I was interested in this book because the author is published under the same publishing group as my first novel, Grayality. I was excited to see what my publisher and the author had to offer in this super sexy romance. If readers are looking for passion, erotica and forbidden love, they are in for a good treat.
Dante is a shapeshifter who can change into a wolf. He comes from a wealthy, powerful family and can spend his days focusing on the work he loves, which is scientific research. He wants the wolves to experience never-ending life as the vampires enjoy. Too obsessed with his job, he has written off any chance for romance, arrogantly believing he is immune. But the wolves have forever mates, and Dante is no different. Except, his true love just happens to be a vampire.
Amara is a young woman devoted to her career in the publishing industry and worried about her inevitable decline from ALS. When she is attacked and bitten by a seditious vampire named Akar, her life is forever changed. Luckily, Dante intervenes, running Akar off and taking Amara back to his place as she undergoes the transformation into vampirism. Despite the physical pain and reluctance to believe her fate, Amara cannot deny the immense yearning she has for Dante. The two lovers are compelled toward each other immediately. There’s only one problem. Wolves are forbidden to mate with vampires. Also, Akar is not giving up his infatuation with Amara that easily.
Learning about the world of vampires, wolves and even witches was fun. The author provided a scientific-sounding explanation for all the biological changes and rules. Dante was a believable character. I have been guilty of drowning myself in my work to the point of negligence of love and dating. It made sense that the one to win his heart would have to be unique. Someone like him wouldn’t just fall for anybody. The author kept the excitement going as Amara and Dante are under constant attack, and the future of their relationship stays uncertain throughout the novel. The author wove in lots of sensual sex scenes for readers who love erotica. Overall, the novel succeeded in providing a smooth flow of entertainment. I would recommend this book to romance readers.
