That’s wishful thinking on Valerie’s part. The Jarls keep dropping her and Jacob into problems it would take Heimdall’s foresight to unravel.
Someone is messing with an inexplicable list of companies right here in America. Their connection is unclear, but Valerie sees Cleopatra behind every move.
When will it stop? Is her enemy renting space in her head for free?
It’s becoming obvious that Jacob is starting to worry about his partner. Is it in a good way, or a ‘time for the straitjacket’ way?
While Val appreciates his concern, how will she deal with him if it comes to that?
Val isn’t the only one with an enemy taking up every waking thought.
Cleopatra has decided that the best defense is a good offense, and she knows who to use as bait. Val will do whatever it takes to save this person, even piss off a God.
Can Valerie deal with Cleopatra's latest attack?
When the Chooser of the Slain is on a rampage, everyone needs to keep their heads down.
Really liked book 3. Pretty sure it's because i like what and how Anderle writes, because it is the way i want the world to work. That hard work and teamwork are rewarded, that generally things do work out for the best, that family is important. I like the character of Val, her family, the Viking Inc cast. I like what they stand for, that all it needs for evil to succeed is for good persons to not oppose it. Needless to say, I'm proceeding to book 4, not passing GO, not collecting $200.
enjoy a woman who really sees to justice being accomplished…
In his authors notes Michael mentions the Executioner series, this series has my heart as that one did for many books. Val harkens back to the sort of bringer of justice like we found there with an updated twist to include the Norse Gods and modern black ops. Fun to read and great to add another flavor to Michael’s worlds.
This series is a wild ride but a lot of fun. Love the characters and the way the world is being slowly fleshed out as the series goes. Lots of action, too bad on the wings but hopefully they will be back in a future book. I really enjoyed this book and series so far and look forward to the future books. I recommend this series and book.
Val, Jacob and the Vikings are up against an old foe along with a few new baddies. I really enjoy the storylines and all the characters of this series and get a kick out of Val and Regin's conversations. I can't wait for the next book to see what troubles they get into next.
Be sure to start at the beginning ! The series progresses and gets better and better as you go along. Great characters fast paced plotting and an original concept story line. Well worth your time.
Valerie Leary is learning to deal with a secret identity as a real Valkyrie. The problems are that her partner and her boss have been seeing strange evidence that *SOMETHING* is going on. Add in the arch villain , Cleopatra and there is plenty to keep one's attention. Bring on Book IV!
To me this seems quite a departure for Anderle, but that is probably because I've been reading certain collaborations lately. Further reflection assures me that MA often gets nitty gritty with his plots and is no stranger to internal darkness. Duh me. (Yes, I can say BA.) I'm seriously hoping wings on covers is a good omen for Val's future.
Tremendous series, always exciting and enjoyable!!!,
Congratulations to Michael Anderle for another amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book!
Needs work. Reading this I couldn’t stop thinking the author was both sloppy and lazy.
But then again it’s probably a matter of just not caring about anything other than publishing as many books as possible putting the minimal amount of work into them resulting in the lowest possible quality, seeking that sweet spot which will still see people buying them.
New take on old gods! Well written, well thought out and a kick@$$ ride. Please keep Val's adventures coming. The world would be far less interesting without them?
As always, Michael Anderle delivers an awesome story. Love the strong female lead character, the drama, the little bits of history & of course all the action and fighting. Can't wait until the next book is released..
Well Val has well and truly annoyed her adversary. Unfortunately it is the loved ones of her and her comrades that will pay the price. With more twists and turns than rollercoaster ride this book was fantastic I just couldn’t put it down.
Mr. Anderle has written another intense book. The action is ongoing and the clues ready to be put together. This is what Val does and in the process of saving her brother she loses her wings. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Val and Jacob make such a great team. Awesome writing makes an awesome story. I am hooked on everything Michael Andersen. I hope this will be a long running series because who knows what world disaster Viking will get mixed up in. Happy reading.
and the magic keeps spinning into a more fantastic tale!
Love this series! I am totally hooked on the Urban Druid series and approached this series with skepticism. This series is in my mind right behind Urban Druids but is gaining!
I love the detail taken to incorporate both myth and modern military tactics. This whole series is turning out to be a great read with bold characters and some Norse swagger blended in. It's good to see a female lead in this genre.
This series is just getting better and better! The action has begun to accelerate and the characters are growing more and more!! Everybody ought to be reading this one! Go, Michael! On to bok 4!
This series has it all. A likeable and intriguing heroine, fast paced action at every turn. Hints of a budding romance and the perfect touch of the otherworldly to make it stand out from other action adventure.
Really enjoying the series so so far but now I have to wait for book four :( A series this good deserves to be read non stop which is why I usually wait until more books are available. Ug! I hate waiting
