Comme je le craignais dans le tome 1, on ne parles pas du tout ici de Trouble Dissociatif de l'Identité. Pire on a une explication merdique à la fin. Du grand n'importe quoi. C'est vraiment dommage, parce que le dessin est chouette. Parce que c'était l'occasion même d'offrir une visibilité à un Trouble dont on ne parle pas assez et jamais de façon réaliste, et finalement bah c'est exactement ce que fait cette série là aussi. Bref je suis super déçue.

If you were going to do a story that was NOT ABOUT DID, please DO NOT use DID as a resource or bait.
The plot twist is they were actually sextuplets that fused and, I quote, "they are LITERALLY different people". In itself, it's not a bad idea... if ONLY this was clarified at the very beginning that this is NOT related to DID at all.
With so much disinformation about DID, you have to be more careful about confusing people. After all, sextuplets fusing and having six personalities in one person is not actually real. But DID is, and it seems you used DID info for your story.

this was… disappointing.
i loved the first one so much, but the way that this talked about how she developed DID was… rough. i understand that there is a lot of misinformation about dissociate identity disorder, and some people don’t even believe it exists, BUT if you’re going to write about it, you could at least do more research.

As someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder, I was blown away by the amazing representation in the first volume of this series. It perfectly encapsulated the confusion and the worry of discovering the diagnosis and all that comes with it, but also the awe and appreciation of what a brain does to try to protect itself. The first volume was wonderful and it was the best piece of DID media I have ever consumed.
The second volume started out wonderful! The descriptions of inner worlds, all the different types of alters and roles they filled, even the friends being slightly suspicious of why their friend was acting different all of a sudden - all of those things were absolutely perfect and made me feel so seen. From the artist's work and the intentional changes of the hair color to even how the story let them make their inner world what they needed (even if someone else created it another way), was yet another thing that this author got absolutely right.
However, in the last few pages, it went from a wonderful story portraying a stigmatized mental health issue in a way that made it easy to digest and understand, to a sci-fi plot line that disregarded the disorder that the past 90 pages, and entire other volume, had been alluding to. I was very let down and disappointed at the plot twist and something that made me feel so seen twisted into something that yet another person used as a plot device to get to a different kind of story.
The reason this is 4 stars is because literally everything up to that point was spot on, and even when two alters went hand in hand in later parts of the story, their hair had streaks of the other alters color in it, portraying co-conciousness or a slight break down of an amnesia barrier. The art was beautiful, it was wonderfully unstigmatized, and the way it made me and my system feel so heard and seen and appreciated is unmatched by any other piece of media up until this point. But I took off a star because of the last few pages that entirely erased everything DID-related up until that point.
I will be reading the next volume because I want to see if this series redeems itself, but as someone who cried tears of joy at the last book, I cried tears of sadness at the end of this one and was heartbroken.
If I didn't have DID, I would think it was a wonderful story, but since I do have the disorder it just seems that a story that was plot point for plot point perfectly summing up the DID experience just to do a bait and switch at the end, made me very let down by this volume.

This is really good. Picked it up at ALA Annual in Chicago because it caught my eye and I’m glad that I did. I will definitely be investing in the full graphic novel. I want to see who the one chained up is and who the man taking pictures outside of her house was. Though I think the mom should have had warning bells going off at hearing that. Creeper taking pictures of her house where an adolescent girl lives. Oh HELL NO. This Mama Bear would have been at the very least calling the cops with his plates and car make/model/color written down and if necessary, going Jersey Crazy on his pervy @ss.

Je dois avouer que je ne sais pas trop quoi en penser..d’un côté j’ai beaucoup aimé ce tome 2 (les dessins, les personnages..) mais j’ai vraiment été déçu par la fin.
J’étais persuadé que c’était une bande dessinée sur le tdi et l’explication que nous avons à la fin sur les 6 personnalités m’a vraiment déçu..C’est dommage, moi qui était contente d’avoir trouvé une œuvre sur le tdi..

