Ahhhh, and just like that this series pulls me right back in!!! This volume was so intense, probably my favorite volume since the first one! Can’t wait to read more soon.
Wow, this volume had me thinking "Is this how it ends???" even knowing full-well that there are 2 more volumes after this. It just hits such a climax of 'how can they possibly escape this??'.
I will say this this is the only volume where I struggled so much to understand what was happening physically. There was a lot of blank panels with the word 'swoosh' or 'smack' or some such and I couldn't figure out if someone had hit someone, and if so, who'd done it. I would be staring at the page and honestly have no idea who's limb was being shown rushing through the air or who's ribs were being broken. It was too vague for anyone to understand. I really disliked that, personally.
BUT! There were several moments that had me visibly shaken and flipping the pages as fast as humanly possible.
I want to give it a 3.5 but I feel like the series is so clever and like nothing I've ever read. So I'm morally obligated to give it a 4. Just know that within this series, this volume is just okay where the others are phenomenal.
Oh my god … ?! This was easily the best volume of Killing Stalking yet! I’m itching to read #5 now! The dark horror imagery during those last pages was everything !! 💀🤡🔪😍
The walls are closing in on the sadistic, psychopathic, murderer; Oh Sangwoo. The police are suspicious of him, but need Yoon Bum to co-operate with their investigation. Officer Yang Seungbae doesn’t care about the risks involved, he just wants justice brought for Sangwoo’s victims. But is Yoon Bum too attached/in love with Sangwoo now? Will he do anything to protect the one he loves despite the fact he is evil personified? And what about the fact that Yoon Bum was actually behind one of the murders?
Flipped through the whole series so fast that Flash would be proud of me. Was just curious to know what level of unhinged were the peeps talking about. Overall rating: 4.5⭐
Best way to describe this series is like a car crash, a horrific one. I know I shouldn't look, but I just can't stop! I need to know what the outcome is going to be. Despite being horrendously disturbed!
This was a 4 star till the nightmare. What a wild chapter that was. The art doesnt really stand out much in this webtoon, but the nightmare chapter was artistically well developed. It felt like like I was watching and not reading.
Even in Korea ACAB exists and this volume continues to show us that at its finest. The "detective" work is shoddy, illegal, and not going to catch Sangwoo. Of course, it is a cat-and-mouse chase that at times felt reminiscent of L's hunt for Kira in Death Note, but without the finesse, intelligence, and cunning needed to catch someone as brutal as Kira. Sangwoo reminds me very much of Light Yagami's deranged and easily fractured mental state, but he is just even more terrifying and hands-on. If Light Yagami didn't have a god-complex, he would be Sangwoo and Sangwoo has a god-complex who just feels good and happy when it comes to getting his hands dirty.
The increasing audacity and sheer number of shock value scenes -- so much stabbing, so much rape -- of this thriller series is starting to wear on me.
The cat-and-mouse game between the serial killer, the Stockholm Syndrome victim, and the police officer, Yang, escalates to physical confrontation as Yang goes completely off the rails in his investigation.
Actually, what really got me down about this volume was the closing chapter: a 67-page dream sequence. I hate dream sequences.
I have another volume on hand from the library that will decide if I continue or give up on this series.
Low key I’m happy I can finally finish this series after 2 weeks of usps ping ponging this all around the Midwest.
The clowns were weird at the end but I’m satisfied with the progression of Bum and Sangwoo’s relationship. I don’t feel bad for detective Yang bc he’s just trying to be “right” and he doesn’t care about Bum at all or the girl who got murdered.
It’s interesting how Koogi makes their audience question the authenticity of the detective’s memory on past events surrounding his father and his father’s murder.
Not a fan of clowns at the end. Idk why horror authors always make the easy grab for clowns chasing people with *insert murder weapon here*.
Any accusations of this manhwa romanticising toxic and abusive relationships really say more about those making said accusations than about the work itself.
Yes, there are sweet and endearing moments between Bum and Sangwoo. That's how a lot of abusive relationships go, where the victim ends up with this neurochemical addiction to the relationship because they are chasing the highs of the few times when it is good, and those times contrast so much to the times when it is bad that the abused gets a "rush" out of it. It's a cruel twist on the classic Cat String Theory that keeps the cycle of toxicity in an abusive relationship going.
You can clearly see how Sangwoo is doing this.
The effort it takes for him to say nice things to Bum that are very obviously him trying to figure out what Bum wants to hear, the optimal strategy to keep him around.
The dead look in Sangwoo's eyes that you get at certain points when he's going on dates with Bum demonstrate this - his capacity to love and be loved is so absent that he actually *looks down* on Bum for being weak enough to be openly attracted to him, especially as Sangwoo has done progressively more fucked up shit to Bum.
This sheer absence of even the most basic respect for Bum is epitomised in their sexual encounters, where there is an almost stubborn refusal to use any form of lubrication, as well as clear discomfort around Sangwoo being the giver in any way.
This is a dramatisation of an abusive dynamic that so well captures how broken people are drawn to each other and how they keep each other around. I adore how tainted the more tender moments between the two guys are by the constant looming presence of the relationship itself, and the cognitive dissonance it elicits in you. True art is supposed to make you uncomfortable, and make you question certain core axioms of your understanding of the world. This series so far has been doing that spectacularly.
One thing's for sure - these two need to get the fuck away from each other, and I can't wait to see how this happens.

I know what you are thinking.... 5 stars??? On book 4?! Yeah I'm shocked too. This has been my "favorite" so far. This book had my heart racing, and in general just....... in awe of the Manipulation of Sangwoo and the total Justification of Yang. MENTALLY UNWELL FR FR.
This series puts the GRAPHIC in graphic novel- but honestly the most disturbed I got in this volume was the Nightmare chapter at the end. I. Don't. Do. Clowns.
“Just how much does this person know? Does he know I killed someone, too?”
Seungbae is determined to arrest Oh Sangwoo, ready to go as far as stalk him around the city and break into his home. He corners Yoon Bum, hoping to get a confession and a witness to Sangwoo's crimes out of him.
This series continues to be, as the kid's say, batshit crazy. It's not a particularly fun read, but it is very engaging and intriguing, and it keeps me coming back to it despite all the shit I have too see with my poor, at least semi-innocent, eyeballs.
I liked the more cop drama vibe of this volume, as Seungbae is doing his utmost to capture Sangwoo, whom we all of course know is guilty of all sorts of things, despite such small facts as not having enough evidence to tie him to any specific thing. It's frustrating to read cause I wanted him to get caught cause he is horrible but I was also annoyed at how Seungbae was going all rogue to do it, cause that's not how the police should operate. All the stuff with the cops, the arrests and Seungbae questioning Bum, trying to get him to turn on Sangwoo, was very intense.
Sangwoo and Bum's relationship continues to be twisted and all sorts of uncomfortable, not much more to say about that. I liked how this volume showed how
I am not jumping up and down waiting for the next volume, but I know that when I get my hands on it, I will happily read that too.
Honestly the most psychologically "thrilling" of the 4 so far you don't know where anyone stands or what's gonna happen I really liked this one it's lower on the gore which I am happier with personally but it's just a really good story arc
