I 'almost' was going to stop reading at the very beginning. It was not so much the odd take on how the rapture might happen, tho, that was not a good start for me...
but it mentioned a woman pastor, and I was about done.

Nevertheless, I did keep reading, and the novel got better and better.
I did feel a bit confused, almost as if there were two authors.

However, there were some wonderful applications of scripture, prayers, etc.
I was very touched, when a 'male' pastor helped a person struggling with their sin,
and inability to forgive themselves
( even after asking God for forgiveness, they were unaware that to keep putting themselves down,
was a slap in God's face). I was very well written and very helpful to me.

I grew to really like the characters, and see how they grew in their faith.

One other issue was the stealing. The characters did not pray about how they might get more supplies,
nor did it even seem to cross their minds that since it was the tribulation, perhaps God might provide.
On the other hand, even tho they were saved, they still had sin in their lives.

Different

I've read a lot of "End of the World" books. Generally they start either before or right at the time of the Rapture. A. Bean started after the Rapture and jumped head first into the Tribulation period. He did a good job of relating the problems and dangers that will define the Tribulation years. However, I believe some background as to why the end of the world as we know it is happening would be in order. Although this is a very popular genre right now there are many who do not know or understand the why. God has been very patient for thousands of years because of His great love for mankind. But in the end judgement will come to all who reject Him and His Son, Jesus. I look forward to reading the next 2 books of this trilogy, hoping the why will be made apparent.

The Rapture as you have never imagined it ...

A version of the Rapture that was uunexpected imagined differently than I've ever read before. Told from a first person perspective that felt authentic. A strong storyline with interesting characters. Focusing more on the characters and how they're getting through, than the prophesied happenings in the world. A great read. (The editing could use some work though.)

The End Of The World

This is a futuristic book of the end times after the Rapture has taken place. A Christian group has set house in a bunker and jobs are distributed for smooth running. The Anti-Christ and his secretive, devious methods produces a great following; it’s like the people have been brainwashed. A realistic like approach to what may happen and leaves the reader thinking about preparation for eternity.

The End of the World is an interesting apocalyptic story based on the Christian Bible which features the story of Wyatt who experiences the rapture and the events which follow. It is his story along with a group of survivors who he finds. This book has realistic characters and a plot with many twists.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fair Read

I wish I could give the book a 4 star but I do not think the book deserved one. The characters and plot were not well developed n my opinion. Sorry A Bean I wish I could give it a 4star.

The End of the World by A. Bean

This was a good book. There wasn’t the usual emphasis on the actual Biblical account of what is to take place during the Tribulation Period, but it was well written fiction, based on recent world events and threats that are present during these latter days.

Poor excuse for a Book

Poor grammar, anti-Roman Catholic slights, and very poor theology make this a DON’T READ book. Don’t waste your time, please.
