks to the guys. I'm hoping now that bonds are forming, she kinda gets it together.

Rourke is one hundred percent unlikable. I didn't even like him when they first met lmao, he came off creepy and like he was hiding his true intentions and whattya know? He was in fact an asshat. Even during the scene in what I'm assuming is the start of his redemption, I wasn't a fan and with that ending and how she felt his heartbreak? Instant irritation lmao. She deserves better than a man who thinks she purposely targeted him for his family's money. So he better be upset about having to take his dad down or something and NOT about what happened beforehand. Dom Daddy Branden on the other hand? Swoop that man UP girlfriend. I loved how their relationship evolved! Hollis is chef's kiss, he's my favorite and I can't wait for their bonding. Arden, my sweet gentle giant. I love him and I love his love for her, I just hope she doesn't hurt him. Landis is my second favorite, although when he started to push her away, I was ready to snap his neck lmao. Thank god that got all straighten out.

Overall, both books were mostly about building up all the relationships. We had a couple moments of investigating where the missing students went and a few bully moments, but I think everything is going to explode in book 3 now that Rourke is... sorta part of the group? They can make plans to take down his father, who is clearly behind everything, and keep Shay away from the asylum.

Looking forward to book three!

Oh my, what a second book! This picked up where Hexed left off and we saw so much going on.

Rourke continues to reject the mating bond and they are both feeling the effects of the rejection. Him more than Shayla.

Landis pulls away after having to use his shadow without her consent to wake her from the coma. He fears that he is a monster and has opened her to the attack by another incubus. We find out later just why he doesn't let anyone touch him. Shayla is very good for him.

Arden is his usual self, the teddy bear of the group. He steals my heart when he takes Shayla to his special place in the woods. He is a gentle giant and cares for Shayla, he has since they were neighbors. We also learn what happened to his parents and his theory behind the council.

Brandon shows us a different side of him. He made me like him so much more than the first book. Oh man, the two spicy scenes between him and Shayla were so hot 🔥 🥵. We find out that he likes to be in control. We also find out more about his family situation.

Professor Quade he's chomping at the bit to mate with Shayla. He's reminding the others that they can't mate with her until he figures out how to break the mating bond between her and Rourke. He's also trying to train Shayla with her magic. We also learn how dominant he is when it comes to the spicy times. Especially when he and Arden have some alone time with Shayla while Landis watches.

So much happens in this book that you don't want to put it down. From discovering some of what magic Shayla is capable of, to the personal background of each of the men that are going to be in her coven. The mating bond between her and at least one of the other men. Finding the students who were missing and possibly who is behind it and a slight cliffy for the next book.

I'm looking forward to the next book and to just what Shayla's true powers are, more spicy times with all of her men and her completing the mating bonds with each of them.

We return to Shadowcraft Academy to continue Shayna's story that began in book one Hexed.

Magic and mayhem are afoot at the academy, as mysteries need solving, and nefarious characters step swiftly closer.

A love that could of been, continues to break her apart, with every action and harsh word spoken.

Will he see the error of his ways, or will she be stolen away to the asylum never to be seen again?

All the characters in Shayna's life are amazing! from the druid who grew up with her, to the incubis who denies her touch.

The professor who teaches more than he should is still my firm favorite though, as he more than made the temperature in this book rise!

That only leaves the dragon and his vampire sidekick, both of whom dance to a different tune.

Shayna is a beautiful soul, both inside and out and I'm not suprised that she shines bigger and brighter than anyone or anything else. I love her passion and strength, determination and wild words. Throw in some sass of hers and perfection is on the horizon.

If you loved Hexed, then this is a MUST read! It's everything a book should be, and so much more too!

Loved the ending

That ending tied up things nicely. There was a ton of angst in this book. Lots of second guessing their worth and thinking the other is just using them when in reality they had feelings for each other but was to scared to act on them. There’s multiple povs but it read mostly in third character. Sometimes, I needed to skip to the beginning of the chapter to find out whose pov I was reading. I enjoyed reading more about how Brandon was slowly falling for her and consequently Rourke was starting to realize what a butthole he’s been. I felt like the sorry itself was balanced between the good and the bad. I liked how the climax of the story ended up with the mates the mates she needed to get to know the most. The fmc jumping in to save them in times of need have opened their eyes to her true character. Their suspects have finally been brought to light among them and they all seem to agree which never happens. I can’t wait to see what’s next now that she finally got to claim some more guys without her dragon apeshi+. She deserves so much more, those girls better run. Bullies get what’s coming to them.

Wow what a book and whirlwind of feelings this was.

As Shay gets more familiar woth her powers and slowly gains control so does her love and need for the guys.

Rourke truelt stil a massive Ahole but seeing the wrongs hes doing and a course ajustment is in order?

Around half way i made a guess of who would mate first with Shay by either sane mind or while lost in the sexy time moment and i was so very pleased to see i was right, abviously im not saying who it was.. spoilers and all.

This book is beyond amazing and the character growth and the emotional journey each one goes through is amazing they all growing and learning.

I have this thought that keeps comming back while reading.. strenght in numbers when combing strenght/bond

Ive had this shite eating grin on my fave mostly throughout the book, felt giddy and giggled but ive also almost cried a few times.

While not everything is clean and easy thats what i love most about this series and i cannot wait to read the final book, i hope it comea out soon!
