Wonder how many ways I can say I LOVED this debut book…..I have never really had a ‘book hangover’ preferring to start the next one pretty much straight away but I kinda understand the term now,I wanted this book to carry on….I wished the book had been the introduction and still had the book to read 😊
Janet Jackson decides to open a ‘B&B’ in her ‘annexe’,her life is busy enough as it is with her Sister Maureen ( quite the character ) and daughter Chloe living at home…..she has no idea what she is letting herself in for and the book via her chatty almost friend to friend ( her to us the reader ) Adrian Moleish narrative takes us on this wonderful journey
Its funny, really funny but also at times sad, emotive, comforting, warm, cosy, honest and eye raisingly dramatic yet at all times human……the characters are superb, every single one of them bring something to the book and to us as the reader
It’s got to be my book of the year,I cant remember getting to 90% and dreading a book ending for a long long time,I wanted it to go on and on and well,I think you can tell, for me,it was everything a book can be,just magical

This is a funny read and ideal to unwind with after more heavy reads.
Janet Jackson is one of a kind, and one of those characters who you instantly click with.
When she concerts her garage into a b&b her life, and her teenage daughter Chloe changes quite dramatically.

I enjoyed the different families and relationships between the b&b guests, this added some extra fun into the picture as we got to know Janet and her family along the way.

At the end of the chapters we got some tips on running a b&b and these were also light and made me smile.
With plenty going on and enough laughs to last a while this is perfect to cheer you up.

This was a brilliant read! It focuses a lot on every day life yet it’s never dull. It’s entirely relatable but will also make you laugh.
I loved finding out who the next b&b guests would be - much excitement when I saw names under a chapter heading!

Janet is just lovely, as is Maureen, I’m the drunken sister myself so I related a lot! Chloe comes across quite spoiled but knowing teenage girls - that’s spot on!

They all go through a little journey, helped along by the residents of their village (which I could picture so clearly) and although there’s no huge, life defining , earth shattering realisations - something about the book just resonates and flows and I could’ve kept reading and reading. If it was a weekly update about the guests, I’d log
on and read it.

An excellent book which truly made me smile and escape the everyday of my life

A joyful, uplifting book filled with hope and hilarity!

Dental receptionist Janet Jackson’s wobbly journey to realise her dream of running a successful B&B in the heart of quaint Yorkshire is paved with pure comedy gold.

As she plays host to a multitude of unpredictable guests, many of whom she wouldn’t normally give the time of day to, she selflessly deals with the demands of her family: her moping teenage daughter, Chloe, who’s suddenly found love, and her sex-crazed sister, Maureen, who can’t get enough of it.

But as Janet’s fast-ticking body clock tells her it’s time to satisfy her own needs, it’s the steady stream of emotional hiccups provided by the three men in her life, Franklin, Peter, and Malky, that had me hooked.

I enjoy a quirky read every now and then, and this was certainly one of those. Janet is a divorcee who decides to renovate her garage into a cute B&B to bring in extra income but things don’t always got o plan throughout our adventure following her year.

I wanted to like her but she started to annoy me halfway through, her family (and others!) basically take the p**s all the time and she doesn’t say no, causing untold worry for herself. The worm does turn at points but she still gets put upon for the whole book. Her sister, Maureen/Mitzi, is a nightmare - how she put up with her for so long is beyond me!!

I did enjoy the book and there is lots of humour and witty one-liners that had me giggling throughout, and it was a quick easy read. Perfect for a weekend away at a B&B 😊

This was an amazingly uplifting read with bright and funny characters that kept me smiling and laughing all the way through. The story reads a bit like a soap opera and has all of the ingredients that a crazy comedy needs.

Throughout the book there are little tips on how to run your very own B&B, this one cracked me up;

‘Don’t be too eager with the leftovers. The guests might come back for them’.

These tips are actually really good and may give you ideas of starting your own bed and breakfast, it seems all you need is a garage and a good attitude! Oh and Wi-Fi!

There are also tips on life in general which I really enjoyed reading! We meet Janet Jackson the coper, cooker, baker, gardener, receptionist, cleaner, mother, sister, lover and proud B&B owner of the family. She takes us through getting her first booking for her new B&B. Things of course don’t run as smoothly as she hopes but she learns from her experiences and makes improvements as the story moves along.

