Cyrus Beldon is done with vampires. His family hunts them. He fell in love with one. But then a messy breakup with his lover prompted Cyrus to cut ties and forge a new, vampire-free path for his life.
Unfortunately, unlucky circumstances bring that path right back to his ex-lover's doorstep two years after Cyrus stormed away. Now faced with a chance to reconcile, Cyrus wonders if he gave everything up too soon. But after leaving such a mess in his wake, is there even any forgiveness left for him?
UPDATE FROM THE AUTHOR, FEB. 2025: The revised edition of Sweet Sorrow is now available for Kindle! Thank you for your patience and understanding while I polished this book to make it the best it could be. A few notes: * Yes, you can read it before SILVER BLOOD. (Or after!) * Kindle files should update automatically if you already have the book; the title page in the new edition should say "Definitive Edition." If you've tried un-downloading and re-downloading and the new edition hasn't appeared, contact me. * Please mind the content warnings, found here: https://tallimorgan.com/#cityofsilver
As always, thanks for reading! Enjoy ;) _________________ UPDATE FROM THE AUTHOR, OCT. 2024: Please be aware that this book will be undergoing significant revisions in order to correct inconsistencies with its companion novel, and is temporarily unavailable in paperback. An updated edition of SWEET SORROW will be available in February 2025. Should you choose to read an older edition, know that there are major character and plot details that will not match up with SILVER BLOOD. As the author, I would prefer if new readers hold off on SWEET SORROW until it has been updated. Thank you.
If you're on the hunt for something sweet and spicy, pick up this novella! We meet main character Cyrus Beldon as he's traveling through a familiar part of the forest, brooding about his failed relationship from two years ago. His heart still aches; he can't move on... and then an accident occurs and he's forced to come face-to-face with the vampire who broke his heart, Lucien. Even though this is a novella, Morgan does a fantastic job of developing chemistry between these two from the very beginning. The world-building is great and I would love to know more. Fingers crossed that Morgan plans to give us more from both of these characters!
Short and sweet (heh) and very spicy. Sweet Sorrow is a must read for those of you who enjoy a seductive queer vampire romance that will sink its fangs into you from page one.
“Maybe I didn’t know it until last night, but I need this place, and I need you.”
This novella is set seven years after the events of Silver Blood and I believe it is actually the author’s first story about Cyrus and Lucien. It’s a short and quite spicy second chance romance. It doesn’t have a whole lot of plot but lots of character moments. If you read the first one and crave a bit more, or if you’re in for a good ol’ spicy time, this one will be perfect for you!
Very short. Felt.. more like a cut scene or an epilogue? I couldn't place the time period. Seemed historical, but then the way the two characters talked to each other, it felt more modern. Somehow the bulk of the story was both without context and filled with vague backstory? Not sure how to explain that one. Anyway, not a terrible hour spent.
I don't typically read vampire stories but I wanted to give this a shot. I loved the vibe of the setting, the complicated history of Cyrus and Lucien, and that it actually avoided doing what I don't like about most vampire stories. The focus was on the fact that the two actually love and care for each other and it had none of the "woe is me, this curse of the night" nonsense that comes with so many vampire fictions. Great read, especially if you want the bois to be feeling spicy for each other.
I really liked the couple in this and the spice was amazing but I did feel like I was thrown into it without context and an explanation of why did they break up in the first place felt a little artificial while taking into account how much they cared about each other back then. I wish it had a few more pages but other than that, love some vampire love interests.
I read this in one sitting and loved every word! The MC's inner voice is excellent, and the soft and steamy second chance romance is fantastically paced. Def recommend Sweeet Sorrow for readers of lgbtq and/or vampire romance, especially because it is such a fast and satisfying read!
I meant to read for about 10 minutes before bed and ended up reading the whole thing.
I want to bash Cyrus and Lucien's heads together for being monumental chumps, but I guess I'll settle for being happy they managed to stop being stupid and do lewd things instead.

This was so sweet! (And thus aptly titled haha.) I was drawn in immediately and loved watching the reconciliation between Cyrus and Lucien unfold. They were both delightful characters who clearly still cared deeply about each other despite the painful and abrupt ending of their relationship, and I was 100% invested in seeing them get back together. Sweet Sorrow is a compelling read packed full of emotions, heartfelt conversations, and some spice, and is perfect for devouring in a single sitting.
