With all my priests by my side and my memories and powers returned, I am stronger than I have ever been, but what if it isn't enough?

As the Great Ennead awakens and my priests are dragged into the underworld without me, there's no turning back now. War is waiting for us down below where Apophis plots to rise to the surface and flood the earth with the primordial waters we came from. Gods awaken, demons roam and the prophecy I was created to fulfil beckons.

The gods tell me I must fulfil the prophecy and once again become the Eye of Ra, the bloodthirdty goddess Sekhmet. But I know what happened last tie, and even if I am strong enough to defeat Apophis, am I strong enough to return to who I am? Or will the bloodlust consume me forever?

Elizabeth Blackthorne wraps up the Pride of the Midnight Sun series with the final book, Her Dark Prophecy. This book was everything and more, I was so excited for it and Elizabeth didn't disappoint.

Tory finally has all her memories back, including those of her goddess days. I thought it would change everything but turns out she's still Tory. Impulsive and caring with doubts and troubles like she always did. She's just more capable now and maybe a little more resilient. I like that Tory is still herself, I liked the original Tory. Sure she has to face off with a few issues involving self-confidence and more, heck the weight of the world is on her shoulders but she doesn't give in and by the end, Tory was pretty badass.

There are very few guys who are as devoted as Tory's harem. They have been together through it all for thousands of years and their love only grows. Each one of them loves her and it's been shown in every book, each is more than willing to give their all. Even West has gotten over his issues and is now blissed out and in a more stable relationship with Tory. Ptah (Bastet's husband) was more involved in this book which I enjoyed because he was occasionally mentioned and now I have a better understanding of who he is and what he was to the goddess.

Oh, we're in it now. Tory and West have been reunited with the rest of the guys, and the Enand has tagged along on a tour of the Egyptian Underworld. Things sure get exciting, floating ships, magical amulets, those creepy scarab beetles, literal mummy attacks, it was an adventure. The mythology in this was strong and I'm loving it. Seeing the sacred areas of the underworld and learning more about the culture was excellent. There were certainly a lot of unique scenes and the book had an ominous feel to it, very atmospheric, and it added to the story. I also enjoyed getting to know Ra and the other a little better, it wasn't only interesting but they were unexpected.

Her Dark Prophecy was freaking epic! Gods, it was glorious, the danger, the mythology, and the steam (my Kindle app caught fire), I freaking loved it. Elizabeth did a fantastic job wrapping up Tory's and her guys' story. There were so many unexpected aspects, including a few twists. It also invoked a little more emotions that I hadn't expected but that's not a bad thing. There aren't even words for how much I loved this series, there aren't too many paranormal romances with Egyptian mythology and Elizabeth has done a great job on such a unique series.

Pretty good

So, I feel like this story dragged on a little too long. I liked the story line because I love stuff about Egypt. However, dragging in a husband, Ptah, so late in the game was a bit weird. I mean, in other lives they looked for him, but for the most part it seemed like they pretty much just figured he disappeared and that was the end of things for many life cycles. It was kind of odd that, just because she was put in a sarcophagus, they decided that's what happened to Ptah and decided to look for him again. I just felt he was an unnecessary addition to the story line. Why did she need her priests if she had god as a husband? A god husband should be able to satisfy her in all ways. How did her god husband end up captured and nobody knew for thousands of years? It was just weird.
Overall, I enjoyed the story line. Not my favorite series by this author, but it was pretty good.

good ending

This was a good conclusion to a good series. The sexy times were good but with as often as they were they took away from the plot slightly.

I wish we had gotten to see some of the past lives with Tory and her guys in a bit more detail.

loved the series

Epic series, I didn’t enjoy the plot of the final book as much as I wanted to, and didn’t get enough time with you know who to satisfy me.
But all in all I’m excited to read the next series by this author