I had a really good time with this chilled read, it’s the kind of story that you can be reading for hours and not realise that time is passing by. I read the book in one sitting!

Funny book, great holiday read

Was recommended this book by a friend, and even though I’m not much of a fiction reader I thought I’d give it a go. Very glad I did as it’s a sweet & funny story about a middle aged lady who sets up a B&B in her converted garage. I finished it in two days whilst on holiday and enjoyed it hugely

I wanted a read to take me away from real life as things were getting rather stressful, something that would perhaps make me smile for a while. This was most certainly the right choice. Every chapter has fulfilled all of the above and more.
Janet has opened a bed and breakfast which soon turns into a self catering after rapidly finding that cooking copious amounts of sausage and bacon at silly o’clock really isn't her thing. The guests she welcomes rapidly teach her the do’s and don’ts of running such an establishment- tips and hints as well on those on life etc are at the end of each chapter. Having known friends with a similar property, whilst this is fiction, I feel that “ the truth is stranger than fiction” may apply and can well imagine owners telling horror stories of some guests. She has a daughter Chloe who lives with her “ like so-and-so, like something” and her sister Maureen who is unemployed, looking for love and writing poems- all which makes for a wonderful larger than life mix. Janet has her own romantic issues- her ex and a new flame or two.
A wonderful tonic of a read that would make a perfect holiday book or a gift for someone needing a smile or a pick-me-up. Loved it.

The first few chapters were a bit slow-going. I was not sure where the main character, Janet Jackson, was taking the readers to. Is it on her journey to open a B&B or a dive into her family drama?

But then the plot got better and I found myself laugh out loud at Janet's reflections on her newly minted status as a B&B business owner and the interesting and quirky guests she hosted. An enjoyable and funny read, and I loved the Yorkshire backdrop.

Janet Jackson is a single mum to a teenage daughter and a dental receptionist. She has converted her garage to a B&B and is about to embark on the crazy adventure this is going to bring. With no experience, it turns into a huge learning curve as well as dealing with her sister, daughter, and ex-husband.

This is a great debut from Becky and full of fun and laughter. Some of the guests that Janet faces are great and the situations she finds herself in with her family also bring so much humour to the book.

The book is written in first person and it feels like Janet is literally sat telling us the reader her story. It is fast paced and easy to read. I didn’t want to put it down.

I really enjoyed the journey that Janet goes on through the book. Not only learning how to run the B&B and become a business woman but also how this reflects in her personal life. I feel that not only does Janet go on a journey but so do her sister, Margaret, and daughter, Chloe. And the dynamic of these family relations is lovely too.

A great debut, and a brilliant pick-me-up.

Thank you so much Becky Paperworth and Rachel’s random resources for gifting me a paperback copy of ‘Janet Jackson’s Yorkshire B&B’ in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book; I found it humorous and full of warmth that shows a true representation of modern family life with all its ups and downs. I found the relationship between Janet, her sister Maureen (Mitzi) and her daughter Chloe to be full of love and at times baffling frustration that had me chuckling throughout. I liked the diary style entry at the end of chapters with tips and tricks of running a B&B, it was a really interesting way to summarise the ins and out of the learning process. My only wish is that Peter was treated better, he deserved more. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Becky Papworth‘s debut novel “Janet Jackson’s Yorkshire B&B” is a really fun read. It’s a light-hearted story of Janet on a mission to own and run a successful B&B. Trickier than it sounds, this was a really entertaining story – 4 stars!

If there's one thing that I like doing, it's discovering new authors. Becky Papworth is certainly a new author for me. I read the synopsis for 'Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B' and it certainly sounded like the sort of fun and lighthearted read that I so needed at that moment in time. Well it was certainly all that and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B' but more about that in a bit.

I have to say that I loved the character of Janet Jackson - no not the famous Janet Jackson but the rather nice not famous Janet Jackson from Yorkshire. She is a woman of a particular age, who is a bit bored with her job and her life in general but she realises that if she wants things to change then she is the only one who can do anything about it. She has a dream of opening her own 'bed & breakfast' place and she sets about making her dream become a reality. Things don't exactly go to plan to start with and I kept everything crossed that she got the 'happy ever after' ending that she so deserved. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.