La qualité de cette Bd est hallucinante. C’est tellement mon genre de dessin, j’adore! Je paierais cher pour avoir ce talent..
Ici, on retrouve Elle bleue aux commandes alors que ses autres personnalités sont prisonnières chacune dans leur monde. Heureusement que Maëlys est là pour récupérer son amie.

Just as good as the first book. Elle(s) 2 was beautifully illustrated, exciting, and engaging! I love these books and I wish they were out in paperback English.
One more thing I loved was the brief pro-life support. A character’s decision to not abort her baby out of love despite the fact that there was no father to help her and she was 18.
Just in general a great book and I can’t wait for volume 3

Ugh, the first issue was bearable (see review for that issue to know what qualms I had) but this one went really downhill. This really turned a very serious mental illness into a fantasy story. DID is already an illness that is undermined and flooded with disbelief from uneducated people and this story really added fuel to that fire.
The majority of the comic focused on this elaborate adventure through our protagonist’s subconscious and I never once felt like I was reading a story about a mental illness.
And then the ending really blew it for me, it completely discredited the idea of her actually having DID and turned it into some medical phenomenon that was “a first in medical history”? Why?
The strength of this comic was that the author had taken a risk in writing about a young girl with mental health issues (a very taboo one at that) and gave a really under researched mental illness a platform for people to know more about it, but was overshadowed by the fantasy and adventure it was turned into.
I am still obsessed with the art style and I did like the themes of friendship and finding your true self. Either way I really do suggest you give both issues a read if your looking for great art and enjoy a coming of age, typical high school friendship story.

The art was still at the same quality, but the story went off the rails. The explanation of the DID and the main character’s experiences with it were complete sci-fi nonsense. It was a total missed opportunity to have a more accurate portrayal of the condition. While I liked being able to see the different realms in Elle’s mind, it was purely for the art, not for what it was meant to show. It was disappointing, especially when the first one was better.

On découvre pleins de choses sur le monde des six personnalités.
L'alternance des deux mondes (le monde réel, et le "non réel") est super parce que du coup on peut voir comment devient Elle selon sa personnalité.
Bref, il est juste incroyable et j'ai hâte de la sortie du tome 3 en français !

A worthy sequel for sure. We get to learn more about Elle's past and personalities. Elle's friends are just too cute and wholesome, especially Lin!

Elle hat sich mittlerweile gut an der neuen Schule eingelebt und eine Clique gefunden, die sie so akzeptiert wie sie ist. Doch die Ereignisse am Ende von Band 1, haben sie aufgewühlt und irgendetwas stimmt nicht mit ihr. Eigentlich kennen ihre Freunde alle ihre 5 Persönlichkeiten, und doch können sie die aktuelle Elle nicht einordnen.😬
Die Umsetzung mit den verschiedenen Persönlichkeiten durch Farben ist sehr gelungen und eine tolle Idee. So fällt es der Leserschaft leicht, die verschiedenen Persönlichkeiten auseinander zu halten und man verliert nicht den Überblick. Außerdem macht es die Geschichte farbenfroher und lockert somit auf. Da das Thema an sich schon ernster ist.
Optisch ist der Comic ein Genuss, tolle Zeichnungen mit intensiven Farben.😍 Die Illustrationen sprechen oft für sich, sind ausdrucksstark und der Textanteil eher gering gehalten.
Band 1 hat mir schon richtig gut gefallen und Band 2 steht ihm in nichts nach. So widmen wir uns hier noch mehr Elle und ihrem Innenleben. Beschäftigen uns somit noch intensiver mit der Thematik Persönlichkeitsstörung, was mir sehr gefallen hat. Was ich von der Erklärung für diese halten soll, weiß ich noch nicht recht. Ist aber auf jeden Fall ein interessanter Gedanke. Und ich bin gespannt, wie es in Band 3 weiter gehen wird.
Fazit:
Spannend geht die Geschichte um Elle und ihre verschiedenen Persönlichkeiten weiter.
Auch Band 2 ist empfehlenswert aufgrund der ungewöhnlichen Thematik, den liebevoll gezeichneten Charakteren und der umwerfenden Optik.

