我的腐女友。Part.2

Rate this book
It was two years ago that I met Y-ko.
She was my boss at the job I was working at the time.
I was a student, and I had no idea what I was doing.
After a time, we ended up becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
It turned out she was a "fujoshi."
Not only that, but a "hidden fujoshi," one who didn't show any inkling of the sort around other people...
But as a general rule, she never hides it around me.
In fact...
It seems more like she's intent on dragging me down that path with her.
...And I'll be honest.
It's slowly but surely seeping into me.

My feelings for this one aren't any different from the ones that I had for the first volume. I believe that you will enjoy this more if you have read the manga. Reading the story without that as a background might make both Pentabu and Y-ko seem unlikable. This volume is in no way different from the first, it's a ton of short blog posts with funny stories about this couple. The last one was really cute and had me smiling a lot.

This one was just as good as the first.

I still really enjoy the main characters, they’re really entertaining and cute together.

In this book, there’s a lot of the same type of things happening, with Y-ko pushing Sebas into everything anime/manga, which I still think is funny. Also, Y-ko went to meet Sebas’ parents, and Sebas proposed. Both of which were really adorable. And there were a couple of really sweet, actually romantic scenes that stuck out to me, one in which the phrase ‘I love you’ is used, and the other where he proposes.

I just find the characters really fun to watch/read. Y-ko is the type that kind of ignores, or tries to push away, romantic things, emotional things, and focuses a lot on her anime/manga. And Sebas doesn’t really mind, he loves her for it. It’s obvious that they love each other, in my opinion. And it’s just so sweet to see.

I think one of the reasons I have really warm feelings for this series, the novels in particular, is because it reminds me of my trip to Japan. I read the first one while I was there, and some things they do remind me of things I saw and did while there, and it just gives me warm feelings inside now.

For some reason, the writing took me a bit to get back into. It’s still very exaggerated, but I got used to it. It’s told in journal/blog style, and it’s really easy to get through. A very fast read, especially because it’s such a short book.

I simply enjoyed this series, and am a bit sad for it to be all over, but not crushed, although it might be one that I have to skim through every once in a while.

Sidenote: I love the covers. I didn’t think there was much of a difference between this one and the first until I really looked at it, and that just made me love it even more. The first one had the boys’ hand on top with white handcuffs, and this one has the girls’ on top with white handcuffs and the moving and color change of the text, but she also has a ring on her finger. It’s so simple and fitting, and I just find it adorable.

As stated in my Semi-review of vol.1 that I really enjoyed, volume 2 kept everything I liked about the 1st and added more Y-Ko!,more Sebas, more embarrassing moments ,and MORE EVERYTHING!!!
note: this review is for both volumes and may contain spoiler-ish material!

This story follows the daily life of Pentabu(aka. Sebas X), his slightly older GF Y-Ko(aka. Fu-taku Ninja Master) and all the anime/manga/eroge references one can fit in 450~ pages and going from
classic late 70's Gundam to current hits(for the time) like Full Metal Alchemist and The Fate series!

It's written as Blog posts(because they are) Indicating every part's time of occurrence and the theme of the event.

the conversations between the two are are funny, cute and usually one-sided(Y-ko being the Femme-Fatale) with her knowledge of the Otaku-dom or lack of knowledge of basic stuff.

As the novel progresses we notice the changes our main characters experience, from Sebas X's acceptance to Y-ko's Fu-habits to his Monologue Screams of "WHYs"and "DON'Ts" and Y-Ko's... well, she barely has any character development aside from doing cuter things and annoying Sebas and doing even cuter thing WHILE annoying Sebas!

Overall it was a nice and quick read and would recommend just for the lols it offers though older readers might find this as too short or unintelligent(which Y-ko wouldn't be able to pronounce even), It still left me with satisfaction, joy and sorrow all mixed up in Evangelion spoilers that I don't even understand wtf they meant!!!(I should really get around watching Eva... yeah I'm the 0.1%, I get it :/ )

The hilarity continues on the journey of Y-ko and Sebas, the fujoshi and the guy that loves her. The second and concluding book, it was definitely a fun read. Again, a bit different from the manga, but that is nice, as it gives a different perspective. Also, the seven part section of updates when Sebas takes Y-ko to visit his parents? Priceless! I was in stitches for the majority of that section, along with most of the book. A nice, light and happy read with hilarious happenings.

More shoujoey than the first one! Sometimes I disliked Y-ko because of her real-person shipping.