I was drawn into this story from the synopsis alone and as soon as I started reading, I knew that there was a fair chance that I wouldn't be doing anything other than reading for the rest of the afternoon. I found it nigh on impossible to put the book down for any length of time. It was as if the book had developed a hold over me and it was a hold that I wasn't willing to break. I loved the characters, I loved the storylines and I loved where the story is set. In fact I can't say that there was anything in the book that I especially disliked. This was one of those books that made me laugh from fairly early on in the story and I didn't stop laughing for the rest of the book. I soon got to the end of 'Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B' and I had to say goodbye to Janet and the rest of the gang. I found this to be a fun and lighthearted read.

'Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B' is extremely well written and then some. The author has one of those easy going writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading this book felt more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. For me, the story hit the ground running and maintained a steady pace throughout. The story is divided up into chapters and at the end of the chapters, there are several lifestyle tips from how to deal with relatives to how to run a B&B. I always know that the sign of a good book is when I become far too involved in the story to the extent that I 'live' the story as if it were real and I try to interact with the characters as if they can hear me. Well that is exactly what happened with this one. I love the way in which Becky combines the drama with the humour. I love the way in which Becky makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story themselves and at the heart of the action. That's how I felt anyway.

In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B' and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Becky's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

This is a truly honest and funny novel! Janet Jackson – yes, that is the name of the main character’s name – has decided to open a B&B on a small basis. She has spent all her money on converting her garage into a tiny cottage and embarks on letting it out. After all, she lives in beautiful Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, a small town which is a magnet for tourists and unconventional lifestyles. That would seem to be a sensible move given that she is a divorcee whose only other income is her full-time job as a dental receptionist and she has a teenage daughter Chloe at home to support. Despite being a bit demanding in the case of snacks and similar essentials of life, Chloe is often helpful with her computer knowledge and business acumen, which Janet seems to lack. Maureen, on the other hand, who also lives in the main house is frankly not keen on actually helping – she has other interests including performance poetry and well, men. In case of emergency, she is often absent in mind, body and spirit (unless from a bottle), leaving Janet to sort out the situation as much as possible.
Janet tells the story of the garage/ cottage / self -catering annex etc in her own words, including her panic moments, her worries about most things including tax and welcome hampers, and her mistakes. Becky Papworth has given Janet a convincing voice to describe the daily ups and downs of being a landlady, host and owner of the newest B&B in the market, as well as trying to get on with her own life. There is romance, including with safe Peter, and who would expect her ex husband to reappear with issues? The humour is gentle and convincing, emerging from situations and the amazing variety of guests that the cottage attracts. There are classic mistakes in charging for stays and other traps, especially when a noisy neighbour gets involved, but there also some lovely visitors that restore everyone’s faith. The downsides of single parenting a teenager emerge, but also the rewards when Chloe is supportive of her mother’s efforts.
This is a genuinely funny book which is relatable on many levels even if you have never been tempted to let a cottage or even a room. Janet’s household is as chaotic as possible, but there is a lot of affection between the inhabitants. I really enjoyed her enthusiasm for gardening, how she copes with her job at the dentists with the memorable patients, and the hurdles she must overcome. Christmas is a brilliant set piece with a full house of people she has sort of collected. There are some awkward situations which I could see coming, but they were still funny. The characters were well drawn in their often-maddening consistency, especially the ever-flamboyant Maureen. This book was honest about the choices for older women in a way many other light reads are not, especially the realities of romance in a complex world. I especially enjoyed the tips for life that appear at the end of every chapter; they begin with “Tips for Running a B&B” and become Tips for other situations such as “Tips for Family Life” and even “Tips on Nights out with Sisters”. I was very pleased to have the opportunity to read and review this book and recommend it as a light-hearted read.