j’adore vraiment cette BD et j’étais ravie de voir une représentation du TDI aussi sympa, notamment avec le monde intérieur (inner world) et l’illustration des switch. mais la fin de ce 2e tome offre une explication complètement loufoque au trouble dont est atteint le personnage principal. je trouve ça un peu dommage 🥲 si je mets ça de côté, c’est vraiment une super lecture…

En virkelig gennemført flot illustreret tegneserie for teenagere som kan have svært ved at finde ud af hvem de er og hvordan de skal forholde sig til deres mange følelser/personligheder, venner samt hemmeligheder.
Her følger vi den knap så behagelige karakter Blå, som snyder, stjæler og lyver og det er ikke en særlig sød Ella side, som træder frem.
Den var virkelig fængende og tegnet i en streg der straks fanger øjenene. Der er knald på farverne og den er virkelig elegant og tiltalende for øjet.
Er ikke fan af slutningen dog, men generelt en god læseoplevelse.

Band 2 war ab heute in der Onleihe verfügbar und ich habe ihn direkt durchgelesen, weil er so spannend war. Allerdings mochte ich das Ende gar nicht, da der Grund für die DIS einfach nur unlogisch und lächerlich ist. Ja, es wird zwar nie gesagt, dass Elle eine DIS hat, aber es wird immer von „mehreren Persönlichkeiten“ gesprochen, es gibt Wechsel und mehrere Innenwelten, in denen diese Persönlichkeiten leben. Es ist somit eindeutig, dass Elle nur eine DIS haben kann und deshalb hätte ich es schön gefunden, wenn der Autor sich ein bisschen mehr mit den Ursachen dieser Erkrankung beschäftigt hätte. 😒 Es endete an dieser Stelle dann auch, deshalb habe ich die Hoffnung, dass es im dritten Band noch korrigiert/aufgeklärt wird, dass dies nicht die Ursache sein kann. Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt. 🥲

Ce volume est dans la continuité du 1, j'ai vraiment beaucoup aimé. On en apprend plus sur le passé de Elle et ça se finit encore sur un petit plot twist sauf que cette fois je vais devoir attendre longtemps pour connaître la suite 😭. Par contre, dès fois j'étais perturbée car je ne savais pas si on parlait d'Elle ou juste le pronom pour désigner quelqu'un 😂. Maëlys a encore su nous montrer qu'elle était une amie en or dans ce tome (つ≧▽≦)つ. J'adore ce personnage. On en a appris plus sur les différentes identités de Elle aussi. Enfin une particulièrement mais j'en dis pas plus si vous n'avez pas lu le volume un 👀. Bref, j'ai beaucoup aimé ce tome et hâte de voir la suite !
Par contre en lisant la fin je me demande si l'histoire parle vraiment du tdi et pas peut-être d'un autre trouble. Car la manière dont elle a développé son trouble ne colle pas vraiment avec celle des personnes atteintes du tdi dans la vraie. Normalement c'est suite à des traumatismes répétés durant l'enfance. Mais je laisse le bénéfice du doute on aura peut-être plus d'infos dans le tome 3 pour comprendre 🤔.
Par contre en lisant la fin je me demande si l'histoire parle vraiment du tdi et pas peut-être d'un autre trouble. Car la manière dont elle a développé son trouble ne colle pas vraiment avec celle des personnes atteintes du tdi dans la vraie. Normalement c'est suite à des traumatismes répétés durant l'enfance. Mais je laisse le bénéfice du doute on aura peut-être plus d'infos dans le tome 3 pour comprendre 🤔.

