Sherilee Gray is a kiwi girl and lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband and their two children. When she isn't writing sexy contemporary and paranormal romance, searching for her next alpha hero on Pinterest, or fueling her voracious book addiction, she can be found dreaming of far off places with a mug of tea in one hand and a bar of chocolate in the other.
Stopped reading at 75%. The first and second books were ok a little too much whining of the lead males constantly saying they are not worthy of the female. Not sure exactly why the male in the first book didn't just explain what the *mating* process meant and let her make her choice, why all the whining about wanting to make her your mate instead?? The second book was similar to the first except the male didn't whine about mating instead he constantly flipped from wanting her to not wanting her although I found I liked the story line of the second book better. Was a little offended at how helpless the Angels were portrayed in this book while the demons had so much power. I started on the third but couldn't finish as I'm not interested in reading about bisexual males, my preference and it seemed like more of the same, another male whining about a female he wants but thinks he cannot have because he's not worthy Yada Yada done with this series.
Okay so There is a difference between the books, in how sexual they become. Which also makes sense, since we are working with different demon types. However that makes the third book seem more like an erotica than a paranormal romance. I like the issues the demons/ the knights are fighting. And it is often their sexuality / sexual desires. Which again makes sense since they are carrying demons with them.
The language is easy however it can be a bit hard to follow the mechanics behind their demons. Like why does zen have his issues, or why does Brent have his. These gaps makes it sometimes seem like the story lacks something. I would wish the author spend a bit more time on explaining the mechanics behind their power. Or their needs. (Specifically zen, but also what is it that chay does, and what about Brent, there is some explanation but I still have tons of questions)
Definitely know your triggers before going into this series. Book 1, you meet Eve and Lazarus. He doesn't think he's worthy of a mate as he got his friends mate killed. Fairly tame in the dark stuff for this story.
Book 2, Mia and Zenon. Zenon is an angle from hell but was kept as a s*x slave. He can't stand to be touched by anyone . Lots of dark themes in their story
Book 3. More and more dark themes in this book with Chaya, Mia's sister, and Brent, who is part Incubus . Brent owns a s*x club and escaping a very dark past.
Again, know your triggers before reading these. I will definitely read more from this series.
Wow! I really did not see that coming! Don't put it down! I promise! It's not wht you think it is! I seriously thought I had this book figured out from the beginning! BOY WAS I WRONG!!! LOL
