Ye screw with this lass, ye get put on yer ass. The Culling draws ever nearer— looms really— like a big, fat cloud of doom. With evil brewing, our enemies grow bolder, the warriors of light and dark scramble to be ready for the Winter Solstice, and the Cumhaill fam jam digs in to face the battle of our world’s alignment. No biggie… Team Trouble is on it. For now, the human populations remain oblivious to the imminent battle to come. If we continue to do our jobs right, it’ll stay that way. What you don’t know won’t hurt you, amirite?
Yeah-no. If evil gains a stronger foothold in our world, it will definitely hurt you.
Amid hexes, hostages, and hot tub horrors, Fi and her family and friends tackle the big questions. Who will join team chaos?
Where are Mingin and Melanippe? And…are yeti real?
Fiona brings you more druid adventure, family shenanigans, and mythical tales of magic and mystery in A United Front , the thirteenth installment of the Chronicles of the Urban Druid.

Again I quite enjoyed reading the latest instalment in the Chronicles of an Urban Druid series despite the series beginning to become quite long now. All too often a series that drags on for 10+ books tends to become boring or bloats out in too many characters and too much plots inside of plots. Not so for this series, at least not yet.
Well, it appears that the end is near though since the 15th book in the series (this one is the 13th) is supposed to be the last one. As much as I want to continue reading it is probably a good idea that the author ends the series after 15 books. I doubt he could have dragged it out for much longer without it going downhill.
This book is the usual mixture of family events, mystery investigations and bad guy clobbering by the Cumhaill clan. The friendly family bantering is there, the ass kicking is there and why not throw in a few yetis. As always Fi picks up weird friends as the story progresses.
I liked the yeti part and I am quite interested in learning how the main story arc with the famous, yet to come, culling will finally conclude. I guess I am a bit worried as well. I have read more than one series which I have really liked just to have them ruined by a crappy ending.
Anyway, this was a good book and I’m looking forward to read the next one.
It’s the dragon’s first birthday and Clan Cumhaill throws a party. Everyone gathers at Gran and Granda’s house for the grandest party ever. One with almost too much fun.
On a more serious note, someone is messing with the empowered’s control downtown and the sorcerers Mingin, Melanippe and Morgana’s son Yvain are back in play.
Footnote: I’ve done that hamster ball thing about twenty years ago. Only mine was floating on water. Not easy to maneuver, but so much fun!
Fave scenes: Jackson meeting Cazzie, Bruin’s rage on the ship, Mingin’s trick and Dionysus evacuation.
Book 13 I keep waiting for this series to be in the same time as the one with Jules series sadly I read in wrong order so I know what happens, but it's nice to get Tazs back story as he is more permanent in the next series Fiona has cameos but if I read the series in order the cameos in the other series would've ment more. Question when did Emmet marry? I thought they did the handfast that's like a one year engagement, but in this his wife is mention? Same with her da?
Perhaps it’s reading this at 3.30am, but A United Front just wasn’t as entertaining as a majority of the other books in the series. Don’t get me wrong, the whole ‘party’ fiasco was a hoot, but other than that I just wasn’t as invested in the story as usual, nor with what the characters were up to. Moral of this review, I shouldn’t start anticipated reads at before 6am 🤨
I love how no matter what this family goes through and in 13 books it’s been a lot it never feels over done , or repetitive! I love every single member of clan cumhail and I don’t think I’ve ever been able to say that about any book where I loved all the characters but in this one I truly do
This is my 2nd favorite series next to the Kurtherian gambit. It's a different sort of story but written with the same incredible heart. Auburn Tempest is right there with Michael Anderle and Martha Carr as authors who know how to relate tales of loyalty, love and family with LOADS of snark!!! Howard S (the S stands for Super Fan!)
This is a great series, I love the druids and all their friends. The characters are awesome and make you really care for them and the storylines make you want to finish the book in one sitting and then wait impatiently for the next one. I can't wait to see how it all wraps up.
Tempest and Anderle for the win!!! Darkness is trying to prevail, but Fi and her merry band of family and friends are quick to turn it back. Amidst all the action and drama, they party hard with Dart and his family and take out one of the enemy. Bring on more Fi and her desire to beat back evil.
A United Front, book thirteen of the Chronicles of an Urban Druid series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Team Trouble is on the job! It's hard to believe the writers are keeping the momentum and action going for so long. I'm just as invested in the storylines as I was on the first book. Kudos.
I love this series! Famiy, action, humor & twists. Fiona is a strong, loyal & smart heroine with an amazing & eclectic ream backing her up. I can’t wait for the nrxt book & look fowsrd to lots more adventures.
So very, very good. This was an amazing story full of so many laughs, character references, adventures, unique experiences, old experiences, family fun, fighting evil, and lots of family love. All that anyone could want or need in an outstanding story.
I just love this book and all the characters it makes me feel warm and safe inside while I'm laughing my butt off at the same time, I'm going to be so sad and heartbroken when the series is over. Thank you guys for a great read.
Enjoyable as always. I look forward with anticipation to the coming books and the culmination of the story, though I will be sad to put the final book down.
Great read, action in each chapter, keeps you guessing till the end. Love the dragons and animals, the brother’s characters are wonderful . Family unity with kick butt fighting. Can’t wait for the next one.
Just like all of the other books in this series, I am in absolute love. There is action and adventure and all the good things you want in a good book! I can't wait to read the next book!
I simply ADORE these books! The sass from the heroine and love the of her family makes these books some of the best that I have read in a long time. Can't wait to see what lies in store for them!
Go Clan Cumhaill. We are getting closer to the Culling. What is next for our urban druids and their extended family and friends? Guess we have to read the last 2 books in the series. Keep Reading!
I really like this series and I know some books are better than others. I thought this book was pretty good and I like the fact that Fi’s friends and family are always represented in these books. I do hope the next book is the end of the series because it is getting kind of old.
I highly recommend this magical and hilarious book, and the fascinating series in which it is, to readers who love reading imaginative Urban Fantasy. Enjoy!