The tale of what happens when Janet Jackson {NO! Not that Janet Jackson} decides to covert her 'annexe' {read her garage} into a Bed and Breakfast ... albeit one that after the first guests to stay does not serve breakfast for as Janet explains 'I know its not really a B&B. Its self-catering, but S&C doesn't have quite the same je ne sais quoi as B&B' Pg 101

From Janet, a woman of a certain age, who I readily related to, to Chloe {Janet's daughter} who is largely your typical teen, to Maureen {Janet's sister} who is, Hmm! Let's just leave it as that Maureen is definitely one of life's characters, to the visitors who stay at the B&B, I have to say I enjoyed ALL of the characters immensely as whilst OTT {some of them more so than others} they were always believably so.

Hugely entertaining, its chapters sharp and snappy which suited the diary-like entries perfectly. Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B is a wonderfully warm, witty, emotive, dramatic, well observed study of human nature that is written in such a way that we, the reader, feel as if we have been welcomed into Janet's home to have a right good gossip about not just the latest visitors to stay at Lavander House {yes, Lavender is spelt incorrectly but then 'Lavandar with an a gives it an edge, a little touch of uniqueness' Pg 4 ... or at least Janet thinks so} but also about Janet's life in general; her family, friends, colleagues, nosey neighbour, Maureen's latest manfriends, its all in there.

Oh and then there's the wonderful addition of the homespun wisdom on everything from Tips On Family Life {'Avoid ex-husbands living on your drive if at all possible' Pg 106} to Tips For Running A B&B {'Don't get emotionally involved with the guests, remember they are paying for B&B only. Not therapy' Pg 130} through to Tips On A Teenage Daughter {'Accept your daughter/s will have sex. Its horrendous to contemplate. Sorry. I don't know how else to prepare you.' Pg 147} that ends each chapter.

A book that has you thinking 'just one more chapter' whilst knowing that you are going to finish it all too soon, I sooo hope we are going to hear more, much more from Janet.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this one, don’t get me wrong the writing is good, it reads almost like a diary written by the main character Janet Jackson. There are some really laugh out loud moments that make it an entertaining and uplifting read. Janet has an annexe on her house and decides to make it into a B&B even though she has no idea how to run a B&B and to be honest her first customers it was a bit of a disaster as Janet found herself getting up so early to cook breakfasts which was really wasted. So her teenage daughter Chloe suggests she just does it as self catering.

Janet works in a dentists, as well as keeping the house clean and tidy, supporting her daughter, and her sister who just takes from her all the time. Maureen is quite a character, always looking for love and meeting the wrong men who are either married or just not right.

Janet never seems to stop, it’s either work, or the B&B when last minute guests turn up, or she is cleaning her own house, or running Chloe or Maureen somewhere. Her love life has been non existent for several years since her and her husband Franklin split up. Her sister had dated a guy named Peter Crouch no not the footballer, she tells Janet he is interested in her. Initially Janet ignores it but… is he right for her, is she just settling?

Some of the guests are quite amusing, some are just downright rude and messy but I’m guessing you get that in most business’s. At the end of each chapter Janet writes herself tips on each guest. So she knows in the future what to say yes and no to.

My feelings are more about Janet as a character, I just felt she was put on by everyone and they walked all over her, I wanted her to just tell them all to sort themselves out and help a bit more, after all they are living for free and Janet is struggling financially. There was one part in the book where I thought she was going to blow, she did slightly but I think I would have just lost control and gone on strike. Even her ex husband turns up after his girlfriend passed away and he wanted to move into the annexe luckily she did say no, but he still spent time in the house again contributing nothing as he had no job.

But if you just take Janet at face value maybe I see a bit of myself in there along with many women who just can’t say no, because if you do you feel guilty.

So if you are thinking of running a B&B read this book first, make sure you have set boundaries such as no smoking in the property, no dogs. There was a lot of humour and lightheartedness in there, Will Janet ever find love again. I have to say they all ate a lot, and Maureen knew how to down the wine. If you are looking for a light hearted book give this one a try.

You never know what the next guests will be like, but no matter what Janet tries to make them feel welcome. The Croatians part made me laugh as both Janet and Maureen check the house whilst they are working. Bringing in fresh towels etc. so many memorable characters, from all walks of life.

