He found light in my darkness, and I found a place in his heart.
Valor: As the CFO for our multi-million dollar family business Clover Root, I was methodical with the financial tenacity to spot discrepancies. I had to be.
Yet, permanently broken-hearted, I was two different people, and I couldn't integrate them. There are two constants in my life, my best friend, Ariston, and this dark cloud that hovers over me, the one that ran every man I ever loved away.
I know I'll have to tell my parents about the breakup between David and me soon. But I don't want to disappoint them yet again. Especially as the oldest daughter, my parents pressured me to get married and have kids.
Ariston: Valor's been crying out about the men in her life, but she doesn't realize I've heard every word.
Splitting my time between being a single father and The Morning Vibe Breakfast Bar, I have to prove I can provide a stable home for my little man.
It seems like the perfect solution when Valor comes up with a plan to fake an engagement with me, giving her parents an instant grandchild and me a stable home for my son. But with my heart on the line, it's a win, win situation, or is it?
Growing up in a toxic environment and moving from one unhealthy relationship to another taught me that life was far from a fairytale. But books gave me solace and hope. Among the turmoil, I found refuge in reading. Engaging in stories allowed me to experience different worlds, feel deeply without judgment, and escape my reality.
This sparked my passion for fiction writing. Combining my own experiences with those of others, I create stories filled with emotion and depth that readers can relate to and escape within when necessary. My goal is to ensure everyone feels seen and heard, no matter their background, by weaving universal struggles into purposeful story arcs. I aim to show readers what resilience looks like and that there is always light ahead if you hold onto your courage.
Join me on a journey of personal truth and fictional adventures that offer comfort during tough times.
The second book had the same feeling as the first story. In a way, it's like a dejavu tale. Overall, I liked the couple's friends-to-lovers situation. However, I did not feel much chemistry between them in their story.
Title: Valor: The Billionaire Bae Author: Amber Ghe Publisher: A.G. Series: The Billionaire Bae Series Book 2 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: 'Valor: The Billionaire Bae" by Amber Ghe My Assessment:
"Valor: The Billionaire Bae" was another continuing series of 'The Billionaire Bae' book two that featured Valor and Ariston. Overall, this series was a good read, with this particular story showing what happens when these two best friends become lovers. With Valor having her problems with depression and a former ex, will this be a good thing to seek a best friend as a lover? The story these two made up for getting together in the first place was quite interesting.
To see how this author brings it all out, pick up 'Valor' and see how well it is brought out in the end. 'Valor' was indeed a good series.
I see the vision here, I really do. I love billionaire stories and I was excited to see one where the billionaire was both a woman and black. In the end, the style of writing is what made this such an unapproachable read for me. It felt very stilted and unrealistic, making it impossible for me to connect with the characters or the story. The characters come across as one-dimensional, several only serve as plot devices, and plot points are over-simplistic. And I can overlook a lot of that if the charm is there in the writing. But for me, sadly, it was not.
I enjoyed this book. Initially, it started out as a slow friends to lovers romance, but eventually I was able to get into it. It was well written and I liked the conversations on mental health/depression. Valor really didn’t know her worth, but Ariston brought out the best in her. It was good to get an update on Honor and Zea. Can’t wait to read more of the billionaire bae series.
I didn't enjoying this one as much. It lacked passion and a real connection. Valor character just seemed to standoffish towards Ariston. I don't know it just did nothing for me....I even skipped the epilogue.
I knew Moriah was up to no good. She just knew Ari was going to be hers because he was her baby daddy. Ha! Valor got on my nerves not knowing her worth. No matter who sees the value in you if you don't see the value their view is pointless.
I enjoyed this book. Valor and Ariston were longtime friends, and most times, your forever love is your best friend. Valor had problems with depression, but she still did what she could for those she loved and cared about. Ariston was a single father who put his son first but was always there for Valor, who had a lousy track record with guys. These two were good together, and when they started living together because Ariston let his baby mamma stay at his place for a time, it was a good fit. As stated previously, this is a good series, and I love when a book series revolves around a family, be it brothers, sisters, or a mixture of both. There's nothing like having a sibling to make life fun and someone you can always count on.
