She’s looking for a lasting relationship. He’s running from his commitments. Can these two friends become lovers?

Kindergarten teacher Serafina Bianchi loves her students and wants children of her own, so when her boyfriend dumps her, she dives into the world of online dating. But after a few disastrous encounters, she realizes she needs a dating coach if she plans to land a husband! And who could better train her in what men want in a woman than her lifelong friend, the suave billionaire Logan Stone?

CEO Logan Stone is decisive in the boardroom, but noncommittal in relationships. With his negligent upbringing before his adoption, he’ll never have the perfect marriage his parents have, and the upcoming Stone family reunion he’s planning in their small town constantly reminds him of what he lacks.

When Serafina asks him to coach her to be the perfect date, Logan agrees, but only if she’ll help plan the reunion. Neither expects their fake dates to stir up real feelings. But maybe he’s taught her too well—now that he’s the one falling for her.

She’s seen him dump one too many women, and he's afraid he can’t be the guy she needs. Can their friendship survive a romance?

Serafina and Logan were best friends since they were children.
Serafina was trying to find a suitable man, since she wasn’t having any luck with her previous dates, as to get married and have children.
Logan always broke up with his dates and didn’t care for commitment.
I found peculiar that Serafina went to Logan for dating advice. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The pace was slow, the storyline was too verbose. There was no point in spending so many pages with Logan’s business’s day agenda!
Also, there were a lot of repetitions. Always helping the homeless, participating in charities, very involved with christian actions.
Sometimes it was hard to figure out which character was speaking...

Couldn’t hold my interest.

Once I realized it was a Christian book I should have stopped. Zero steam. Like she talks about only kissing someone she wants to marry. Whole lot of God talk. Just not for me.

Publication date: January 10, 2023.

This follows two best friends since young - Serafina, a kindergarten teacher, and Logan, a multi-million corporation CEO. After hopelessly looking for dates via a dating app, Sera sought help from her best friend to be her dating coach to get her into the game in exchange for helping to plan the annual Stone reunion.

The chapters are longer than what I’m used to - approx. 15 minutes per chapter, but I couldn’t put it down; I loved Serafina and Logan. They didn’t have the wild fire relationship/chemistry evident in other books; they depicted more of a slice of life. The idea of being in love with your best friend and that he/she is perfect for you slowly seeped into their everyday lives and every wandering thought. I think I prefer such relationship with realistic portrayal than those wham-bam i-love-yous.

Both protagonists are avid Christians and their religious beliefs are brought into every other chapter of this book. This didn’t bother me as a non-Christian and freethinker but I thought it’s good to note.

Family is also another huge topic in this book. The forgiveness and loss, and how Logan’s family treated her like their own, going far and beyond when Serafina was in need. I loved that. Especially since most of them had troubled childhood and difficulties with their parents.

Overall, I'm glad that I'm someone who literally judges a book by its cover only half the time because I would have given this book a miss; the cover doesn't justify the good story behind it. Definitely will be purchasing a physical copy to satisfy the book-hoarder in me.

Trigger warning: hints of child abuse.

Many thanks to Hidden Gems for this amazing advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest, uncensored opinion.

Serafina and Logan both had dysfunctional family backgrounds but it effected them in different ways - she was desperate to be in a good relationship and marriage so she would get what she missed out on, he NEVER wanted to get married for fear of it being like his birth parents. After yet another date fail, Serafina asks Logan to be her dating coach despite his history of quick turnover relationships - most of which ended over Logan's girlfriend being upset about his relationship with Serafina! Can both get over their fears to get the HEA they both want? I received an ARC but this review is my own.

This is a well written friends to lovers story with strong characters in Logan and Serafina. The author does a great job developing their story and taking them from friends to so much more. She brings humor along with the romance as they discover their deeper feelings. The story moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Serafina Bianchi is a kindergarten teacher at Finlay Elementary in San Francisco, California.
Friends since childhood with Logan Stone.
Securing dates via a dating app is not proving successful.
Who better to be her dating coach than Logan?

Logan Stone is the CEO of an international billion-dollar financial company.
Friends since childhood with Serafina Bianchi.
Securing dates has always been easy until a woman becomes clingy and issues the "Serafina Ultimatum."
There’s one woman Logan can’t refuse even if she asks him to be her dating coach.

