Living on the dread world of Protheka is bad. But after being stolen from it, I thought my life was over. The demons love to kill and torture. That's what I thought was in store for me. But Kha’zeth shows me that's not the case. He has a firm hand and a gentle heart.
And can soothe me and make me combust all at once.
But when his carefully guarded secrets come out, I flee his home. I can't take the heartbreak again. I picked wrong men in the past who hurt me. This time could kill me.
Only Kha’zeth won't give up on me.
He won’t give any other demon a chance to take me. He won’t let me go. Because he will never let anything or anyone hurt his woman. And more importantly.
Hurt his unborn child.
Author's Note: This is a full length fantasy monster romance featuring a human woman and demon warrior. It has a HEA!
Celeste King is the author behind the Worlds of Protheka, a collection of interconnected series that promise dark fantasy, intense romance, and washboard abs. When it comes to her stories, there are sure to brooding alphas, sassy humans, and plenty of spice to look forward to.
With the ever growing fantasy worlds, the 'what ifs' are endless, and that is what excites her the most. Even she doesn't know just how far these characters will go, but she's gladly along for the ride.
You can always find her fearlessly diving into an adventure (in this world or another), typically with her husband, and partner in crime, at her side.
She helps keep the excitement alive for the rest us with each of her Prothekan works, where there are no heroes coming to save you and being kidnapped...isn't so bad when your captor is this hot.
Ok, so far (reading these in order) this has been my least fave. Simply because I didn’t feel a connection with either of the MC’s. I found the FMC annoying and the MMC irritating. But that’s just me!! I still enjoyed the plot line, since this series is connected, it’s nice to follow the trail and see how things play out! I’m excited for the next story! - Spice level: 2.5/5.
I must say that Natalie is the most unlikable female in any Protheka book I have read so far. She is always crying about something and acting like a baby. I tried to feel sorry for her, I really did, but she is just too annoying. Kha'zeth is a soz'garoth demon. The king has ordered him to take one of the human females retrieved from Protheka and breed her. As if he didn't have enough female problems with the three nieces that he is raising. The human was dirty, half starved and always crying. Ugh. He had no other choice than to follow the king's directive, but it wasn't going to be easy. He wasn't even sure the female could talk and she didn't seem at all grateful to have her own room, with an attached washroom, and food to eat. It isn't until he puts her in the tub and begins scrubbing her himself, that he gets her to speak. His chaos magic is obviously scaring her but her cowering only makes him angrier, causing his magic to churn around him. How will he ever get her in bed with him?

This is a amazing book and my favorite thus far and the main characters that are from different worlds but are perfect together. Natalie finally thought she found a dark elf that treats her well when he is killed by demons who capture all the human females who where traded and betrayed by Laura for a better deal for herself to the Demon king Asmodeus who wants to save his people from dying out by breeding the humans. Prince Kha’zeth is a Chaos Demon warrior who has been told be his Demon King to take a human to breed with to help populate his people as there numbers are dwindling down but he was chosen because there are triplets in his family and will produce more children. Kha’zeth is not happy about having to take a human because they are to him nothing more than animals but when he takes Natalie he realises she has been made to be like an animal but she is so much more and he finds himself starting to have feelings for her and he noticed she is not afraid anymore and is getting on really well with his sister teenage triplets after she died and left them to him. How does it all turn out and do they get there HEA and do they fall pregnant and keep the King happy.

Natalie's life hasn't been easy. She has been a slave and badly abused by the dark elves. When she finally finds a dark elf who seems to care for her and protect her, he is killed by a demon in front of her. Now she is trapped in a cage and waiting to find out what the demons will do to her. When she is dragged out of her cage, she is given to a demon prince to be used as broodmare to breed more demons. Natalie is terrified of the demons but as she gets to know Kha'zeth she realizes that it might not be as bad as she thought.
Kha'zeth is a chaos demon who has plenty of chaos at home. His sister died, leaving him the guardian of her three teenaged triplets. If that isn't bad enough now his king wants him to breed with a human woman because the demon population has been shrinking. Kha'zeth has always thought of humans as more like animals than sentient beings. At first Natalie seems to be proving him right but he soon learns that she had been trained to act that way by cruel demons. Kha'zeth would love to give her time to get over her fear but the king is demanding results.