So I’ve read the second book in this series of graphic novels, and I will say it’s all improving. And I’m questioning why it was originally placed as a teen and up graphic novel / comic book.
I mean, yeah. There’s a lot of stuff going on mentally here, but there’s no scary violence or anything scary like that going on.
I love that we found out more about Ella’s past and why she has 5 exra personalities, and so distinct ones to! VERY interesting! Gonna be interesting to see where the writer is going with that in the next book!
Don’t judge books for kids and teens. Sometimes they can really make you think.
I also loved how Ella had, in her mind, created different worlds for her different personalities where she can lock them in to make sure she’s always in control… until she loses that control. In this particular one it’s ‘Evil-Ella’ that has taken control and is really messing Ella’s live up.
What I do want to know is WHY ‘Evil-Ella’ is so evil, and why in the first book, she was locked up with chains? From we found out in this book, it doesn’t seem quite fair to lock the other personalities up really either. So how to solve that, well… I guess that’s what we’ll find out in the last book!
So far so good! I hope there’ll be a good ending!

Comme le tome précédent, une bonne BD avec une histoire intéressante et des dessins magnifiques.
Seulement la fin était un peu étrange et n’avait aucun sens. Moi, ça ne me dérange pas trop pour être honnête, parce que le reste était bon et je lis cette BD principalement pour pratiquer et améliorer mon français. Mais c’est vrai que les explications n’étaient pas logiques et j’imagine que ça a dû être un choc surtout pour les personnes qui se sentaient représentées par Elles jusqu’à ce moment. C’est vraiment dommage, ça.
Le reste m’a plaisait, donc je donne trois étoiles. Je suis curieuse de voir comment les auteurs vont poursuivre ce plot twist dans le prochain volume.

Une suite aussi intéressante que le 1er tome !
Je suis toujours aussi fan des dessins. J’ai adoré plonger dans l’univers inconscient/subconscient d’Elle avec chaque représentation de ses différentes personnalités par différents endroits.
Petite surprise tout de même pour la direction que prend la BD. J’aurais peut être préféré une approche plus réaliste du TDI plutôt qu’une explication loufoque mais je ne suis pas non plus déçue ! Si on prend cette direction why not, il n’y a pas de mauvaises interprétations 🤷🏼♀️

Tegneserien tager udgangspunkt i tanken om at flere personligheder godt kan bo side om side i en og samme person. Ideen er nytænkende og de forskellige personligheder og deres særlige karaktertræk og verdener er fint beskrevet.
Her i 2. bind hører vi om hvordan Ellas blå version har overtaget styringen og snyder og bedrager sig igennem tilværelsen, mens lyserød forsøger at komme tilbage til overfladen.

Her i 2. bind hører vi om hvordan Ellas blå version har overtaget styringen og snyder og bedrager sig igennem tilværelsen, mens lyserød forsøger at komme tilbage til overfladen.

J'ai lu plusieurs commentaires de gens déçus de cette suite; contrairement à l'avis populaire, j'ai préféré ce tome 2! Les visuels sont toujours aussi magnifiques, même plus, dans le sens où on alterne entre "le monde réel" et le subconscient d'Elle, où on parcourt des univers imaginaires et donc des décors plus hauts en couleurs et en textures. J'ai aussi aimé découvrir les autres personnalités d'Elle, qu'on avait à peine appris à connaître dans le tome 1.

Un peu en dessous du premier tome. Les personnages sont toujours plutôt attachants, et les dessins et couleurs toujours aussi attirants, mais à la fin de ma lecture j'ai eu la fameuse sensation de "second tome de trilogie" : il y a quelques péripéties, mais en fin de compte il ne s'y passe pas grand chose de très intéressant et ça ne fait pas beaucoup avancer l'intrigue. De plus, l'histoire ne semble pas vraiment aller dans le sens où je l'espérais, ce qui me déçoit un peu bien que je m'y attendais. Les jeunes fans de la série seront cependant sans nul doute satisfaits de cette suite tant attendue.