What a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance! I loved this duo from the first pages of introduction. Character development is well written, providing an understanding of their longstanding friendship, commitment to their careers, dating history, shared activities, and what each of them thinks their future might hold. Commitment to their faith shines throughout the storyline and beautifully illustrates meaningful faith-based lives.

Interesting but only 3.5 stars

3.5 stars
The story was just OK. I felt like the book was a little too repetitive about the good deeds they were doing. For instance, always mentioning they bought extra food at restaurants to give to homeless people out on the streets. Always mentioning all the charities and things they did for others out of pocket. Always highlighting the great selfless qualities the other MC had. It started to just feel self-righteous.

The main story was pretty good. It’s no wonder neither of them could ever have relationships with other people with how much they were in each other’s pockets all the time. So both acted like they were a couple even though it took a while for the romance to come in.

Rating: PG, clean and wholesome. Just a little kissing. Discussions of homeless, addiction, death of family, loss, physical and emotional abuse in the family.

it was good but…

The ending it was ruin it for me yes I know they got engaged but it wasn’t from Logan or Serafina point of view and honestly it it’s there story I 100 think it should be point of view but however throughout the story it kept me interested but then it lost me toward the ending I wanted more engagement with the characters it basically was family and friends where with them when they where together we go no actually dates when they where exclusively together we just go oh Logan here and then we got the breakup where they where alone then we got when they got back together before a meeting and then the epilogue that wasn’t even in there point of view it was more of another character saying oh we are the next book go read. That really made me lose interest in this series it would I recommend probably not

such a sweet tale

Sera and Logan have been friends since childhood. They would do anything for each other. This is a sweet tale of friendship going romantic with all the twists and turns. I loved the family dynamic, Sera’s reunion with her mom and her adventures with the kids. I gave this three stars because about a quarter of the way in, the story seemed to bog down. It seemed to reiterate the same point over and over again, almost to the point of boredom. I like descriptive text but not to the point this story had. It seemed to be filled with descriptions that had no point to the story and I found myself skimming over a lot of it. The last 4 chapters were VERY good, the storyline itself was original and the characters well defined. Just need to lose some of the quicksand descriptive text. This is my first time reading this author and may give her another chance.

I enjoyed this story about Logan and Serafina, close friends since childhood who were struggling finding eligible people to marry. Logan had a fear of commitment, so none of his relationships lasted. Sera seemed to pick the wrong men, even though most of them had attributes found on her "list". Logan cared for Sera above and beyond the role of "friend". I especially loved how he called and treated for her mother when it really counted. He was a "prince" of a friend but felt unworthy to date Sera because of his failed relationships.
While the book was a little predictable at times and unrealistic at other times, it was truly enjoyable with all the ups and downs of this friends-to-more couple! I especially loved Logan's parents who were so warm and authentic!

Wonderful Inspirational Romance

I have read several of Rose Fresquez’s books, and they just keep getting better. This sweet inspirational romance helps readers realize important truths, such as we are loved by God and God should be the center of relationships.
Rose always depicts heroines who model Christ-like behavior. Of course, they still have flaws and grow as characters throughout the story.
If you are looking for a modern day Cinderella story with an inspirational twist, then this is the perfect book for you.
Roses’s books are like potato chips. You can’t just read one. Pick up the series and follow along with this delightful family and see how different members find their true loves.

Friends or something more

Serafina and Logan have been friends since they were children. Bonded together by traumatic childhoods they’ve always been there for each other and inseparable as adults. However, when Serafina asked Logan to act as her dating coach after several bad dating experiences, romantic feelings start to awaken in both of them.

I was not a fan of Serafina’s indecisive, nature and poor decision making. She also had unrealistic expectations on her list of qualifications for a romantic partner/husband.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the friends to lovers genre.

Enjoyable

These two were definitely in love with each other but did not realise it for a while. The bond was too tight. Great read it would have had a five star if it had a bit more conflict. Their childhood history was a bit overdone as well. Fresquez shows and then feels the need to tell a bit All in all it was a great read coz it dominated my Saturday and went through the book quite quickly. Looking forward to Iris and Sebastian and what would happen with Vanessa in the future .