Engaging, entertaining read, with some good characters. Sometimes this is the type of book we need to read to just chill and have a giggle. A great debut novel I look forward to whatever comes next from Becky Papworth.

Janet Jackson's Yorkshire B&B

By

Becky Papworth

Rating:5/5

Description:

Dental receptionist and Yorkshire lass Janet Jackson (no, not that one) has just turned her garage into a Bed & Breakfast - and without any experience at all, is now awaiting her very first guests. What can possibly go wrong? Helped by sulky teenage daughter Chloe and hindered by sex-mad sister Maureen, Janet lurches from one crisis to another, relying on her Yorkshire wit and wisdom to get her through with her bank balance, her love-life and her sanity intact. A word of warning: if you've ever dreamed of running a B&B read this book and, like Janet, you'll probably do it anyway.

Review:

👉Talking about the title of the book, the title of the book is really so interesting to read.

👉The cover is appealing and attractive as well.Writing style is appreciable .Yorkshire young lady and dental secretary Janet Jackson has really faced a colossal test. Using each and every piece of her undertaking holds, she's changed her large parking space into a Casual housing, slapped a sign on it and with no thought with all, is in the long run searching for her all around first guests. With a grouchy high schooler young lady and a crazy sister to battle with she's at this point got her work cut out. The trouble she after a short time finds, is that guests have lamentable activities, disturbing pets and perpetual demands.Throughout the book there are little tips on the best strategy for running your very own B&B, this one broke me up;'Don't be extremely empowered with the additional things. The guests could return for them'.These tips are absolutely perfect and may give you ideasof starting your own for the current boardinghouse, it produces an impression of being all you truly need is a parking space and a respectable disposition! Goodness and Wi-Fi!'Is it terrible worth the work?

Wow! What a book! I am in love with the book

👉I just loved reading the book ...

Being from Yorkshire, I had to get this book and read it after seeing the title and reading the description. Seeing mentions of places I know and have been to myself had me connect with the story even more.

I had to smile at the character’s name being Janet Jackson, the same name as the famous singer and yes it does get brought up in the story which made me laugh. I loved Janet on meeting her although I did get annoyed with how she lets people walk all over her. It’s never nice seeing someone being taken advantage of. She is far to nice for her own good. She lives with her sister Maureen as well as her daughter Chloe. Both run rings around her although Chloe at least does come in useful when it comes to getting the B&B up and running and was impressed at how good a business head she has on young shoulders.

If you have ever dreamed of running a B&B, you may well think differently after reading Janet’s experience. I love how you get to see things from the business side of things and the different types of guests who come and stay. I felt for Janet when she had guests who didn’t give two hoots about leaving the place in a mess. When you have a quick turn around and doing everything yourself, I was knackered on behalf of poor Janet!

Janet Jackson’s Yorkshire B&B is a fun and light hearted read set in a great part of England. It’s the story of one woman’s determination to follow through with something she has wanted to do for herself. Janet learns a lot from her new venture, not just about the B&B side of things but about herself and what she wants out of life. It makes for a highly entertaining read and I can’t wait to see what this debut author brings her readers next!

Having converted the garage/annex into a B&B, Janet decides to take a leap and advertise it. Throw in a colourful array of guests, noisy neighbours, planning enquiries, running her own household with teenager Chloe, her free spirited sister Maureen, her daily job as a dental receptionist and Janet is going rushed off her feet. With no experience in managing a B&B how will Janet cope.

This was such a fun, short and quirky book. From the beginning I was thrown into Janet’s world where she’s converted her garage/annex into a B&B but hasn’t taken that step into the world of providing accommodation to visitors. Janet’s world from the outset is truly chaotic but was also funny and memorable to be in. At the same time she’s dealing with the B&B she’s dealing with her daughter Chloe who is a typical teenager and her sister Maureen who is probably one of the most unique characters I’ve ever met. One thing is for sure I wouldn’t want to be in Janet’s position and don’t think I could run a B&B or deal with the issues that Janet has to deal with. Initially Janet’s first booking doesn’t really go to plan and she questions whether or not this is something she wants to do but instead of giving up she carries on and makes her B&B a success. Having and running the B&B is definitely new to Janet and she’s still trying to find her feet. At times it did feel like Chloe and Maureen didn’t appreciate how much Janet was dealing with and everything felt like it was on Janet’s shoulders, until they started to help out. Janet was quite a quirky character. I loved how she intended to call the B&B Lavender Cottage but then when she realises that the name is spelt wrong on the business cards she decides to change the name of the cottage to Lavander Cottage. I really liked that the chapters were short and punchy. In each chapter we are given an insight into what is happening in Janet’s personal life but also we learn more about the B&B guests, some of whom were perfect guests and some who were a complete nightmare.

