This book was so good. The was a coming of age story of a high school crew. The haves and the have nots on a smaller scale. I loved the friendship between Stacey, Blue and Dominique. It's a story of identity, loyalty and heart mixed with the beginnings of first love and life's choices. There was a lot going on but the pacing was nice. The story flowed it and did not feel cluttered. I loved the parents coming together. I just liked the story.

I was stuck screaming, RRRAAAAYYYYYYY! The end made me stand up from my desk. It is a cliff hanger so beware.

Enjoyed…

I am really a huge fan of Blue and Jason 😩. I think they are a cute couple that deserve to be together, even though said couple hasn’t realized it lol. The sisterly bond between Blue, Dom, and Stacey is what’s up. Great job Z. Can’t wait to read book two.

Great Debut!

When you’re young, poor choices and bad decision-making are to be expected. But when the consequences of those choices result in some very adult-like situations, that’s where it gets complicated. What started out as a cute coming of age story...got very real, quick, fast and in a hurry for Blue, Stacey, Dominique, and Jason. And only time will tell if the lure of the streets that infiltrated their innocence will prove to be the one obstacle that not everyone in their lives will recover from! With a cliff-hanger ending that will leave the reader anticipating what will happen next, this was a well developed story, and nicely done for the author’s first release.

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

It was an vast joy to read this! The talent exhibited throughout this novel does not suggest the book is a debut novel. Reading stories about young love always remind me of summer love, summer fairs, and sneaking around. Zakiya is well on her way to wowing the masses and having a bestselling series.

This Girl !

First I need to bop Zakiya up side her head for how she ended this book. There were several other places where she could have said to be continued 😀. The characters were well written but the suttle hints were not necessary. For a first book it kept my attention and I’m looking forward to what’s next for Blue and the crew j

excellent

While reading this, I got ALL the feels! I love that I was able to grow with the characters, from middle to high school. I witnessed them encounter everyday problems and handle them realistically. The writing is simply SUPERB! I’m hooked! Please please please build your catalog! I need more, ASAP.

story was so goooood. the book takes place over several years and you really feel yourself watching the characters grow up. descriptions of feelings, and first time experiences were spot-on, making it super relatable. ends with a cliffhanger, will definitely be reading the second book soon.

Good Story

This was a good story. Blue and Jason were cute. I loved how Stacey and Blue became best friends so quickly. The kids were always into something and it is amazing how much freedom they had. I can’t wait to read the follow up story for Blue and Jason.

Based on the info on the first page I thought I was reading a book that would go through at least 10 years. They start at 12 and the book finishes with them at 16.

Not a based story but I think this is meant for teenage readers.