A new author for me. I enjoyed this read about Logan and Serafina. They have been friends from childhood. Both come from a traumatic past regarding their childhoods. Logan was adopted and had his own fears. Serafina became a kindergarten teacher. She adores children and can’t wait to have children of her own. She’s dumped and decides to try online dating be abuse she wants to be married and have children. When that doesn’t seem to be going well she decides to talk to Logan, her lifelong friend and billionaire.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Serafina Bianchi, a kindergarten teacher, wants to find the perfect husband, but keeps striking out with the men she dates. Her friend convinces her she needs a dating coach and the best one for the job is her lifelong friend and billionaire Logan Stone. Logan is against relationships and not interested in getting married, but when feelings spark between the two, interesting things happen. An interesting and uplifting book that also takes a look at the foster care system.

Serafina and Logan's story is great with relatable problems. I loved how Logan was willing to be there for Serafina and even takes on being her dating coach; way above what a best friend would do even if it is needed. I also like how Serafina would do little things in return for him and how they both play off each other; it was great she could ask for dating help. The writing is really good and the teaser to the next book is incorporated to let the reader know there can be a next book but still gives an ending. Overall a great story.

Rose Fresquez has brought us a good start to her Billionaires Reunion series with this story. This book is the story of Logan and Serafina. They have been friends from childhood. Both had rough childhoods before Logan was adopted. When Serafina asks Logan to be her dating coach he doubts his ability to be of help. Will the coaching and practice dating open their eyes to what others have been seeing all along?

I thoroughly enjoyed Logan and Sera’s story. I am a sucker for best friends falling in love or rather realizing they loved each other on a deeper level than friendship. So glad they took the plunge into the next level and happy they got their happily ever after! Rose continues to draw me into her story from the first couple of pages. Looking forward to reading more from the family in this series and hopeful for updates on Logan and Sera as we go along.

BBF to forever love

A gentle sweet book A pleasure to read. Likeable character. Good friendships.
Not so keen on the constant mention of his wealth and the power it gave him to influence people’s lives. Eg running background checks on people she might date. This seemed to be straying into illegal.
I enjoyed this book and looked forward to picking it up at end of day. Will definitely read more.

I so enjoyed the story line right up to the epilogue. Then it sorta stopped and the next book was set up. Kind of bummed me out. Don't want to put in any spoilers but... the characters just get back together and now it's done. Oh well. I know there's several in the series & IF I read more I will probably see them again. My pet peeve is repetition of previous books information though so not sure if I will. I have 2nd booked in cue for next read.

I enjoyed the characters, but much of the plot involving Italy was superfluous. It did nothing to drive the plot line, and actually confused me as to why that whole portion of the book was included. To show off the author’s knowledge of Italian geography? To show how wealthy Logan’s character is?

I would have loved to see more growth in these characters. They went from feeling pretty multidimensional to falling flat by the end.

Heartwarming story

I really liked the characters in this story. I like that having a relationship with God was important to them. I got a little frustrated, though, with them doubting themselves so much, but was glad they eventually resolved their doubts. Very realistic, though.

An okay romance read that was too detailed at a times and left you guessing when it shouldn't have been.
A friends-to-lovers story that was clean and a bit spiritual.
I was given a free copy of this book from Hidden Arcs and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fantastic Book!

The joy of seeing friends stay so close. Sera and Logan have been friends since they were young. For a period of a few years, they lost touch with each other. Logan was able to reconnect with Sera. You must read this book to get the enjoyment and exciting story of their friendship.

Such a good clean sweet read. We need more books like this. Logan and Sera are best friends and realize they have feelings for each other. This book describes leaving our comfort zone, always turning to God when things are difficult, praying together. A good read that you can fall in love and sex isn’t involved before marriage. No language, just a good clean romance.

A typical friends to lovers plot, with no romance to speak of, only a man who just realized his best friends had lips and curves, and a woman who realized her best friend had broad shoulders! That’s not romance for me. Of course that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the non “romantic“ parts, I liked the eventful pace, and that there wasn’t overdone preaching, and of course the happy ending.
