Not my favorite
I usually love every book. This one was harder for me to get through. Marcel drove me nuts. I did not like him. Usually I enjoy the different characters and their personalities. This book in particular I had to push myself to continue. I really hope the next is better. I don't think I'm ever going to like Marcel, but I can't wait for the story to continue to unfold.

Why don't you ever finish a couples story, seriously hun we still have not got Darlene's full story! Geezzz I totally love this lil story verse you've created and I will say i am so glad these are on unlimited cause if it weren't I wouldn't buy them. And wouldn't get to read this series however it drives me crazy you list all the previous books in the series in the beginning and then do it again at the end so about 9-10 pages of redundant bs.. 66 books lol equal maybe 30. But I'd say do it read them the story is good!

I have devoured this series. I always look forward to new releases and set my calendar so I can read the next edition. It hooks you in and makes you part of the characters' lives and journeys. I would love for this to be a TV show! Who will find their true love mate next? Lucas keeps me engaged as there is never a dull moment! I definitely recommend it.

Disappointed but...
I loved this series in the beginning. Each character had their trilogy. There was suspense, action and sexy scenes. Three thing that make a great read for me. But lately, these installments seem to be written by someone else. There is no action or suspense. It seems the books are written just for the sex scenes with a couple of clues supporting the actual storyline. I really want to hang in there for the rest of the story (if there really is one), but I'm not sure I can. These characters no longer have a trilogy. The main characters have found their fated ones and now we are getting story lines for lesser characters. Are there going to be books for everyone in the compound? Is Annani ever going to be reunited with her love? What about Navuh? I'm getting to the point where I'm not sure I care if Jade is rescued, if Navuh continues with his sex trafficking and breeding program or if Annani does get her reunion.
Love the sex scenes but need a little more substance. Love that these characters are immortal without being vampires or shape shifters. You have great imagination so I'm hoping you can return to the way you were writing.

Dark Gambit, The Play KU 313 pgs *** 11/1/22 Marcel & Sofia
3 stars. Hard for me to get into Marcel’s story. He is a new character that I have no background on and he is quite boring. Sofia is easy to like but she feels used most of the book because of the way Marcel’s personality is. He seems to be able to shut of emotion completely at times which is not good in a beginning relationship. Tovan with Mia’s help tried to remove Igor’s compulsion from Mia, they discussed Igor’s hidden community and made plans to try and maybe rescue or at least make contact with the Kra-ell and Sofia’s family. The story was mostly dull, slow paced, some sex scenes that were okay. The original characters make some appearances which is always a highlight for me.

Took a long time
Took a long time, reading-wise, for them to form any kind of action plans. This book encompasses a couple of days, but the way the inner monologue carried on it seemed to take forever.
It kills me how the author describes Kian as acting fast on his decisions, but then he takes forever to actually make one.
As suspected, it took the entire book for Marcel to finally reveal his secret about his ex, and I don’t normally spoil, but I will this time: he murdered her husband… I know, it doesn’t really add up to any of the clues in his inner monologues about her or the initial story he told Sophia so I’m just assuming the author pulled something dramatic out of her ass at the last minute to be shocking. It would have been more so if the expensive “gift” he gave her was a child, knowing it was against clan rules and then she ran off, which both follow the same story and clues he’d given up until now… but no, something so ridiculously stupid and even the explanation of how it came to be even dumber.🙄🙄 He could have thralled her when she originally told her story, but it was against clan law… but murdering an innocent, which he was until proven guilty, was the first thing he thought to do… AS A GUARDIAN? Hell, he could have even thralled the husband when he seized his mind before murdering him. It was a crime of passion because he followed the man home, watched and waited. This is the dumbest thing ever to be given for him to have done.
But I digress. Almost caught up so I can leave this world behind soon. I love the MAIN story, not so much all the bull crap used to fill the series though which will make it had to miss. I might still read the Perfect Match books because I want to know who the hell Brian is very badly (Toven’s correspondent in PM). I’m surprised that since at this point Toven now has part ownership that Brian hasn’t been mentioned again since he also wanted to know who he was, especially since the world created resembles the gods. I wonder if he is Khiann?🤔

This is the second book for Marcel and his mate Sofia & I am really excited about where this series has started to go. I was originally unsure how I was going to feel about the Kra-ell coming into more of a focus, but I am loving it. I can’t wait to see where it will go next.

This is a nice “middle book” for Marcel and Sophia. Their story is moving along at a decent pace, definitely slowed back down from William and Kaia’s pace which is nice. I don’t feel like Marcel and Sophia are rushing into their bond, but I do feel like they could use getting to know each other better. I feel like Marcel could have told his secret a little sooner and that COULD have allowed Sophia to trust him more with information to get to the tunnels. I’m not really sure since Marcel hasn’t been a character We’ve known this whole time like William.
I do look forward to see how things play out with Jade and Igor. Hoping the next couple books resolve this portion of the story. And poor Darlene, hasn’t she suffered enough! I hope her story is resolved as well lol.