I am reading this series and enjoying the storylines. Each book is about a different warrior or Prince. The King has asked all his sons and decorated warriors to take one of the human females to build his new army. This son is Kha’zeth and he is alpha but so thoughtful and respectful. He recognizes that he is not the favorite son, but still has to do the King’s bidding so that he can rise up in the ranks. The King gives him Natalie and Kha’zeth doesn’t want her nor anything to do with the newly acquired human females. I am a fan of Kha’zeth but not Natalie. Her actions are unbelievable to me and she is immature. Kha’zeth’s respectful nature saved this book for me. It’s a stand alone but it’s advantageous to start at the beginning for the world building. Read On!
Another enjoyable Protheka story that's about a human slave, Natalie and Kha'zeth a demon. Natalie a captured human is dragged from her cage and given to Kha'zeth who was ordered by his King to breed with a human. Kha'zeth is raising his nieces, Tanulia, Valindra and Elincia who are a handful, so having to take a human is the last thing he wants. What occurs between Natalie who's is a sniveling human morning the loss of her Dark Elf lover and Kha'zeth who wonders if Natalie is the worst of the lot and possibly mute was a good enjoyable story that I received a copy and that I volunteer to read and review.
Natalie was kidnapped with a bunch of other human women by demons who descended upon Protheka. They need human women to breed with to increase their dying population.
Natalie is frightened of Kha'zeth, the warrior demon who took her to be his mate. A few misunderstanding cause Natalie to try to escape and Kha'zeth has to prove that he is trustworthy.
This was a good paranormal romance with great world building. The secondary characters were interesting as well, especially the twins. Enjoyable series and interesting plot idea.

Kha’zeth (H), a demon warrior, has been ordered by his king to take a human for breeding to increase the demon population. Natalie (h) is terrified of the demons after they killed her dark elf lover and imprisoned her in harsh conditions. Kha’zeth is so lovely as he keeps trying to understand Natalie and treat her with kindness, but her fears cause her to misinterpret many of his actions. The is my favorite book in the Demons of Protheka (so far) showing a progression in the way that some of the demons view and treat humans.
I loved this book. The Demons of Protheka series is fascinating, and I love getting to experience more of it. Great world building and wonderful characters. Demon Kha'zeth absolutely won my heart and was my favorite character. I loved his personality. Natalie was okay of a heroine, certainly not my favorite, but then as horrible things happen to human women in Protheka, I can't always expect the best of them all the time lol I loved Kha'zeth's triplet nieces. They certainly kept things interesting. A fun, enjoyable read. 5 stars.
4 stars on the story but 3 stars bc the fmc is so weird.
I know she went thru massive trauma and the mc was a jerk to her at the start. But she was just a weirdo. Hiding under beds and shit? Sorry. Just weird. Not talking at all? Nope. Then it shifts and all of a sudden she is talking and has a back bone? Nope. Zero chemistry bt the two as well. Low on spicy too. Just wasn’t my favorite at all from the series. It’s me not you sis. It just didn’t work for me.

I didnt like Natalie I thought she was very judgmental and quick to condemn ppl before knowing everything. I get it she's been through alot but again she thinks she knows almost all while knowing very little. Not saying the King wasnt going to give the other women away, but I feel like her at times petulant insistence about the women. I think their fate came that much sooner and I feel like alot of them are going to be much worse off then what they were... 😐
I loved this book! The only thing that I didn’t like was Natalie’s nagging and constant crying! She was really annoying. She was still thinking about her ex 70 percent into the book! 😩
Good audiobook loved the male voice narrator. Very predictable but as so with a retelling. I enjoyed the ride but wouldn't read again. This was like a snack instead of a filling meal lol. Not bad.
It's giving beauty and the beast vibes but with a demon falling for his human pairing made by the king and with a house fill with three noise nieces who I personally loved. This was a great read with loads of romance and drama that had me cheering them on till the end. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