A light hearted and fun read!

Do you have what it takes to run a B & B?

Firstly, in the beginning, the pacing was accelerated and I found myself having difficulty keeping up with Janet as it seemed disjointed.  Even so, this book was a pleasure to read and included a great deal of humor and pragmatic parts.  Particularly in regards to the overall eclectic mix of guests at Lavander (yes, Lavander not Lavender) Cottage.  I won't spoil it for you as far as how the cottage got its misspelled name but it was a great hook and kept me turning the pages.

In addition, I enjoyed the author's use of tips from Janet at the end of each chapter. It was a pleasant chapter wrap-up and a comical reminder that Janet truly is trying her best to run a B&B.

"Tips for running a B&B.  Think carefully about the name of your B & B.  Remember spellcheck is a thing."

Overall, I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys humor with a side of chaos.  Especially those who are thinking about opening their own B&B. 😉

Read this book if you like: Single parent trope, strong side characters, lighthearted reads

Dental receptionist and single mom Janet Jackson has just turned her garage into a Bed & Breakfast. She has no experience at all and is now awaiting her very first guests. Helped by sulky teenage daughter Chloe and hindered by sex-mad sister Maureen, Janet lurches from one crisis to another. She's relying on her Yorkshire wit and wisdom to get her through with her bank balance, her love-life and her sanity intact.

This read was cute, funny, and lighthearted. I do think that Janet really needed to stand up for herself. That bothered me. I needed her to snap on someone. 🤣 I can't take pushovers. I like the aspect her making lists at the end of each chapter. Her sister was hilarious. It's a good read and debut. Definitely recommend it!

Thank you to the author and Rachel's Random Resources for the gifted book!

This is a lighthearted, humorous book in which the reader really gets to know the protagonist. Janet's life is full of ups and downs and mini dramas and she spends her time juggling work, the B an B, love and her somewhat demanding family. Most chapters end with a tip for running a B and B and a tip for life. Although I didn't identify with Janet I warmed to her easily, but was in awe of her capacity to clean, cook, work and keep her family and business afloat. I am not sure my patience would have coped with a sponging sister and lazy daughter! I am not a fan of overly humorous books as I find them somewhat cringey, but this one was well written and genuinely funny without going overboard. The plot gently meanders through a year or so of Janet's life and the ending is satisfying. It's a lovely, gentle read and I would recommend it if you need some cheering up and escapism.

I don't do book reviews

I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.
My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.
If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I give
If the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.
Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away.
Some of the books I read have been given to me by the author as a pre-release copy and this does not bias my reviews in any way

A Good Read

Janet Jackson (yes really) is divorced with a teenage daughter and a sister who lives with Janet and contributes little in either money or helping around the house. To earn extra, Janet turns her garage into a small cottage and lets it out as a holiday let, but it is early days. To make matters worse, her ex husband is back on the scene as he is homeless and jobless. With so many people depending on her while she is trying to make ends meet and starting a new life, hopefully with a little romance in it, Janet is desperate to make the holiday letting business work. I enjoyed the book, at times it made me laugh but I did wish she did not let herself be used as a door mat so much.

I apologise for the posting a day late, but I got caught up in the events of yesterday and completely forgot.

Highly entertaining, laugh out loud funny and lighthearted. I finished the book last night and it was a much needed pick me up.

Janet Jackson was nothing like her famous namesake, instead we had single mother/dental receptionist Janet and she was such an adorable character.

We warmth on such a journey with Janet as her drama of running her own B & B came to fruition.

I hope this isn't the last we hear from Ms Jackson as I would need interested in getting to know her more.

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.