Finding out secrets
This is the next book in Sophie and marcels love story,will they be able to message jade.
Eric and Darlene gets help from max.Personally why not wait 6 months his hardly anything I would.
This is book 66 yeah I have read them all starting to need a spread sheet with family tree on.I wonder if there will be a twist with the twins mey and can't remember see needs spread sheets is it jin? Could they be related to Emmett or jade or vrog of even sophie.we know Sophie dad his human and mother is part krall-ell her granddad on mother's side being full.but who was the grandma plus her dad's bloodline.
I do love this series but think some things need to be better explained.

This book was split between focusing on getting answers, planning, and Marcel and Sophia’s relationship. There was a lot of talk about kra-ell ancestry vs. the god’s and what that means for dormants if they might be mixed!
I was so thankful for Eleanor interfering with Sophia and Marcel being awkward and not knowing how to act around each other. Marcel finally told his secret, and it’s a big one. I hope he finds peace with what happened. I’m excited for all the plans, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

Drama!
Nothing has been resolved from the last book. We're still waiting on the edge of our proverbial seat, with bated breath, to see how everything will work out.
We do find out Marcel's "secret"...
And the situation with Eric, Darlene, and Max was...funny. (Maybe it wasn't supposed to be, but I laughed. Oh, well...)
My curiosity is getting the better of me: Is Sofia a Dormant? Will Kian, Turner and the gang come up with a plan to liberate Igor's compound? If they do, what becomes of Jade and the others?
So many questions! On to the next book for some answers!

Great read...
I am never let down by author. I have never enjoyed a series of books like I've enjoyed the children of the gods books. This deep in to the books I feel like I know the characters that they are part of my family or I'm part of their family. Each book or I should say each couple In the books have a unique story of their own. Therefore every book takes you on a new adventure of the clan. The best advice I can give is to start from the beginning You won't regret it.

These books are a long and on going saga of immense proportion. I am in awe of an without who can produce such incredible work and keep the characters infused within it to such wonderful and superb ways. The writing is excellent. The saga is truly immense and I have enjoyed every single book totally. Am looking forward to the ways in which the author brings everything to what I believe will be a breathtakingly climax.

On with the Gambit story line and how the two descendants could somehow benefit each other or bring the two opposing enemies together ( which could reunite the Goddess with her sister). Plot twist. Love this series!! I say it every book....but it is so true!

Another gorgeous addition to this amazing series i absolutely love that I.T.LUCAS releases a new volume each and every month. Love her characters and 66 books in and im still eager for the next volume. I live that we get 3 books with a main character focus then onto someone new to match with someone we love.

Loved the drama between Marcel and Sofia. They belong together and I hope she transitions. Also am excited to see how the Clan rescues Jade and her clan. Looking forward to seeing if the Kra-ell are related to the Clan. Can't believe I've read the 66 books of this series. P.S. Kalugal is still my favorite 😍.

I just don’t think I can wait a whole month and 5 days for my favorite author to publish book 67. I have been hooked on I. T. Lucas’s books and hope they never end. In all the books it amazes me how all the characters are interwoven in every book she writes. I love every single book and can’t get enough! Hurry book 67 and don’t stop writing!

Great again.
I'm running out of great things to say about this series. When I read the first 37 books I thought it was the whole series. There are no real cliff hangers, just a great story I don't want to end. The only negative is there are too many weeks between books. Of course it could be months so I'll settle for what there is. Bring on the next book please.

Great Read
Marcel and Sophia have become an item. Toven was needed to remove igors' compulsion and she was able to inform them about what was happening. Everyone figured that Igor suspected Jade and needed to figure out how to help her and all the innocent people in the compound. Can't wait to read the next book.

Interesting
The story seems to start in left field in the prior book, but it's possible the Kra'ell portion is coming to at least a partial resolution. If Jade and the Kra'ell can be freed, perhaps we can finally learn something about the origins of the gods. Also, will Kaia help Annani find a way to use the warriors in stasis?

Dark Gambit The Play, book 66 brings is back to Safe Haven. Marcel takes over for William. A new batch of paranormals arrive. There's a Kra-ell plant. She's been sent to find information on Safe Haven and Emmett. The characters don't see what's coming for them. This book was drawn out and Marcel really isn't a fully fleshed out character. Hopefully, he'll get more depth soon.

OMG, it gets harder every book!

Just can't get enough
I like all the series, I just get deeper & deeper into the story. I try to put it down but it's impossible for me. I've just got to know what the characters are up too. It's just that good.
