Brothers in Arms #3

Big Bad Wolfe

Rate this book
Wolfe “Big Bad” Jarrett loves being a SEAL but is frustrated by the red tape and rigidity of the military, so when former teammate Grady “Buck” McCormick calls from his new protection service Brothers in Arms and asks for help, Wolfe is intrigued. A talent agent has requested a bodyguard for a photographer in New York, and since Wolfe is on a rare holiday leave, he agrees to do the job, just to test the waters of working for Brothers in Arms.

It’s the week before Thanksgiving, and after ruffling all the wrong feathers, investigative reporter Poppy Flannery has been exiled to the wastelands of the Lifestyle section where she’s assigned to write a fluff piece on the floats and balloons in the upcoming Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.

Poppy and Wolfe have history of the semi-romantic and fully-humiliating kind, so when Wolfe shows up with Poppy’s photographer to a parade-related interview, they’re both shocked and angry to see each other again. But after she gets an anonymous call about a bomb threat, then a dead body shows up in her car, Poppy reluctantly accepts Wolfe’s offer of protection.

Wolfe and Poppy, with the help of some of the Brothers in Arms, spend the next few days leading up to Thanksgiving following clues and hunting down domestic terrorists in an effort to save the city from another attack. Somewhere along the way, they put their past to rest, and it becomes apparent that maybe Poppy and the Big Bad Wolfe could have a future, after all.

This book was previously released as "Poppy and the big bad Wolfe" and there doesn't appear to be any major changes so be aware of that.

Poppy has managed to ruffle too many feathers in her quest for the latest story so this investigative journalist has been told to do a fluff piece on the Thanksgiving parade balloons but you just know that things aren't going to run smoothly. Wolfe(Big Bad) Jarrett is on holiday leave from the navy but this Seal is also fed up of the red tape that stops him from doing his job and is thinking of joining former team mate Bucks Brothers in Arms. So he is more than willing to do a trial run as a bodyguard for a reporter it is even better when he discovers her photographer is non other than his own brother He just didn't expect her to be a blast from his school yard past. But as things quickly escalate and it looks like a terrorist plots is in the works he will have to work hard to not only keep Poppy and his brother safe but also save the parade and New York. Meanwhile he is starting to look at his nemesis in a whole new light Can they have a future You will have to read to see

Poppy and Wolfe have a past, and it didn’t end well all those years ago in high school, when hormones rage and keeping face with your buddies are the order of the day. Poppy Flannery, now a respected investigative reporter who just managed to ruffle enough feathers with her last piece has been assigned to the Lifestyle section as her penance.
Wolfe (Big Bad) Jarrett a tough as they come Navy SEAL is in town to spend some well deserved family time during Thanksgiving, but gets called upon to help out Brother in Arms Security with a local assignment.
Soon Poppy and Wolfe cross paths, and as expected it doesn’t go well, as both are forced to remember their all too brief shared past. As the story unfolds danger, drama and intrigue enter the picture and Wolfe and Poppy begin to come to terms with the past and make peace with each other as they acknowledge their attraction and work their way to a well deserved second chance at an HEA in this entertaining, romantic, sexy and suspenseful addition to the Brother in Arms Security Series.

Wolfe and Poppy

I really enjoyed reading this book. Wolfe Jarrett and Poppy Flannery met in high school. He was Mr. Popular and she was quiet. He did something terrible at their Junior prom that really hurt her. She's still hanging on to her hurt and outrage over a decade later. She is an investigative journalist with a New York newspaper. She is being forced to do a "fluff" piece about the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade to appease her boss. Things take a left turn when Poppy gets too close to things she shouldn't. A threat against her life has Wolfe Jarrett stepping in to protect her. He is a Navy Seal doing a favor for a friend. Will they succeed in putting aside childish hurts to get the HEA they deserve? Get this book and find out what happens. You won't regret it. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

NYC holds strong

The SEALs are together for the holidays but not working for military as it is a suspected terrorism but no proof. A second chance meeting for a high school antic gone wrong and some crazy actions later the story creates a fast paced race to solve the problem before terrorists strike NYC again. The chemistry is there and the story is good. The family additions are great and the thanksgiving dinner is one to remember. The ending was odd and I am confused by parts of it, but still a good read!

Wolfe is a At Seal.
Poppy is a newspaper journalist.

Poppy and Wolfe new each other in high school and the relationship
had some not so good moments. As we all know teenagers sometimes
can be cruel.

Poppy and Wolfe lives intertwine with a lifestyle article on The Macy’s Day Parade, a bodyguard and a terrorist plot.
You will have to read the book to find out what happens, and to see
if Wolfe and Poopy can have a relationship.

This is good story with suspense, intrigue, romance, twists, turns,
drama, emotions and a second chance at love.

Great Job. Margaret Madigan !!!

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING THRILLER

Two people reconnect, a investigative reporter and a Seal, from their high school years with bad experiences on both sides. Both still carry hurt feelings from those early years. He now is asked to protect her as she accidentally uncovers a terroristic plot for a Thanksgiving Day parade plus finding a dead body in her car. An intense drama to find the person or persons responsible and the bomb. A very captivating thriller.

Action A Plenty

A very well written story. Loved the characters. Some new and some old friends. Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Wow! Love the parade every year and this just helps the story become alive. But terrorists. No, no. Our hero has his work cut out for him. Action on just about every page. Loved this!

Good read

Poppy and Wolfe went to high school together. But when he took her to the prom she found out that he had done so on a dare. Then she wrote and article on him, they were both humiliated and were still carrying the scars from that long ago date. But when they are threatened by terrorists they work together to find the bar guys.

I love the fire and sass between Wolfe and Poppy, it is sexy, funny, feisty and challenging. This book has a little bit of everything and is fast paced too, this is one of my favourites of the series, a series which is available on Kindle Unlimited, so you have nothing to lose...try it now!
