Come to Crooked Tree, sit for a spell, and have a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon as part of the Veil Falls Wine and Murder Show.
When I was a child I wanted two things. To Write a Novel and to be Wonder Woman and save the world.
Somewhere past 40, I realized the tights were never going to fit, and the only flying I was ever going to do was in a plane.
So instead, I write my Strong and Sassy Heroes/Heroines into the novels I pen…
I build doorways into contemporary worlds filled with magic, that allow all of us to be a hero to our own fantastical imaginations.
To me, every character is real. I walk alongside them as they discover that fear is the flip side of courage, that survival may just be a badge of honor, and that our flaws are an opportunity to emerge stronger, and discover our own personal brand of superpowers—at any age.
Verity has the Market Barn just about ready to open for business. When one man wants to rent a space, Verity tells him that she is full, but when she looks again, there is one spot open. While she gets a strange feeling from the man, she rents him the space anyway. She is not going to pay her bills by turning down someone's money. Is this man going to bring more trouble than his money is worth? Read this well written story with fascinating characters. But, fair warning, once you pick up the book your not going to want to put it down.
This is my voluntarily offered honest review for a free copy of this book.
Something insidious is knocking on the door of Veil Falls wanting in. It's not the Ghost next door. Verity will need all her skills as a Vine Witch and Ghost Seer to keep the Tweeners out. And if the expression on the dead guy's face is anything to go by, she'll need something more. Because what's running the show at Crooked Tree Market Barn isn't anybody's idea of a joke and nobody's laughing. This is a good mystery. Verity is a vine witch who saves the day with the help of a ghost. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Crooked Tree Market Barn is ready for it’s grand opening. Hopefully, it will be successful so Verity can get those bills paid. The town seems to have some gremlins – broken water faucets, fish in the swimming pools, and more. What could be causing this? Potus seems to be missing and Thurston the ghost is fading away. It will take all the witches in town to solve these issues and restore order. I enjoy this series. I love Verity and Honor. I even like Verity’s side job as the coroner’s assistant. But I really enjoy the wine end of the stories.
Verity Blume's latest adventure is her most dangerous yet! The new characters aren't what they appear to be, but can Verity figure out who they are before it is too late. Joel has his own questions to answer, that Verity needs too. As Verity's power grows so does Verity and Honor's romance. Bringing Crooked Tree Farm back to life is starting to cost more than just money. And as readers have come to expected Ms. Rain ends with the perfect cliffhanger to set up the next work. Lucky for us she doesn't keep us waiting long.
Verity is a vine witch trying to save her vineyard and business with the help of her nephew Joel, friends and her neighbour, Honor, when there's a murder. There follows more strange goings on, another murder plus the mystery of a magical entity trying to gain entry to their world. Can Verity solve the murders and find the key to stop the destruction as well as saving her friends and business? Ooh there's lots going on, a great page turner, well worth a read.
I did get a free copy of this book from the author but it is my honest review
Can a book series jump the shark? This book felt entirely different than the rest, and not in a good way. We've jumped from murders with a bit of supernatural to almost entirely supernatural with a bit of murders.
There are always timeline and continuity problems with these books, but they are worsening with each book. I wish every author re-read their previous work and kept the timeline intact. I enjoy these characters very much, and would love to read more - assuming they can keep some semblance of their previous ages/traits/backstory.
Cabernet Caper is another good book in the Spell's Bay Mysteries series. Not only does Verity need to try to figure out who committed a murder in her Party Barn, but she and the other characters in this series need to help stop evil from coming in and killing all of the residents! No worries, though, as Verity and the gang are up to the task.
Enjoyed this book. Verity and crew are once again hunting for answers! They come with more questions but they are answered in the end! The suspense and clues were great! I can't wait until b the next book!
his is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Very entertaining! Great Reading Everyone!
